Chapter 13 - Demonic relic

"What kind of request should I ask him? I really have no idea," Seraphine immersed in thought, contemplating the best deal to propose.

"Well, I think the best choice is a request that can benefit both you and the young master," Alice responded in Seraphine's mind. However, Seraphine still struggled to grasp the meaning.

"This option might come with risks, but I suggest you ask the young master for permission to explore the wasteland," Alice explained further.

"The wasteland? Do you mean searching for the Demonic relic?" Seraphine understood Alice's suggestion, but she couldn't believe that Alice was truly proposing such a daring idea.

"Yes, the Demonic relic plays a significant role in the events of the novel. Obtaining it could provide us with many advantages," Alice affirmed.

"I understand the importance of the relic, but isn't it too dangerous?" Seraphine questioned, skeptical about venturing into the dungeon to retrieve the Demonic relic.

"While the relic itself carries risks, the dungeon itself is devoid of traps or enemies. Moreover, it holds numerous treasures that could greatly aid the estate's finances," Alice explained.

"Shouldn't we simply take the treasure and flee?" Seraphine asked Alice again, but Alice had already addressed this concern earlier.

"As I mentioned, even if you acquire wealth from selling the treasure, living outside alone without identity or authority is too perilous. It would be wiser to gain the young master's favor and forge a better relationship with him ," Alice advised and pop up a text emoji to Seraphine .[ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ]

"If you insist, then I will follow your lead," Seraphine took a deep breath to steady herself and mustered the courage to approach the young master.

"Young master, may I request permission to visit the wasteland near the Ornstein territory?" Seraphine asked, hoping to convey her intention. However, Damian appeared perplexed by her query.

"Why do you want to go there? You know that area is teeming with dangerous monsters," Damian questioned, his confusion evident.

The wasteland is known for its monstrous inhabitants and the pollution that has affected the territory's agriculture and habitation. The sole reason for these problems was a Demonic relic buried in the dungeon underground if we got the relic out of the land. The wasteland definitely returns to its former condition, like in the novel.

Seraphine's eyes sparkled with determination as she met Damian's gaze, her voice unwavering. "Young master, I am well aware of the dangers that lie within the wasteland. However, the pollution plaguing the land poses a significant problem for the estate. I genuinely believe that by observing the wasteland and finding a solution, I can help make a difference. Your support is crucial in this endeavor."

Damian's curiosity deepened as he absorbed Seraphine's words. He could sense the sincerity in her voice and saw the fire in her eyes. The notion of overcoming the wasteland's challenges and uncovering a remedy intrigued him greatly.

Determined to fully understand her intentions, Damian posed a question. "Are you confident that observing the wasteland will truly contribute to resolving our problems?" His eyes bore into Seraphine's, seeking reassurance.

With unwavering resolve, Seraphine held Damian's gaze, her voice steady. "Yes, young master, I fully comprehend the risks involved. With your support, I firmly believe we can make a significant impact."

Admiration flickered in Damian's eyes as he observed Seraphine's unwavering determination. He recognized the genuine desire she held to help their estate and admired her resilience.

"Very well, Seraphine. I grant you permission to explore the wasteland. However, I emphasize that your safety is of utmost importance. Do not take unnecessary risks," Damian instructed, his tone serious yet infused with a hint of concern. "I will ensure that a select group of guards accompanies you to provide protection."

Seraphine's expression softened with gratitude. "Thank you for entrusting me with this task, young master. I assure you, I will exert my utmost efforts to accomplish it."

"Now, you should prepare for tomorrow's expedition. I grant you special permission to get a full rest after this. You are dismissed," Damian instructed, ensuring that Seraphine would have ample time to recharge before their journey.

"But, Young master, what about the refreshments I brought?" Seraphine inquired, her gaze shifting to the tray of afternoon tea that she had prepared.

"No need to worry. I can enjoy them myself. I can imagine that using your brain for all the calculations must be quite tiresome," Damian responded with a gentle smile, his eyes filled with compassion and understanding, a stark contrast to their initial encounter.

"I understand. Then, rest well, young master," Seraphine said, rising from the ground and exiting the room with a polite bow, leaving Damian alone with his thoughts and the set of tea.

"It has been quite some time since I poured tea for myself," Damian mumbled to himself, reaching for an exquisite teapot and carefully pouring the steaming liquid into his cup.

As Damian took a sip, he noticed the unique blend of the tea—a vibrant red hue infused with milk and sugar. Its aroma wafted through the air, enveloping him in a comforting embrace.

"It appears that you possess talent in everything you do, Seraphine," Damian remarked softly, a note of admiration in his voice, as he leisurely swirled his tea cup.

"I will be eagerly awaiting your return, Don't you dare get hurt over there," Damian whispered, his gaze fixed upon the sky outside the window, his thoughts consumed by the brave young slave who had entered his life and captured his curiosity.
