The warm afternoon sun had begun its slow descent, casting long shadows across the busy streets of Biskivill. Inside the massive Biskivill Manor, Lady Bella Von Biskivill was seated at the head of a large, carved wooden table in the meeting hall.
The room was filled with advisors, merchants, and key figures from the region, all engaged in a heated discussion about the latest trade negotiations.
Lady Bella, listened intently to the debates. Although she had managed to lead Biskivill to new hights, she knew the men at the table still couldn't help but look down on her, for one simple reason. She was a woman!
Normally only a man was allowed to function as the head of a house, but Lady Bella's sons were both too young to take on such a role, and thus she was the one bearing the responsibilities.
And it was obvious the men at the table didn't approve of it, though they didn't openly express their opinions.
