Chapter 457 - Chapter 457: Epilogue

"... And with his accumulated strength, he destroyed the moon!" Stated Trenza with a proud expression as she lifted Candy into the air, causing her vertical slit eyes to sparkle in excitement.

"Woah, the moon, Grandma!?" Exclaimed Candy excitedly as she fist-pumped the air while Funky and Trenza smirked in amusement.

"You don't even know what the moon looks like, Candy; how are you this excited?" Asked Funky with a shake of his head as he folded his arms and looked at Candy, who pointed at him with a smile.

"Instincts, Father." Stated Candy firmly as she eyed Funky, who rolled his eyes while Trenza chuckled in amusement.

"Hehe, I will say that is something you definitely take after your Grandfather, Candy. His instincts were scary accurate, the same as yours." Said Trenza with a playful smirk as she suddenly threw Candy at the wall, only for her to gracefully reorient her body before effortlessly sticking her landing.

"Ooo, what else do Grandfather and I have in common, Grandma?" Asked Candy curiously as she removed her nails from the wall and landed on the ground before approaching Trenza, who scooped her back into her arms with a thoughtful expression.

"Hmm, well, you're both adorable. However, Your Grandfather would hate it when I said that. You both have yellow pupils, oh, and your fur is so soft, like a fluffy pillow. Actually, given your lack of muscles, your body is even softer, Candy." Remarked Trenza as she tapped her chin before glancing at Candy, only to press her body against her face, causing her to laugh.

"Hehe, that tickles, Grandma!" Said Candy as she began swiping the air, subconsciously launching wind blades at the walls behind Trenza.

"Careful Mother. Last time you tickled Candy, you nearly lost an eye." Said Funky cautiously as he distanced himself from Trenza, who suddenly stopped while nodding.

"Ha, nearly forgot; I can't lose one of my precious eyes, not at my old age." Muttered Trenza softly as she patted her chest while Candy slowly calmed down, only for the wall behind them to break apart, though none seemed to care.

"Another thing is that raw talent of yours, Candy. When it came to fighting, your Grandfather was an utter monster at learning; he could copy the techniques from his opponents during battle. It is one of the reasons he grew to be so feared." Said Trenza with a faint smirk as she set Candy on her lap while she tilted her head to the side, slightly confused at her words.

"Does that mean I will be as strong as Grandfather?" Asked Candy with hope-filled eyes as she turned and looked at Trenza, who chuckled before shaking her head, causing her to pout in disappointment while Funky laughed.

"Hahaha, no, Dear. Your Grandfather's raw talent was one of a kind, but that wasn't the deciding factor that led to his greatness; it was his will and insatiable lust for battle… And that is something your Father has." Replied Trenza with an amused expression as she affectionately rubbed Candy's head while faintly smiling, only to gesture to Funky.

"Eh, but I don't want to be like Father; I want to be like Grandfather." Muttered Candy as she kicked her feet in annoyance, causing Funky's expression to constantly twitch.

"Well, everyone can't be like him, Candy." Said Trenza softly with a reassuring smile as she hugged Candy, who sighed before reluctantly nodding in agreement.

After a few moments of silently soothing Candy, she finally returned to her joyful self.

"Hey, Grandma? If Grandfather was so amazing and so strong, how did he die? How could anyone kill him?" Asked Candy in confusion as she raised her head and looked at Trenza, who briefly froze before lowering her head and sighing.

"Kill him? Heh, that was impossible, Candy. The truth of the matter was, he had already died several months earlier." "Eh, what do you mean, Grandma? I'm confused." Remarked Trenza and Candy, respectively, as the latter tilted her head in confusion while the former softly shook her head.

"Remember when I told you about the fight on Raijin Island that involved the Blackbeard, Bigmom, and Redhaired Pirates? That was the day he died." Stated Trenza softly as she looked at Candy, who nodded while her confusion only deepened.

"During that fight, your grandfather fought against two Emperors of the Sea, yet Blackbeard, like the unhonorable plotting bastard he was, had one of his crewmates create a disease that prevented him from using his Sulong, and without, he wasn't strong enough to overcome two Emperors of the sea." Added Trenza with a scoff as she clenched her fist in anger before taking a deep breath while Funky rubbed her shoulder.

