Chapter 72 - Trapped in a cave

"What was that? Who are you?" Bruna shouted in confusion in the darkness; the only answer she heard was her own echo as it resounded in the cave.

"This was Unkown; he only talks in this way; he brought us to this place, and I have no fucking idea where we are."

Bruna shifted her gaze; she seemed to be confused. Amon wanted to say something to put her at ease, but he found nothing he could say. This was as he remembered that he had a voice shell in his pocket.

Amon reached into his pocket, trying to find the voice shell. This still remained unsucessful; he searched both of his pockets multiple times until he came to realize that the voice shell was nowhere to be found.

Amon assumed that he lost it in either the fight against Unkown or the Sroc. This was still their least problem; they were in a dark cave with no rations or a plan for the exit. He used all the opportunities he had to search for an exit.

He let his Qi flow through the cave, trying to feel the way out; in the end, everything he did remained useless.

"Fuck it; in this case, we have to pace this problem on the hard path. Leon, are you able to create a piece of parchment with your blessing and a pensile, of course too?" Amon's gaze swiched at Leon; the only thing he could do now was draw the layout of the cave he knew about on the parchment.

Leon had a harder time than it looked. First, he had to image the parchment; he needed to image its appearance, the smell, the way it made noises, the way it tasted, and the way it felt. Then he needed to imagine how the parchment and the pencil made their way from his impression into this world.

This long process needed a few seconds for Leon; this blessing would only work if the person needed to know how to use it. In the past, he had many difficulties understanding how the things he created entered the world. Amon then explained to him how he brings the Qi with the gate into this world. Amon's understanding of this process helped him a lot.

The parchment and pencil appeared 10 centimeters from Amon's hand, and as gravity made its work, the parchment and the pencil fell right into Amon's hands. The only problem was that he was bad at drawing and painting.

Bruna noticed this and asked him to go give her the pencil; after all, was she, according to her opinion, a good painter?

Amon began to send his Qi out all over the entire five kilometers he could reach with them. He made sure to explain the cave's layout in precise detail. Everyone was aware that this process would take time, but at the same time, it was one of the most important things they could do in this moment. Of course they did not think about bringing the whole five kilometers Amon felt; they concentrated on the first kilometer and would step by step enlarge the map.

Drawing each and every passage and way through the cave took many hours, but in the end, Amon and Bruna managed to get the layout within a one-kilometer radius around this point.

In the meantime, they did this work, and Leon thought about what they would do next. He made plans about how to deal with the monsters Amon mentioned and how they could get food.

"Whew, that was this. What are we going to do from now on?" Bruna's gaze pendeled around three times; she wanted to hear how to proceed from now on.

"First of all, I will explain a few things at the very beginning, Bruna, since you don't have any weapons, items, or anything else with which you could fight. I would suggest that you stay behind the two of us; your only job is to keep the two of us alive and navigate us with the map."

According to Leon's information, had Bruna not been the strongest figure that exists, she would have had the role of a supporter, so she should act in this situation. His blessing was in this cave, a huge problem; if there was no light source, his blessing would not work. He needed light in some way to shine and throw his crystals.

He was not useless; the lightsource Amon would create with his Qi was enough for him to fight, yet still not enough for him to use his full powers.

Amon would be the primary attacker in this confrontation, and the two of his supporters were Leon's plan from now on.

"Alright, you can count on me. I drew this map, and I will assist you with it. But what will we do about the problem of food? Water can be created with arc magic; food, however, cannot."

"It is simple; we will eat the monsters." Leon said.

Bruna was giddy at the idea of eating monsters. Many bad things happened in her life, but she was never in a situation where she was forced to eat monster meat.

Amon did not mind it; in his life, he already ate many monsters; he was often hunted out of town or villages; sometimes he was not even allowed to buy food. So he risked it and ate a monster. The meat was far from being delicious, but it was essential for him to survive.

"Perfect, we should not stand here for too long. Bruna, say the way, and we will go where you tell us to."

As Amon said these words, Bruna began to feel the pressure; if she took the wrong path or made a mistake, they could die. What she didn't know was that this was a test from Amon; he would constantly check where they went by letting his Qi flow through the cave.

However, he still wanted to know how much he could trust her. Amon was the type of person to not trust a person after hearing about the past or witnessing a few good things it did. He was thankful that she saved Roxanne, but he was not ready to trust her.

"Good in this case, this way." Bruna pointed behind them. Amon felt that the way led to a bigger room and agreed with the decision; even if he felt monsters in this area, this was something she could not know.

Amon went ahead on the top, followed by Leon and Bruna, who walked next to each other. The light ball that levitated in midair followed Amon with each step. The cone of light was large enough for them to see where they were going and large enough to have enough time to see if a monster appeared in front of or behind them.

As they came near the larger area, Amon stopped and looked around the corner, and it was the way he felt it—a monster with white fur and an appearance similar to a gorrila. Its eyes had obviously already formed back.

This kind of monster had to be found only in caves; the only problem was not its size but the fact that Amon never saw it before.

Amon held up three fingers and began to close one after the other; he was not allowed to make any noises. If the eyes of the beast have formed back, his hearing, touch, and sense of smell must be extremely expressed.

At the moment when his last finger was closed, Amon used a shadow step and sprinted with enormous speed towards the monster. The monster did not have the slightest chance and died before it even knew that it died.

And thus, within a few seconds, the monster became the dinner of these troopers, and this more spacious part of the cave became their short-term base.
