[Congratulations on completing the side quest "joining a dojo"!]
[Congratulations on obtaining 20 coins!]
[Congratulations on obtaining a new job " Ryozanpaku disciple"!]
As soon as I signed the paper Kensei gave me I received many new notifications. What interested me the most though was that new job so I immediately went to see its description.
[Job: "Ryozanpaku disciple"
Description:
A job accessible by joining the Ryozanpaku dojo and officially becoming a disciple.
Perks: +2 strength, +2 in speed, +2 in endurance, +2 agility, +2 charisma.]
Just reading the perks this job gave me made me my eyes widen in shock, I was expecting great perks but I would've never guessed that it would be +2 in almost every stat.
"Hmm so who want to start training them?" Furinji asked and took me out of my dazed state.
"What about letting them choose their first master?" Akisame replied.
"That's a good idea. So who do you guys want to be your master?" Akisame asked with a warm smile on his face, it seems like he was looking forward to having a disciple.
I would've liked starting with Sasaki since he could teach me many interesting techniques and that I needed the approval of every master to succeed the main quest, but I knew that he would for sure refuse and that I would need to earn his approval in another way.
Before I could finish thinking about who my future master should be Kenichi answered before me.
"Id like Akisame to train me" apparently Miu told him choosing akisame was the best for him right now so he followed her instructions.
Everyone approved of that choice then they all turned toward me who still haven't made my choice.
Miu also told me to choose akisame and that I would benefit the most from it but I had some second thoughts about that. For me who can only grow stronger through the system I knew that Akisame's training wouldn't actually strengthen my body and I also knew that he wouldn't teach me his technique at first.
"Hmm I believe that's the best choice." After thinking for a bit I finally came to a conclusion.
"Can Kensei Ma be my first teacher?" I asked with a small smile.
"Bahahahaha kid you have a great sight. I will be accepting you as my first disciple." His reaction was extremely happy but also the other masters sighed after hearing of my choice.
Miu looked at me in a worried way but Kensei seemed pretty happy about getting a disciple. As soon as me and Kenichi finalized our choice they didn't waste any time and directly made us head to training.
While Kenichi went through his hellish body training Kensei started teaching me the various stances of Chinese martial arts.
I was listening to him very seriously. I could feel that everything he was teaching me was extremely valuable. Not only did he teach me the movements but he also had a lot of knowledge about the human anatomy.
Unfortunately in the middle of the training a system notification took me out of my focus.
[Side quest:
Learning martial arts. (Difficulty E)
Description:
Learn the basics of 3 different martial arts.
Currently: 0/3
Reward: Rank F skill "mixed martial arts"]
Seeing the new quest that suddenly appeared in from of me I couldn't help but want to train even harder.
------
Those past few days I've been putting more and more efforts into training in Chinese martial arts and finally after a week the quest changed from 0/3 to 1/3.
I've finally learned the basics of it. I knew it wouldn't be easy but it was still way harder than I thought. I've been putting in all my free time into traininm, and exhausted my endurance every single day.
During that week all the teachers were amazed at my endurance, now that it reached 20 it could be considered at the limit of what a normal human in my past world could do.
Akisame already deemed me as a talented disciple and Kensei acknowledge my efforts. Now all that was left were Miu's grandpa, Apachai, Shigure and sasaki. 2 out of the 6 masters have acknowledged me.
"Master Kensei I'd like to also start training with Apachai starting from today." I asked while trying to be as respectful as possible, even if I knew he didn't have a bad temper I didn't want to upset him in any way.
"What? Are you sure? Apachai isn't really the best when it comes to controlling his strength." He said with an awkward smile.
He tried to make me understand that aphachai might injure me very badly or even break one of my limbs. But I knew what I needed to do in order to accomplish my goal, ever since coming to the ryozanpaku I feel like my mentality slowly changed more and more.
I never expected myself to ever say this but I was actually very excited to train with apachai, while Kenichi was almost crying about how he hated the harsh training I couldn't help but notice how different I've become.
Training was biggest joy recently, the feeling of learning new techniques and becoming stronger was so addictive that I wouldn't mind becoming and midget or shaving my whole head if it was what I needed to do in order to keep training here.
-------
*1 week later*
The training with apachai was nothing short from a high intensity sport like skydiving, it was way way harder than anything I expected but I've grown to slowly like it.
My blood was boiling 24/7, I had to always be on my guard and had to be way more attentive to little details, but that feeling was something I was slowly getting addicted to.
During my training with Ma Kensei I managed to succeed by relying on my high intelligence to understand everything he was teaching me.
Unfortunately my intelligence that I've been relying on ever since I came in this world was useless when it came to aphachai.
All his moves were excessively strong while also incredibly accurate but most of all, they were all unpredictable. He was like some kind of wild beast.
His pattern was very unpredictable and seemed to be relying on nothing else other than his instincts. Logic was useless against him, the only thing I could do was do my best to get instincts able to react to his.
Unfortunately that was easier said than done, my instincts improved by more than a dozens of times yet I still was nowhere near his level.
The training with apachai was the hardest for sure, I even had to use up 10 coins on buying energy replenishers just to be able to keep up with the level of training I was under.
But in turn that made me gain the respect of almost everyone in the dojo, even kenichi's random trainings with aphachai were very short and brief because he couldn't handle the intensity but I managed to stay standing for longer and longer each time we fought.
Luckily after a bit over a week I managed to gasp the basics of muay thai. That made it 2/3. I knew I should move on to another teacher but it was still hard for me to give up on my new favorite activity, sparring.
My main quest also advanced a lot since apachai ended up acknowledging me for always coming back to training, even shigure and Miu's grandfather acknowledged me after seeing my resolve while training with apachai, no matter how many times I ended up nearly half dead I always stood back up.
Unfortunately Sasaki was incredibly stubborn. Even after all that he was the only one who didn't acknowledge me nor did he accept to train me unlike he did with Kenichi. Probably because Kenichi already trained in karate prior to that while I had no base in martial arts.
During those 2 weeks Kenichi managed to beat his senpai in a fight. But now a group called Ragnarok were after him, I know that had to happen for his growth but I still felt very bad for him after seeing him worry so much.
But even then he still wanted to take care of it on his own, if not for him stopping me I would've went to his high school and helped him beat them all up.
I knew Kenichi needed to go through all of that to get stronger but I still promised myself to look over him as an older brother.
