"Don't speak…" Hera said as she glanced at the door and noticed how it was damaged. She wanted to ask what had happened but she waited for the guards to return with Kane's meal.
"I had a feeling Jaden was here…" Kane muttered as he closed his eyes and shifted on the bed so that he could rest his back on a pillow there.
"When?" Hera asked with a high-pitched tone. She didn't like the sound of the half-breed being around Kane when he was in this state.
"When I arrived here, no one was present…"
"Hmm…" Kane hummed. He paced his hand over his face as he thought about the possibility of Jaden's return. He had done everything and set plans in motion to prevent the vermin from returning to Transmere. If Jaden would escape the ambush, there was no way he could have escaped the poison. He decided to make inquiries once he had some strength in his bones.
"There's an antidote, Kane?" Hera asked after some moments of silence.
"What are you talking about?"