"Eh, if Grandfather wasn't strong enough, why didn't he escape and run away when he was stronger?" "Because that wasn't who he was. Even if he knew he was outmatched, he would stay and fight." Said Candy and Trenza, respectively, as the former scratched her head in confusion while the latter shook hers.

"At the end of the fight, he received a nasty blow, one that was believed to have killed him, and everyone thought he was dead; his life force had vanished. That was where the legend of Chaos Kong was supposed to end, but of course, he wouldn't allow that." Stated Trenza with a proud expression as she smiled while looking at the ceiling.

"He had an encounter with death, and as astonishing as it was, he won… Your Grandfather won against Death itself and came back to life…" Declared Trenza with a smirk as Candy's eyes widened in surprise, shocked at such revelations.

"... However, Death had already touched him, so it was only a matter of time until he died. Yet, his will was strong enough to keep Death at bay long enough for him to succeed in his ambition." Stated Trenza proudly as she tightly held Candy, whose eyes were once again sparkling in excitement.

"Woah, I knew Grandfather was amazing, but I didn't realize he was that amazing." Muttered Candy softly as she looked down at herself before glancing at Trenza, who suddenly smiled.

"Heh, in the future, we'll visit where he had his last battle, and there you'll get to glimpse how amazing he truly was, but for now. Let's focus on my little brother's pathetic Pirate crew." Remarked Trenza with a smirk as she looked at Candy while approaching the door, only for it to be busted open by someone else.

"C-Captain Funky! T-The Scar Pirates are-" Said the man anxiously as he looked at Funky, who scoffed before dismissively waving his hand while exiting the room, followed by Trenza and Candy.

"Yes, I know. Prepare everything like normal." Said Funky with furrowed brows as he eyed the man, who saluted before running away while Trenza chuckled in amusement.

"Pandy, care to lift us?" Asked Trenza with a faint smile as she raised her head and looked at Pandy, who now had a small beard nod before lowering his head.

Leaping onto Pandy's head with Candy and Funky, we soared into the sky as we looked at Scar's approaching ship, though I could see him standing at the bow with Naga-sa in hand, causing me to roll my eyes.

"Hehe, finally, I was beginning to get bored." Said Funky with a feral grin as he bared his fangs while eying Scar in the distance, who suddenly raised his head, staring right at them.

Without warning, lightning erupted from Funky as he began to change and grow, his golden brown fur changing to silver as he more than doubled in size; seeing the all too familiar sulong transformation, I simply backed away and watched as Funky launched toward Scar.

"Haa, hopefully, Scar will go easy on him; he is his disciple, after all." Muttered Trenza lightly as she rubbed Candy's head while the two watched Scar and Funky viciously fight, their powerful haki constantly battling against each other, though it was rather apparent who was stronger.

"So this is where the last battle happened?" Muttered Candy softly as she glanced at the glass-covered ground before looking at Trenza, who weakly nodded, her frail and old body having reached its limit in her old age.

"Y-Yes. I-It's where I want t-to lay to rest. N-Next to him…" Said Trenza weakly as she glanced at Candy, who had grown into a beautiful middle-aged Mink.

Nodding to Grandma, I stopped our small boat once we got near the shore and let Father carry her as we landed on the glassy beach; however, the moment I did so, I felt an oppressive presence, one so powerful it was suffocating and found it difficult to breathe.

I've experienced many life-and-death situations, but never have my instincts so blatantly warned me of danger; every fiber of my very being was screaming at me to flee this island.

"W-What i-is this?" Asked Candy with a terrified expression as she dropped to her knees while gasping for breath.

"Heh, t-that's your Grandfather, Candy." Replied Trenza with a faint smirk as she looked at Candy, while Funky withstood the oppressive presence and walked deeper into the island.

Taking several deep breaths, I used what felt like every ounce of my strength to follow after Father, though the oppressive presence only got stronger the more we walked, until eventually, I finally laid eyes on where it originated from.

At the top of a tall glacier was a black skeleton sitting on a carved throne, and even though he clearly wasn't alive, I faintly saw a glimpse of his impressive figure, his golden brown fur, his sharp teeth, his yellow eyes, his feral grin… It was beautiful yet far more terrifying.

