Chapter 78 - "Let's form a soul contract."

Amon, Leon, Bruna, Krampus, and Thessia As he walked through the cave, the light source Amon created at the beginning had to be renewed.

Bruna walked at the very back, saying nothing. Amon noticed staring coming from Bruna; it was no surprise for him after all he said to everyone that Roxanne was an elf. Amon did not know if this would turn out to be a negative thing. After all, humans, even in primary schools, thought about how to discipline themselves and how humans were superior to them.

Amon himself never went to school in his whole life, but he heard a few things from Arthure; he was a former professor who was forced to teach these things to little children. He would make sure to deal with this problem later. The primary subject was now to get out of this cave, and later on he could deal with Bruna.

"Arght! I can't stand this. I don't want to walk a single step further, knowing that humans walk behind and back. Fuck it!"

Thessia punched the wall of the cave. Her scream once again echoed through the cave.

"Perfect in this case. Keep walking into your demise, misses. I hate every human being alive." Leon stepped forward; he knew of this ridicule; he too wanted to get out of here, but if he did this with a person who could only scream around, they would find their death in this case. Because the screams of the woman either attract all the powerful monsters in this cave system or, at some point, the two factions slaughter each other when they are sleeping.

"What do you mean with that?" The woman stopped on the ground, not lowering her voice even a single decibel.

"It is simple; whatever imprisioned the two of you in here was either too powerful or too many for the two of you to handle; the mana in your manasea is near to nothing; the only one from the two of you who can fight is your friend next to you."

"But that's not."

"What do you mean with that's not? If you had power, you would have already used it against us elf's, who are known for being physically and magically stronger than humans, but no, you only used mana pressure, and the physical force you used was not even enough to even scrath Amon!"

"If the two of you run into whoever imprisioned you or a powerful monster, you will only be a burden to your friend; he is the only one who can fight and will die in battle for you, and that's then your fault!"

Leon shouted at the woman, not with the slightest intention of considering her feelings; he wanted to say it, and he will say it even if she were to slump down crying right now; he wouldn't care. He said what needed to be said.

Amon stood beside him; at first he wanted to stop him, but what he said made sense; if it would bring Tessia even a little bit back to reality, then it was worth it.

"Do you think I don't know that? Do you think I don't know how many times he risked his life for me and how many times he got hurt? I am weak, yes, but I still can't do it; I can't walk in peace knowing that humans are behind me."

Tessia collapsed, fell to her knees, and covered her face, drenched in tears, with her hands.

Leon didn't want to do anything at first, but then Amon noticed how Krampus' eyes changed every second—gray, dark blue, dark red, and then violet.

Amon held his palms together; they were now about 30 centimeters apart, and between his palms appeared a parchment glowing blue. Amon grabbed the parchment at the moment, and gravity kicked in.

"I will form a soul contract with one of you."

A soul contract, also known as an unbreakable contract, is a contract that can be formed by anyone, no matter if it is formed by Mana or Qi.

If someone signs one of these contracts, you risk everything: your blessing, name, status, or, in other words, you can take or order everything you want from the person who broke the contract.

"The rules are simple: I will form a contract with one of you two; each one can give a maximum of three conditions to the contract; one of these conditions can be rejected, and then this person would need to find another condition. The contract holds for one year. Do you agree?"

With the contract in his hand, Amon gazed down at Tessia, who was still sitting on the floor, trying to hide her tears. Three seconds of silence went by until Krampus said

"I will do it, but I want to hear your conditions first." Krampus eyes shone in a deep red. Amon was sure that he was not allowed to make a single mistake because the contract was not sealed.

"Ye-"

"Wait, I will do it, Krampus."

Before Amon could finish, Tessia stood up and grabbed the contract.

"No, Tessia, do you know what you have done? I can't let this happen. You are unable to sign the contract now."

Dong, dong, dong.

Bells rang again and resonated through the cave, and the reason was because the partner of the contract is divided by the first two people who touch it.

Amon was not sure what to do; if he did not disable the contract right now, he would need to fight or kill Krampus, and this was something he wanted to avoid.

"No, he won't Krampus because I want to form this contract. As this man over there said, I am right now useless to anyone, to you, and to my race. The only thing I know is how to get out of this cave, and that is something you know too. I don't want you to lose everything you have again because of this. Let me do this, please."

With determined eyes Thessia stared into the glowing eyes of Krampus, the only eyes she feared from him—the eyes you could only see in the moment you fight for your life. Thessia already saw these eyes way up close. She saw them once, on one of the two days she regrets the most in her entire life.

"Please."

Thessia repeated herself again and again. Krampus, however, had no intention of giving in. Thessia walked towards Krampus, took his head with both of her hands, and gazed up at him.

"I know that you only want to protect me, but I am not worthy of your protection; after all, I once destroyed what you protected. Let me apologize for that and be useful to you just once, please. I am begging you." Thessia's voice was low and filled with regret and guilt.

'You little idiot, do you think I am still mad because of that?' Krampus took both of Thessia's hands and slowly removed them from his face. His eyes turned yellow, and his voice softened.

"Alright, go, but I want to stay with you the entire time you two form the conditions for the contract, and I won't express a no this time."

Thessia nodded, turned towards Amon, and spoke, "Let's form the contract, but you will tell me your conditions first."

"In this case, I will start. Leon, come with me, and Bruna, take a rest." Amon spoke.

"Eh, oh, yes, I will." Bruna turned around, sat on the cold ground of the cave, and looked at the cave walls as the other four went a few meters ahead to form the contract.

"What should I do?"
