Chapter 21 - Chapter 21 Escape

"Bang!"

The fireball Harry threw out hit the monkey in an instant, followed by a cry of pain. However, to Harry's surprise, there were no damage numbers floating above the monkey's head.

Just as Harry frowned and felt puzzled, a strange scene happened in the next second.

The fireball hit the monkey, and although no damage numbers appeared, the monkey dissipated into a crystalline light amidst its screams. The large pouch on its back shattered, revealing several shiny items scattered on the ground.

At the same time, the fireball hitting the monkey caused a loud explosion. The Spider Boss in the distance suddenly turned around, spotted Harry, and let out a screech before charging towards him at a speed several times faster than before.

Seeing the Spider Boss rushing towards him in a frenzy, Harry's expression changed. He felt the entire cave tremble, and although he had already anticipated this, he didn't expect the Spider Boss to become so aggressive, its momentum completely different from before.

Without a moment's hesitation, Harry quickly bent down, picked up all the items scattered on the ground without examining them closely, and turned to run.

Ding!

[System Prompt: Server-wide announcement, Faction Establishment System activated.]

...

The system announcement echoed three times, reaching all online players. They were momentarily surprised but didn't show much emotion. After all, the Faction Establishment Token was bound to appear sooner or later, and it didn't concern them directly. They went back to their monster-killing and questing activities.

However, the situation was different for the various large and small clans, especially the influential figures behind them. Upon hearing the system announcement, their faces changed, and their minds were shaken.

The activation of the Faction Establishment System meant that a player had obtained a Faction Establishment Token.

Soon after the system announcement, the various large clans quickly took action and spread the news to search for players who had obtained the Faction Establishment Token at a high price.

At this moment, the various large clans were all restless. This system prompt c could bring both benefits and drawbacks for them.

On the positive side, The Faction Establishment Token could only be used in the main city, and the only condition to go to the main city was for the player to reach Level 10. So far, no player reached Level 10.

If a solo player obtained the Faction Establishment Token, it would give the clans time to search and potentially buy it at a high price. After all, a solo player who obtained the order wouldn't establish a faction themselves but would likely sell it for a hefty sum.

For a clan, the money involved was inconsequential. On the contrary, they would be happy that a solo player had obtained the Faction Establishment Token for them.

On the negative side, all the major clans were competing for the Faction Establishment Token. If a certain clan Managed to snatch it, it would be a severe blow to the remaining clans.

Establishing a faction for the first time not only could grant mysterious rewards from the system but also allowed them to choose the best location for their headquarters.

Apart from that, the most important thing was to be one step ahead of others. They could recruit a large number of solo players, gain fame, and establish the prestige of their clans, and so on. The benefits were numerous, which explained why the major clans were in such a hurry to spread the news and search for the player with the Faction Establishment Token.

Of course, Harry was unaware of all of this. He was currently focused on escaping with all his might, with the Spider Boss relentlessly chasing after him.

Ding!

[System Prompt: In combat, unable to exit the game.]

Harry wasn't surprised by the system prompt, as he was still in combat due to his earlier use of the fireball skill.

"25"

"24"

"23"

"..."

Harry counted in his heart. There were still 20 seconds before he could end the battle and log off.

When he first entered the game, Harry learned that once engaged in combat, he couldn't log out. He had to wait for 30 seconds to pass and for the battle status to be lifted before he could quit the game.

The way he had thought of before was to quit the game. Compared to the risk of running away, he finally chose to quit the game.

After all, the risk of escaping was too high. The Spider Boss's speed was terrifyingly fast, and he would need wings to escape.

30 seconds might seem like a brief moment at other times, but for Harry, now, each second felt agonizingly slow.

The Spider Boss was chasing after Harry relentlessly, and in a matter of moments, it was already close to Harry. It seemed that it would only take a few seconds for it to catch up with Harry.

However, there were still 10 seconds left before he could exit the game. Harry's eyes turned red. He didn't dare look back at the Spider Boss but instead focused on sprinting forward with all his might.

He quickly reached the exit of the cave, but the spider had caught up. Its front legs lifted high and struck at Harry with tremendous speed, creating a whistling sound.

Harry was shocked. He did not expect the Spider Boss to be so fast. It was much faster than he had expected.

Looking at the exit of the cave, Harry didn't hesitate. He gritted his teeth and threw himself forward, passing through the gap in the cave directly.

"Bang!"

Harry's body fell heavily to the ground, rolling several times. The damage number "-10" floated above his head. He had only 5 seconds left before he could log out.

There were still 5 seconds left. Harry looked back and saw that the Spider Boss was blocked by the spider webs. However, it broke through in just a second and continued its rapid pursuit.

As Harry rolled several times and struggled to get up from the ground, he wasted some precious time, allowing the Spider Boss to close the distance instantly.

To Harry's surprise, even after leaving the cave, the Spider Boss was still chasing him. It seemed to treat Harry's intrusion as a grave offense, relentlessly pursuing him until he was killed.

There were still 3 seconds left. The Spider Boss caught up with Harry once again. It raised its two front legs high and immediately stabbed at him. It was too fast and there was no way to dodge it.

At this moment, Harry looked up and could clearly see the spikes on the front feet of the Spider Boss.

With 2 seconds left, the Spider's front legs were only a few feet away from Harry.

With 1 second left, the spider's front legs were already above Harry's head.

"Boom!"

A loud boom reverberated as the Spider Boss's attack landed, kicking up a cloud of dust and shaking the ground.

The surroundings fell silent, and time seemed to freeze. When the dust settled, there was no Harry's corpse. He had disappeared, leaving no trace.

The Spider Boss let out a screech, sniffed around, and hesitated for a while. After confirming that there was no one there, it turned slowly and went back.

...

Taking off his helmet, Harry wiped the cold sweat off his forehead. Fortunately, he had succeeded.

He was just a hair's breadth away from the Spider Boss. It was so close that Harry's vision had been replaced by the Spider Boss's huge front legs. He could clearly see the sharp spikes gleaming at the tips of its legs. If he had been hit, there was no doubt he would have been instantly killed and sent back to the city.

Looking out the window, the sun was already shining brightly. Harry checked the time. It was already past 12 o'clock noon, but he didn't feel tired at all. It was as if entering the game was like taking a nap, a dreamlike experience.

Scratching his hair, Harry set the game helmet aside and then went to the kitchen to heat some food. Afterward, he headed to the bathroom to take a shower.
