[Sarah's POV]
After leaving Alice in Grimm's care, Sarah immediatly walked towards her father's house.
On the way, she was greeted by various people from the Clan, children and adults alike. In the village, everyone knew everyone, and Sarah was one of the most impressive warrior here. This was normal for her.
A woman that saw her bring Alice to Grimm's hut even asked who the young girl was, but Sarah gave her a polite but evasive answer.
Talking with these people was... weird. Sarah had been, and still was, someone who really liked being alone. Alone in the jungle, with nothing but her clothes and her bow.
She also liked shooting prey, and the sound some of the animals made when her arrows hit them. She really liked how she felt then. She felt... like she was the most fearsome predator in the jungle.
Sarah soon arrived in front of the biggest hut of the whole village.
When she entered the house, she immediatly saw the man she was looking for.
Sarah's father, Eloy, was the chief of the Fire Clan since the death of his own father in a legendary clash against the Four-Headed Beast, also known as Tezcatlipoca, a long time years ago.
In the clan, his autority was almost unmatched. Only the Three Elders, Grimm, and Yaotl could even compare in term of autorithy, but even then, Eloy was much more respected by the members of the Clan than anyone else.
Sarah looked at her father. He was nearly fourty years old now, and it showed. In a couple of years, he would have to abandon his position. Who would he give it to ?
Sarah had no idea. Eloy had no male heirs to chose, only Sarah. But the Fire Clan would rather have someone that wasn't of Eloy's bloodline instead of a woman as a leader. So... Yaotl was probably the next chief ?
Politics weren't really Sarah's thing.
Sarah, like her mother, was someone who liked the jungle, and spend more of her time outside the village than inside. In the Fire Clan, Sarah was one of the most knowledgeable person about the jungle: she knew animals no one ever talked about, and places nobody else visited. The jungle was her home, in a way.
"My beautiful daughter..."
Sarah was brought back to reality by her father's voice. Her relationship with him wasn't that great, since they barely talked with each other, but it was more due to Sarah's loner personality than anything else.
She bowed respectfully. Eloy was the Fire Clan's leader before being her father.
"Father."
"Stand up, young warrior."
When Sarah did so, she met her father's eyes.
Two brown eyes, deeper than any kind of abyss. This was the gaze of an old man. A powerful man.
Eloy was someone worthy of respect. A born leader. Sarah still remembered the day where he beat the crap out of the Earth Clan's leader, even though she was just a small child at the time.
Even after the death of his wife, which was Sarah's mother, Eloy continued to lead the Clan.
"What is the purpose of your visit, Sarah ?"
Eloy was going straight to the point, as always.
"I was hunting, and while doing so, I found what I believe to be a Daughter of the Sun, answered Sarah. She was fighting one of the Two-Headed Beast, so I helped her with my arrows, and slayed the monster."
Normally, arrows couldn't pierce the skin of the Two-Headed Beast, escpecially when they used their weird abilities. But Sarah's bow was very special, since it came from the sun. Nothing could stop the devastating arrows shot with it.
It even had a name: "Blazing Warbow"
Eloy was the one who gave her this bow, when Sarah became an adult. It was Sarah's most important item, one she carried all the times. Literally. When she slept, it was right next to her.
"A Daughter of the Sun? Are you sure ? What did she looked like ?"
Eloy looked interested, and Sarah was brought back to reality.
The Children of the Sun... it was a term used to described those who didn't came from the Clans, that didn't come from the jungle. That came from... somewhere else.
They were extremly rare, since the last time the Fire Clan met one of them was before Sarah's birth.
"She was young, around eleven years old. She looked like she hadn't eaten anything since one or two weeks, and she only had one eye." answered Sarah.
"Did you know her name ?"
"She said it's Alice."
"Did she have anything interesting on her ?"
"No, only a knife."
"During her fight against the Two-Headed Beast, did she use the Power of the Sun ?"
The Power of the Sun... was a mysterious ability that some people, less than one in a hundred, had. Like Grimm, or his teacher when she was alive.
The Power of the Sun came at a price though... most of the people capable of using it died much faster than normal, and their body always ended up damaged in some way.
Sarah wasn't sure of it, but she was pretty sure that Alice wasn't capable of using this Power, otherwise she would have used it against the Two-Headed Beast.
"No."
Remembering something, Sarah added:
"We almost got caught by one of the three heads, though."
"A Three-Headed Beast ? In the Clan's territory ? This is a disaster..." sighed Eloy.
It was, in fact, a disaster.
If Two-Headed Beasts were highly dangerous, then Three-Headed Beasts could be considered the apex predators of the jungle, tied for this spot with the much rarer Dark Serpents.
To put it simply, the Three-Headed Beasts were fast, big, somewhat smart, hard to kill, and able to use the Power of the Sun, just like the Fire Clan's shamans.
There was also the fact that they were believed to be the direct underlings of Tezcatlipoca, and as such, killing them may enrage this dangerous creature.
Of course, the Three-Headed Beast weren't invincible, but very few people ever managed to kill one. In the whole Fire Clan, the only person alive who ever did so was Yaotl.
But suddenly, out of nowhere, while Sarah expected Eloy to ask more questions about the beast, her father changed subjects completly.
"Where is the Daughter of the Sun ?"
Sarah was startled, but hid it.
"It looked like she was dying, so I immediatly asked our Shaman to heal her."
Eloy stayed silencious for a while, and then added:
"I'll get going then."
"Where ?"
"To see what this Daughter of the Sun looks like, of course."
