Chapter 82 - The elves secret

Amon, Leon, and Bruna told Krampus and Thessia everything about this island. It was an island where once a powerful mana beast ruled over everything, and as long as this mana beast was at this place, everything was peachfull. However, once the mana beasts had offspring, these offspring spread all over the island, and then one day, the mana beast created the blue vulcano and left the island.

Since then, the monsters here have been fending off the position of the new ruler, and in less than one year, every human and elf had to leave this island.

All this happened about 500 years ago, around the time when the Second World War ended.

"I see. During the time the Second World War ended, what will we do from now on?" Krampus glanced at Thessia, who was staring absent-mindedly at the floor, biting her nails.

'Oh yes, the Second World War was a war of extermination against the elves.' Leon thought as he saw Thessia's reaction as he mentioned the Second World War.

Five hundred years ago, the Great War broke out between humans and elves. A trivial dispute that started between two villages turned into a full-scale war of extermination against the elves all over the world.

The elves lost to the overwhelming mass of humans and were enslaved or murdered, despite their enormous physical and magical prowess.

No elf will ever forget this part of history. They would probably be willing to fight another war if it meant that even one elf could live in freedom.

"Master?" Krampus touched Thessia's shoulder and came closer to her.

Thessia, caught by surprise, jumped back, preached to be caught, and answered, "Well, if on this island really roam S-Rank monsters around as if they were gras popping out of the ground, we should plan our steps first and then handle this situation based on the plans we make."

"I think differently about this; I will explore the island, and you will go back inside the cave." Amon spoke.

All the other four people turned all their attention to Amon. He sat there, one knee bent, the other stretched through, his right hand resting on his bent right leg.

Amon sits there as if he owns the world. Everyone listens as he continues, "I can hide from anything and anyone without a way to track me down, so I'm going to search the entire island to see if I can find a way to get out of here. The rest of you stay in the cave in the meantime and find another way out, but first I want to ask you a question."

"What is it about this cave? You know how to get out of it but don't know where you will land once you get out; you know the way out but are locked in. There are some questions I ask myself, and I want you to answer them."

Thessia and Krampus looked at each other because one thing was sure: they had to answer, and then it needed to be either the truth or a half truth, or they would break the contract.

"Master, I think it's best if we tell them, or else we would be doomed." Krampus suggested.

Thessia needed a while. She sorted out her thoughts and thought about each word she would say, planning scenarios and possible traps Amon could set for them as she finally had her answer sorted out.

"This cave, as you are calling it, is a tunnel. Tunnels spread all over the world, conected by portals; these tunnels are our emergency bunkers, prisons, and escape routes at the same time, and each eleven of status is responsible for a certain sector of these tunnels and knows the routes. I and Krampus are responsible for Sector X."

Amon, Leon, and Bruna stared at the woman. Protals, warp stones, and the scorle of the trevelor, Unkown, who brought them there. Amon finally understood something: all of these things were not random situations and items that were lined up in chaos.

"Leon, on the day the warp stones were installed to a hundred percent and worked, didn't you tell me that Roxanne and Personia worked on this whole development of them alone?"

"Yes, but they never told me how they developed them; I just invented the idea that the two of them brought them to reality, but I don't know how."

'Wait, now I get what he means,' Leon thought.

Leon went nearer to the two elfs and asked, "All these things are combined into one field, and this is teleportation. After your explanation, could it be that elves developed teleportation items during the Second World War after finding a specific item?"

Thessia bit her lips as she heard the question and wanted to stand up. However, in the moment she wanted to stand up, she realized that the contract she signed was more demonic than she anticipated. She had to answer; she had to tell him at least half the truth of the elf's greatest secret in history.

She stood now at the decision: her life for her folk or her folk for her life.

"Yes, during the Second World War, we received an item, and based on this item, we researched teleportation, our ancestors developed these portals and a mana beast created these tunnels for us."

"Naga, the protector of the elves, the reason why humans waited millennia to declare war on the elves, the mana beast who made World War II possible with his death." Leon said.

On the 22nd of the fourth month, several hundred years ago, the mana beast Naga, a mana beast that was known for its affection and interest for elfes. I protected the elves for a long time and on the day Naga fell in battle against 200 S-class mages. With the demise of this monster, people were no longer afraid of the elves and started to kill, rape, enslaved and many more things the mindof a mortal couldn't think of.

Amon joined the conversation and gave his order based in these information, "Alright, in this case do you know the way to one of these portals?"

"No, but we know about a third of the part that leads to the portal after that we have to search and this search can take over many months." Thessia said, with a little grin nearly not visible on her face.

"In this case for today I will go out and explore the island all of you will stay here and show Leon and Bruna the part of the way, that you know."

Before someone was able to give him an answer to that question Amon's body wrept items with black bandages and disappeared.
