The swirling portal dropped me back where I had left. And even then I was only greeted by a certain quiet silence. There wasn't the chittering of bugs, nor the occasional growl of wolves.
They were all dead.
And I wouldn't of noticed. My thoughts were too far stuck in my mind.
That man… that boy… whatever he was. His questions and… and well the answers to those questions…
It was a lot. Knowing that something so- so horrid could happen to me. That my inner self could be exposed so easily.
I- I let myself fall to the stone wall. Let myself fall to the ground and hang my head towards the unburdened sky.
Hah-
"You really like to talk… don't you?"
He wasn't there.
And maybe that was why it was so quiet. I chuckled and sat up. Dusted my pants and slapped my cheeks.
"Come on…" I whispered. "Let's head home."