"M-Monster." Muttered Candy softly as she gulped while staring at the black skeleton, her words causing Trenza to chuckle while Funky placed her at the glacier's base.

Drinking the cup of poison, I sighed as I stared at Funky and Candy. I could've continued to live, but I didn't wish to do so like this; my body was hurting, and I could barely move on my own; it was time to put my body to rest.

Several minutes passed until I began to feel the effects of the poison, and when I finally closed my eyes for the last time, I opened them once more, expecting to see the Death Diddy had described to me all those years ago on Mariejois. Yet, to my surprise, I didn't see a skeletal figure wielding a large black scythe; instead, I saw Freyja, someone who had practically vanished ever since the day of Diddy's death.

"Eh, t-the hell, aren't I supposed to dead?" "Duh, you are. You lived to be 98, Trenza, and I'm older than you. If you're dead, I'm definitely dead." Remarked Trenza and Freyja, respectively, as the former tilted her head in confusion while the latter nodded.

"Here, it'll be easier if I show you." Said Freyja as she suddenly grabbed Trenza's hand before dragging her into the dark, ominous crack in the sky, leading them straight to hell.

Once we emerged from the other side, my eyes widened in shock at what I witnessed.

"Wahaha, you bastard, Garp!" "C'mon and get some, Roger!!"

"Xehahaha, what fun! Wouldn't you agree, Edward?" "Guarararara, shut it, Rocks! And call me Whitebeard!"

"Haha! You flinched, Chala!" "Tch, no, I didn't, Grand!"

"What did I say about correcting me, you old Bastard Sebas!?" "Hoho, please tell me, why would I ever listen to you, Mael?"

"Do you have a 3, Imu?" "No. Go seaking, Nika."

"Zehahaha, you still mad about that, Ace?" "Tsk, yeah, I'm still mad, you bastard Blackbeard!"

"You're the only calm one here, Kuzan." "People in hell don't tend to be calm, Dragon."

"Worororo, Thunder Bagua!" "Kahahahah, Det Sterkeste Strike!"

As I watched how our old enemies and allies were all grouped into one place, I turned and glanced at Freyja with a look of pure confusion.

"Heh, I was the same when I died; I was full of confusion when I saw Diddy greeting me instead of death." Remarked Freyja with amusement as she eyed Trenza, who simply tilted her head.

"Well, simply, after Diddy died, he and Imu orchestrated a coup d'etat." Said Freyja as she folded her arms and pointed to Diddy, who was calmly sitting atop a mountain of demon corpses, eating a few of them.

"D-Diddy took over hell!?" Exclaimed Trenza in shock as she looked at Freyja, who opened her mouth, yet before she could respond, the world began to shake only for a massive crack in space to appear.

Watching an army of demons pour out of the crack in the air until they blocked the sky, I saw a majestic-looking demon with eight wings flying above everyone, staring daggers at Diddy.

"No, we didn't quite take over hell just yet. But we're getting close, and that's probably why Satan has decided to have a final all-out battle." Remarked Freyja lightly as she yawned while Trenza's eyes nearly popped out of her soul.

"T-That's SATAN!? T-The King of Hell!?" Exclaimed Trenza in disbelief as she pointed at the majestic-looking demon before glancing at Freyja, who nodded.

"Hahahaha, if it isn't Satan! I've been waiting for you to finally attack!" "I'll rip your soul to nothingness, Kong!" Yelled Diddy and Satan, respectively, as the former grinned while the latter furiously gnashed his teeth.

"HAHAHAHAHA! AFTER I KILL YOU, I'LL WAGE WAR AGAINST HEAVEN AND KILL GOD!" Declared Diddy with a ferocious grin as he narrowed his eyes at Satan before speedily leaping into the air, prompting both sides to enter an all-out brawl.

"Anyways, you can watch if you want, but that bitch Lilith has been pissing me off ever since I got here, so I'll see you later." Said Freyja with a faint smirk as she kissed Trenza before flapping her wings and launching herself towards a gorgeous demon, the two entering a vicious battle.

Wiping Freyja's kiss, I watched the battle for a few moments, only to sigh as I rubbed my head before reaching down and grabbing a random bone the size of a club.

"Welp, the future Queen of Heaven can't be weak." Muttered Trenza softly as she brushed her hair aside before suddenly charging into the fray.
