Chapter 71 - Rematch against the Sroc

The Sroc stood in all of his might between Amon, Leon, and the unknown. His sheer appearance radiated power.

The Sroc whipped the ground with its flaming tail. Flames rose where the tail whipped the black grasses of the demonic land.

The unknown lunged forward, and at the same moment, a voice appeared in Amon's head.

"I hope you know that your friend is crazy."

The voice was exactly the same. Amon heard the past two times the unknown talked to him, and he was not wrong. Choosing to bring this beast to their battle was a high gamble, but at the same time interesting enough to make Amon feel anticipation.

The red energy flowed out of the unknown's body, now resembling an aura that would destroy everything in its path. The auro moved on to the dagger, which was spinned, and threw a few movements of the unkowns hands.

The dagger flew at his opponent with tremendous speed, but his attack was useless.

The stranger was thrown back. Headfirst, he crashed into a tree, which was uprooted by the impact.

However, what accomplished this was not magic but a roar. Broc's roar was enough to extinguish the unknown's lights.

It was then that Amon realized that it wasn't just him and Leon who were growing in power. The last time they encountered it, the monster was a B-rank monster at best, but now it was an A-rank monster, almost an S-rank monster. A type of monster that was so powerful that only a few S-Rank magicians could deal with it alone.

The unknown fell into unconsciousness; this enemy was dealt with, but the real opponent would come now. The Sroc got into the position of a lion, waiting for the right way before striking its prey, and this is what Amon and Leon were for him right now: prey. Amon and Leon could see that clearly in the monster's eyes.

The Sroc opened its mouth, and small electrical charges were released around the monster's saber teeth. The area around its paws solidified into ice and burst again at the same moment.

Amon used the moment of calm to prepare for an attack; now he had to think of several things at once.

Number one was Bruna, who was unconscious and leaning against a tree about a kilometer away from the fighting area. The moment the Sroc noticed that she was there, her last hour would have already struck.

Amon used the shadow step again and disappeared into nothingness. With Amon's desire to disappear from the sight of this battle, Leon now had to face the Sroc on his own.

The Sroc got all of its strength into its legs and jumped towards Leon. In the last moment, Leon jumped back, preventing the ice nails from ripping his body apart.

As the paw touched the ground, ice made its way all over the battle area. Leon was busy dodging ice spikes while making sure not to trip on the ice. This was a dead or alive situation; one mistake was needed, and everything was lost.

Peng, Peng, Peng.

Two crystals were shot at the Sroc, and their size grew more and more. The two glowing red crystals were made way high in the sky, right in front of the light source.

'I will show you what all the different colors of my crystals mean.'

A bloody red liquid fell from the sky; it fludded the whole battel area. Leon rose up; he surfed on the liquid; it was what he imagined himself—red liquid—only he could move on.

Yet there was something strange about the liquid movement. The liquid did not even touch the Sroc's fur; the blood-red liquid twirled around the Sroc, and the Sroc turned its head around, searching all around for his Leon.

The Sroc had enough of this whole show and decided to freeze the entire liquid, and so he did. The red liquid froze, and the skulpure it formed could stand in an art museum. This move was, however, Leon's plan. Leon used one of his oldest techniques, the technic, to enlarge his crystals and damage his enemies.

The pitch black crystal, the third crystal, Leon shot, and with the first large two, he distracted the Sroc from the small black one that emearged with it sourouning as it buried itself in the black earth under the Sroc.

The attack was not intended to kill the monster, but it was still intended to rip his right hind leg off.

SLASH!

Amon was back, and with a wide motion from the sword he created, he ripped a huge gap into the skin of the Sroc. Now it was not the two of them against the Sroc; now they were three against the Sroc.

Bruna stood beside Amon, ready to heal or revive them if they needed it. The sowrd Amon turned his ring to was so big that he had to hold it in both of his hands to wield it; it's size was as big as Amon himself, and its detection power was on a similar level as his.

With Amon at the top. He, Leon, and Bruna formed a triangle, and they stood ready to kill the Sroc as six black gloves covered the three people's eyes, noses, and mouths. The unknown was back, and Amon found himself inside a cave.

Bruna and Leon stood to Amon's left and right. Their absent-minded gaze stared against the cave walls.

Amon used the skills he already had in the demonic land and searched for monsters, people, and maybe an exit.

"Amon, what's happening? Where are we?" Amon turned around, and where Bruna stood, she was close to him since Amon was the only light source in this cave. Everything around them was filled with darkness. Thirty seconds later, Leon too stepped out of the darkness inside the light source range.

Amon gave Bruna her answer, an answer Leon could already grasp about how the question sounded: "The situation is bad; we are in a cave, and at each corner are monsters awaiting us. The cave is larger than a range of five kilometers since I could not detect an exit."

As he saw Bruna's worried expression, a voice appeared in all of their minds: "Thieves deserve prison; now, my prisoner, see how you escape from this prison."
