Chapter 63 - The things that have to get discussed

The cries of jubilation from the maids could be heard throughout the Guild House. The people who took shelter here in the guild during the war did not understand why all the maids were suddenly beaming with joy; they just assumed that they were happy that the war was over.

Amon also gave all those who were still here the understanding that they could continue to live here as long as they made themselves useful at work. The offer was accepted by everyone, and now they all worked hard together.

Amon took the opportunity to discuss everything that needed to be discussed with the twelve coats of arms, Aiko, and Hiroshi.

He had to do it as long as all of them were still gathered here. After a war, there were quests everywhere in both kingdoms and beyond them. Jeanne and Meng would soon go and do these quests on the spot, if possible.

He was happy to see them all together in one room again. Aiko and Hiroshi were brought two extra chairs; each sat in their own place, and without saying anything, they began the ritual they had once devised.

Leon stood up and spoke with a proud chest, "Leon Camber, the first coat of arms."

The next was Roxanne; she did the same, then Vlad, Personia, and so on. Some of them liked this ritual, and some of them, like Cedric, Jeanne, or Isabelle, found it unpleasant to do it. But they stuck with it as long as the others did it too.

Hiroshi too felt like doing something and said his own thing: "Hiroshi and Aiko, part of the Spellbanders shadow."

Thanatos grabbed his spiked bag, pulled the scrole of the trevelor out of it, and laid it on the tabel.

"Let's get to this point right away. This is the item that had the power to nearly end this war. I took it with me before we traveled back to the Verdan capital." Amon said this with his arms crossed.

"So that's the reason why I lost the signal of your voice shell for a short time when you were in the castle. You went to the room where it was located." Personia said.

Meng was glad that Amon took it with him; in all the things that happened, he completely forgot about the item. "I am glad that you brought it with you; I don't want to think about it. What would happen if the Silverwood king got this into his hands?"

The imaginations of everybody had already created scenarios of what the king would do with such a powerful item, but Cedric was the only one to get excited about it. The rest were thankful for Amon's ability to remember the important things when matters became serious.

Amon then began to tell everybody, while looking at Personia, the little things he found out about the item. He said his hypothesis was that whatever was marked on the map by someone was remembered by the item. He then proceeded with what happened when you touched the troubled place and what to do.

Personia had full attention at each word Amon spoke while examining the item. She found out that in the bottom left corner was a word too. The word was 'addrons', and as Personia spoke it out loud, she could give more information by either speaking it or writing it.

It was different from what was written. Jeanne had a lip stick with her, and Personia wrote the information in. As she wrote or said, what should be added to the image of the map changed too. The map looked like you wrote in the details.

As she falsely wrote in that next to the guild was a huge tower, the tower got added to the map. If you could still teleport, there was something Personia would test later. But by saying the word 'doleta, you could erase the last word you wrote and then repeat that as often as you liked.

"Good. What I found out in this little amount of time was that you can add details to a location you marked previously, and the item must be older than 2200 years old. The words that stand on the scrole and work like commands are words from an old Nobel language. It is unknown when it was created, but we know that it went extinct in the year 2008. Which means it was 2200 years ago.

In this world, the year zero is the year when three mages created arc magic. This was 4208 years ago.

"Since the rest I know is everything you guys know, I will get to work immediately after we are done here. Is there something more to discuss with us, Amon?"

Amon switched to another sitting position. He now sat with his right ankle on his left knee, crossed his fingers into each other, and began to say what he had read in the Verdan castle.

"He betrayed me; it was all his plan. Why is he abandoning me now? Now that I understand everything, this demon belongs to him. I will get him and kill him.

He still didn't answer me. What should I do?

There is only one thing I have to do alone now.

My slayer came, but he will be eaten by the demon from the shadows just like me."

"These sentences were written on the wall in the room where I found this item. What do you think about this? Who wrote it, and who does he mean?"

The question went around the whole room, and Leon was then the first to answer, "I would say this sounds like someone gave him the plan for doing something. Maybe even the tactics for this war; we still don't know where the king got this item from the legendary rank."

Arthure added, "And it looks like this someone betrayed him and then walked away with no trace of where he was. But things like 'this demon belongs to him' or 'the slayer who gets eaten by the demon from the shadows' are something I don't get."

As Arthur was done, Meng asked Leon, "Leon, did the king say anything similar to this before you killed him? If it was the king who wrote this before you killed him, then that means that someone he calls a demon from the shadows will eat you."

The attention swiftly turned to Leon again, who said, "No, he only cursed me, but if we say that the one who wrote this was the king, then that means that whoever tricked the king is way more powerful and influential than we may think. After all, he was ready for his plan to give an important item away with the intention of throwing the king, with not a single trace that he wanted it back."

"On top of that, it seemed that whoever brought him this item seemed to not be the demon from the shadows but one of his men. But you are right; if it really is the king who wrote it, then I am, to his judgment, destined to get eaten by this demon. Amon, write me down these words and then bring them to my apartment. I have an idea of how to investigate this. But this is just an idea; I will tell you when it stands."

Amon nodded and said the last thing that had to be discussed: "And the last one is Unkown. Because his, her, or whatever it is's voice resounded in my head, he told me that he would come and take the dagger back that Bruna took with her."

This was a manner everyone who was in Group A wanted to discuss, who was this figure, his fighting skills were mignifecence. He needed no blessing; he only combined his physical capabilities with arc magic, and with that, he managed to make fools out of everyone.

"Oh, this motherfucker, yeah, let's talk about that one." Isabelle's voice resounded in an upbeat, now only rarely heard, kind of way.

"I would say that is the spirat, but first of all, bring Bruna here together with the dagger; maybe you can tell us something about it, Björn?"

Roxanne somehow liked Isabelle's attitude. Björn was now ready to see this weapon again; during the fight with him, he already noticed that it was special, but how that was something that needed to be found out now

"That's a good idea, Roxanne, Aiko, or Hiroshi. Would the two of you do that?" Before Aiko could bow down and get to her work, as a proper maid should do, her father, who still wore the oni mask, disappeared and took care of the job himself.

'Geez, dad, you don't have to treat me like a little child anymore.'
