Chapter 7 - I Hate You!

Amelie's POV

After he was gone, I went straight to the bathroom to get cleaned up. I have been in my work clothes all day long, and my body was beginning to react to the sweat accumulated in a bad way.

As I scrubbed my body, I ran my hands over my laps and trailed up to my butt in an attempt to recreate the feeling I got from earlier. It was futile, even self pleasure couldn't compare to the emotions that welled up in me at his touch. I was distracted by the growling of my stomach, and I quickly realised that I haven't had anything to eat since morning.

I hurried up with my bath, and changed into my casual clothes, before heading downstairs for dinner. Liam was already settled at the table, and from the looks of it hadn't started to eat.

It was a four seater dining table, with each of the chairs situated at the corners of the rectangular table.

The room was massive, when compared to the regular dinning rooms I've seen. And the opulence within did well to represent the wealthy persona that Liam hung over his shoulders on a regular.

The rectangular glass table took up little of the space, and the polished wooden chairs were completely covered by thick yet soft fur. From one glance, I could tell they had been imported right from the Middle East.

I settled on the farthest seat from Liam, and without saying a word to him began to eat my dinner. Call it disrespect, or ungratefulness I couldn't care less. He deserved much worse than he was getting right now.

"Let's talk about the marriage preparations."

I almost choked on my food the moment those words escaped from his mouth.

"Does the thought of being with me traumatize you that much?"

"Yes!" I answered swiftly. "Yes it does. What makes you think I'd want to get married to you again, after everything you did to me?" I asked.

He returned his gaze to his meal, took a spoonful into his mouth and ate like I wasn't even there. After he was done with the contents of his plate, he raised his head and stared me dead in the eyes before answering.

"Because you're going to obey me."

His response was frightening, and it immediately caused me to lose my appetite.

"You have a nerve, Liam Hardwood." I said while slowly rising from my seat. "You think because you're rich, the world should revolve around you. Perhaps you thought you could win me over with money and that disgusting attitude of yours, but it won't work. If you want me to even consider getting back with you, then you're going to have to try harder." I said with suppressed anger.

It was good releasing a little of the steam Inside of me. This should at least show him that I wasn't going to let him control me that easily.

"So tell me, what else do you want? You'll have a good life with this marriage. You'll have money, power. What else could you possibly want?"

'You!' I wanted to scream out. Deep beneath all that hate maybe a part of me wanted to loved again. But the risk of getting my heart broken a second time forced that feeling to remain suppressed.

"Why don't you just go for another lady. I'm sure a lot of girls are dying to get married to you, why must it me?!" I asked, this time losing control over my rage a little bit.

'Because I still love you!' Those were the words I wanted to hear. But sadly, they never came out of Liam Hardwood's mouth.

"I've told you, haven't I? You're the only woman I can put up with."

"You're lying."

"Must you criticise me with the slightest opportunity you get?"

"Don't you dare to play the victim here!" I cautioned with a finger pointed right at his face. "You don't have the right to play the victim." I made clear.

"Why must you make everything excessively difficult for yourself and everyone around you?" Liam said as he rose from his seat. He was visibly annoyed, and he did nothing to hide the rage in his eyes. "Do you know why I hate you so much? It's because you never see the big picture. You always want to hang onto some stupid morals of society. What do you want from me, to love you before you become my wife? You want affection don't you?!" In one long step, he crossed the distance between us and pinned me down to the dining table.

"Let go of me Liam!" I yelled at him, but he didn't listen. His eyes were just as they were seven years ago, filled with hate and rage. I was crying without even realising it. What was going to happen to me now? Was he going to hit me again, or yell at me until he lost his voice?

"You're crazy if you think someone like me will ever love a miserable woman like yourself!" He said without remorse. "You should be lucky you were chosen, instead of trying to set up standards for people way out of your league."

"Please let me go." I whispered in a shaky voice after futile attempts to escape his hold. My eyes were clouded with tears, and I could barely see the expression on his face now.

I felt his grip on me loosen a bit, but it wasn't enough for me to make my escape. He has been silent for a while, and I was beginning to wonder if he was regretting his words. I tried wriggling free once again but failed.

My lips parted ways in a plea, but before I could get the words out, his lips interrupted me.

I felt the heat in me subside at the fondness of his lips over mine. Like a vacuum, he was sucking all the hatred in me and making me lose my dignity. I fought for my freedom, but his grip was strong, so was the feeling building up inside of me.

Focusing on the adrenaline build up in my arms, I pushed him away and managed to break free. Then with teary eyes I stared at him in horror before saying the words I have never said to anyone. "I hate you Liam! I hate you!"
