Chapter 25 - Orc-Human War.1

King Ealdred of Midland, one of the three nations currently at war with the Orc nation, is a wise and experienced ruler. He knew that a confrontation with the elves was a perilous path. He had grown up listening to stories from his father about the legendary elf Galen, whose power was said to be unmatched. Galen defeated numerous monsters, including the Great Red Dragon of Flames, to save the World Tree Seed. Ealdred respected the elves and feared that a confrontation with them could bring his kingdom to doom.

At night, in King Ealdred's private chamber, there was a knock at the door. "Come in, Edin," Edin, the king's most trusted minister, entered the king's chamber, knowing why the king had called him this late at night. "Your Majesty, you called me," Edin replied worriedly. "Edin, do you think I'm being too greedy?" King Ealdred asked, a puzzled question directed at his minister. "Your Majesty, do you believe you are being greedy, or do you realize that you are being greedy?" Edin bravely answered the king's question.

"This is why I trust you, my friend. You always tell me the truth without fear. I don't need people who always say that I'm right; I also need people to tell me at times like this that I'm wrong," the king smiled, as if a heavy stone had been lifted from his chest. "Your Majesty, I believe you can sleep peacefully now," Edin said to the king in a friendly manner. "Edin, prepare to go to the Elf Forest tomorrow morning secretly. Do take note that no one finds out about my travel to the elf forest," the king said in a serious tone. "Yes, Your Majesty," Edin replied, knowing very well why the king wanted to keep the travel a secret.

As Ealdred contemplated the growing tension between the human nations and the orc-elf alliance, he made a fateful decision. He would embark on a journey to the elf village personally to initiate diplomatic negotiations and prevent a devastating conflict.

Ealdred's journey to the elf village was met with curiosity and caution from his own minister. Edin knew the risks involved, but he also understood the king's determination to find a peaceful solution.

Upon reaching the Elf Forest, Ealdred was greeted by the serene beauty of the forest and the elegant architecture of the elven dwellings. It was a stark contrast to the rugged landscapes of human territories.

In the heart of the forest, King Ealdred and his minister, Edin, were surrounded by the elf warriors. "Humans, state your purpose as to why you are here," an elf warrior said. "We are not here to cause any harm. I'm Edin, a minister of the Midland kingdom, and with me is the King of your great nation, King Ealdred Midfall the III," Edin said, calming the situation and revealing their identities.

"A king or not, it has nothing to do with us. This is your land, and humans are not allowed here," said the elf warrior expressionlessly. Edin, angered, said, "You elves, do you know..." "Enough, Edin, we are not here to fight," but before Edin could finish his words, King Ealdred stopped him and got off his horse. "This is a token that my father received from your Chief Galen. With this, I have the right to talk to your chief."
