The light came spilling in the darkness. The bright and magnificent red light of the moon. The sight froze Miguel for a moment. He had to hide his eyes from the light that assaulted him into the dim of the darkness. Finally after a minute or so, he was able to adjust with the moon light. The bright light still stung in his eyes, tears came out from the corner of his eyes. But he just looked at it. As if it was the last hope for him.
The whole of the ground was covered with the predators. How much had he underestimated them, thinking that they didn't dare to enter the flower regions. And how wrong they proved him at that moment. The most terrifying of those was that creature, he had half torn its face but still it had the ability to advance and gather the army of those creatures around it.
The creature hadn't been that much powerful among the others. The fact that he felt that other creatures who had assembled on its call perplexed him the most at this moment. In the real world only the strong were capable of gathering an army of people. And considering the fact that it wasn't the real world, but still there were certain semblances that might be true for the creature. It might have a strong family background. But it wasn't something Miguel had to ponder for now.
He covered the entrance to the outside and sat on the ground after placing many things to act as a trap. He knew it was futile, because these kinds of traps couldn't possibly stop those creatures, but still it could act as a signal.
"For Heaven's Sake." Miguel woke up again, he heard the sound from the traps he had placed before. Miguel had made sure to disguise them from his path. They might be changing directions even at the moment, but he couldn't be sure. "Couldn't they just let me sleep for a second."
Silently he got on his feet. A moment of rest had set his muscles on fire again. He could feel his exhaustion and even the pain he felt from his whole being. He silently endured all of it, as he slid the leaf to the outside world.
Miguel got out to face the fresh air and the coolness of the environment. He might be even higher than what he was able to go at the periphery of the garden. He turned again, to cover the leaf, obscuring the exit by placing more and more fallen and dried petals to the exit. Each of them were heavier than him, he had to apply the weight of his full body to even move some of them. He turned around to face his environment again.
He was on the surface of the flowers. But they weren't similar in size to the flowers he had fallen on his first day here. They were enormously huge. The red moon and the dark star that surrounded it looked more closer than before yet still so far. The light from the moon emitted on the flowers to provide a reddish glow to them. It made them more ethereal in his sight. Miguel was admiring the beauty of things when his sight met once again with one of the creatures. And this time it was the one he had fought to death.
The half torn face of the creature looked more terrifying under the reddish glow from the moon light. The creature silently observed Miguel, making no attempts to come closer at all. Almost as if it was waiting for something. Miguel too was standing still, he wanted to see, what the creature was upto at the moment. But few moments later, he had to open his eyes wide enough to take in the severity of the sight he was facing right now.
Creatures, gray-eyed with terrifying teeths and sharp claws that sported even faster limbs. Came out one after the other from beneath the surface to stand on those flowers. All waiting for something.
Miguel wanted to turn around, and get into the blocked entrance he had come from, but before he could do that. The entrance to the under maze was torn apart by a terrifying swipe. The gray-eyed creature inserted his claws into one of the leaves and pulled it inside with a great strength. The closed entrance had once again been opened and there was just not one of them. There were 5 or 6 of them each coming out one after the another giving a great presence.
They all were of huge sizes, and the one in front that led them all, looked the most menacing of all gray-eyed creatures he had seen till now. The big guy sported many scars, but the most glorifying feature was its teeth. The black sheen of it, was it even the natural color or those were a result of many prey accumulated under its teeth.
Miguel couldn't take another step in its presence. He was stiff as a wood and could only count off his willpower to get away from the fear that had gripped him in that moment.
"Karshte… mashuka…ancient…eilesto….rip…arta" The leader spoke in a gritting voice. Its shrill spread among all the peer gray-eyed that bowed in its presence. Miguel had difficulty understanding any of the words, he could only get some of the words like ancient but what did it even mean.
The leader came forward, near him. Even with all his intention he wasn't able to move an inch. Almost as if something had locked him in place. The gray-eyed creature lowered its body until its teeth were almost near his face. He could see it clearly at that moment. Each of those teeth was of long enough girth to be made into individual weapons of terrifying might. But all of it was present inside in its mouth. In numbers of 100's of those teeths. The black sheen reflected under the moonlight.
Miguel could feel the vast hotness in the other creature's jaws. The insatiable desire in its ever grayed eyes, to consume him. For a moment it even opened its jaws with an intention to devour him but it closed immediately. The creature stood straight again. The immensity of the leader's presence. Miguel couldn't forget it even if he wanted to.
"Naha… Garisto… pele…hunt…trophy…kiaiaiaiai," The leader stood to face them all again. It said something and immediately started laughing. The leader looked into Miguel's eyes again and said something, its voice coming deep from its teeth.
"You…hurman…entextein…me." It said in a glorifying manner. And then it went behind, to join the other gray-eyed who had followed him.
Miguel's mind was a mess. He couldn't understand what the Leader of those gray-eyed people wanted even when he spoke to him. What was it talking about providing him with entertainment? The gray-eyed conjured a chair made from bones out of nowhere and took a seat on it in a regal manner.
It didn't take long for Miguel to get a noticeable change in gray-eyed eyes. Earlier they were hunting him as if he was their prey, like they were chasing a mouse set in their traps. But right now, he could see the insatiable greed in each one of those eyes. The leader clapped and immediately a soundless ripple spread out of his hands spreading everywhere.
Miguel could feel his body again. He didn't wait for the other creatures as he started running through the forest of flowers again. This time, the flowers felt alive as he stood on them.
"Kerieriraaaaraa" Each of those gray-eyed shrieks before starting to chase around him. Miguel despaired under the shrieks. Even if he wanted to, there was no way he was going to survive again. Thinking that he jumped on another of the flower base, but immediately he found that the flower wasn't under him anymore. Flailing his arms, he was able to grab onto the sides of the petal. He looked down to see that there wasn't anything beneath him. Miguel could see the ground straight down. His stomach protested under the sheer height. But he calmed himself as he got himself above the other flower petal.
A gray-eyed creature, stood in front of him and it didn't take a moment to swipe its claws against him. Miguel could feel the tears in his eyes. His whole being felt like it was ripped apart under those claws. He fell down. Feeling the presence of the wind, it was his end. He was finally going to die. Blood poured from his stomach. The creature had ripped it, the clothes along with his flesh had separated from his body.
But before any moment passed again. He was lifted by the gray-eyed creature back to the surface of those flowers. It threw him straight as if Miguel was some rag doll. His body bounced from the impact coming to a stop after some distance. Miguel grabbed his stomach, he couldn't string two pieces of his thoughts.
