The floor radiated a purple fluorescence as it dissipated into nothingness. Veralia climbed out of the basement and the entrance quickly sealed itself all the while camouflaging as the floor. She looked at her and sighed. Fina sat at the table looking out the window as she sluggishly ate the cripie she had made for her. The brilliant golden light flooding in through the window illuminated her delicate small body.
(Enischy should take his responsibilities seriously.) Veralia thought.
She patted her head. Fina's eyes teared up.
"Did I do something wrong?" Fina asked amidst sobs.
"No, of course not dear." Veralia said as she embraced her.
"But Enischy doesn't want to play with me!"
"No that's not it dear," Veralia said wiping off the tears cascading down her cheeks,"Ergon is just being selfish with Enischy."
"He's stupid!" She said, an intense hatred flaring in her crimson red eyes. Veralia lightly pinched her cheeks.
"That's not a good thing to say about your brother"
"But-"
"It's just for today dear," she said caressing her cheek, "You'll play with him all day tomorrow."
"Really?"
Veralia nodded and smiled at her.
"Then I'll wait!" She said in her usual cheerful voice.
"Good gir-
Suddenly, Veralia went silent. A cold sweat ran down her countenance.
BOOM!
A sudden explosion was heard from the outside. The ground shook violently as if fearing for what is to come. She rushed outside and left Fina inside. Finaria pounced from the house's roof onto the ground with a mighty thud. She was growling as she stared up into the sky. Dark clouds were quickly engulfing the sky. From horizon to horizon. Veralia shook. She could hardly believe what she was seeing.
(How is one of them here?!-)
More bolts of lightning struck pounded the Earth. Some struck the huts in the village setting them ablaze. The savannah was already being consumed by an enraged inferno.
(-Without any warnings or signs!)
Massive white portals formed within the clouds. With the largest one being at the centre. Suddenly, something terrifying was heard. She hadn't heard it in a long time. Something she had nearly forgotten to fear. A mighty roar was heard from within the largest portal, the force of which blasted through the land, uprooting trees in their entirety, blowing away dozens of huts clean of the land and, for those unlucky enough to be in open fields, swept away people beyond the dark horizons and towards the ocean. Finaria roared, the force of which protected her and the house from being blasted away by the shockwave.
(A STORM DUNGEON!)
She quivered, eyes wide open, heart palpitating wildly. She couldn't believe it. She didn't want to believe it. However, reality was much crueller. The sheer destructive power of something as simple as a roar was evidence enough of it's presence. A beast she had only seen in the Anuib mountain range. Though she could feel a difference in ki signature from the beast within the portal than the one she and her husband had come across, it still didn't deter from how terrifying it's presence was.She was snapped back to reality when Finaria growled at her as she slapped her with her long slender tail. Indeed, this wasn't the time to be distracted for beasts had already started appearing from the portals.
Massive birds with red hooked beaks, huge yellow eyes bulging out from the side of their heads, a long neck, collosal wings with white feathers with red tinted edges and long curved talons on their feet descended from their portals.
Instantly, brilliant azure light surrounded Veralia as strange symbols engraved themselves onto her right arm. A two-pronged spear appeared, one prong being more elongated and curved than the other with the same strange symbols swirling all round the red spear as they emitted a silver radiance. She had to quickly prepare for the onslaught to come.
The birds high above all uniformly shit out their feathers towards the Earth in a massive barrage piercing through anything in their path. Spear in hand, she swiftly deflected the feathers heading to her house with the finesse of a master. She quickly followed it up by launching her spear up at them. The spear streaked across the sky in it's glorious starry azure light and pierced through the heart of a beast. It suddenly split into two, then four, then eight and so on as the now numerous spears continued piercing through the hearts of the beasts. Within seconds the sky was clear of all beasts, their hollow bodies falling to the ground. With one swift motion from her hand, all the spears stopped the motion. More beasts continuously poured out the portals. She snapped her fingers instantly making the spears explode with ferocious force colouring the sky an intense red luminosity. Not even the blood of the beasts was left in this plane of existence. Such was the furious power of Veralia. The spear reformed beside her in it's full brilliance. Though she was now panting heavily and her eyes looked drained. The symbols had now climbed all the way up to her face.Despite the one sided slaughter more beasts dropped down from the portals. This time, a different breed.
(From Awkrions to Orcs... This isn't good.)
Green 8 foot humanoid giants with red hair and tattoos all over their body landed in droves. Their muscular arms as thick as a tree trunk held on to massive axes. They had some armor padding on their upper body and a loin cloth on their lower body. She scanned through the village. The warriors that could fight valiantly faced the Orcs. However, they were being pushed back. The Awkrions barrage had dealt immense damage to the defensive capabilities of the village. Many warriors had died, others had lost a limb or it's functionality had practically been halved but most of them were going to bleed out to death if not treated immediately. Things were getting desperate by the second. She quickly turned to Finaria.
"Protect her," she said as she quickly leapt into the fray of the fighting.
***
The village chief's homestead walls had been breached long ago. The chief, his guards and his concubines were quickly rushing to the bunker Strox had built for the chief at the opposite side of his expansive homestead. Orcs were in full pursuit bloodlust and lust could be seen in their eyes. His guards were quickly being overwhelmed by the sheer number of Orcs assaulting.
"Useless!" He screamed to his dying men.
He turned to his concubines.
"What're you waiting for?! Use your bodies!"
They were stunned.
"What're you acting all shocked for?! It's the only thing you women are good for!"
There was an eery silence.
"W-we can't do that!" Responded one of them bravely. She was 14 years of age but a brave girl she was.The others nodded in agreement and started object.
He turned to one of his guards.
"Kill her!"
This visibly shook the guard and the women.
"What're you waiting for!! Do it!"
The man hesitantly approached the woman. She backed off and stared at him in disbelief.
"Y-you won't do it, right big brother?" She asked tenderly.
The man hesitated for a moment.
"You know what happens when a person disobeys me right?" The chief said.
The man shook, tears welled up in his eyes. He bit his lip. He raised his sword.
"Brother! You can't do this to me!" She said crawling and grabbing his legs, "Don't you lo-"
The man kicked his sister away. Her eyes teared up as it met his cold teary eyes. He decapitated his sister. The head flew in the air for a moment, her eyes still fixated on her brother's eyes. The body shook violently as blood gushed out of it's neck. It fell to the ground a few moments after with a distinctive thud. The man stared at his sister's corpse for a while as the chief snickered.
"You're all replaceable!" He yelled, "if you disobey me further your families will know pain."
They were all silenced. Some shivered, others cried but all fell into despair. The chief minded it not. He only had to escape. It was only difficult because he wasn't here.
(Where is that bastard when you need him!)
As they continued rushing toward the bunker, an orc managed to get past the warriors whose numbers were thinning. Abruptly, one of the women tripped another and she fell with a distinctive thud. She looked up only for her face to be pushed into the ground by the orc's massive hands. It was panting heavily. It ripped her clothes off and pulled her hips towards it's fully erect penis. She screamed begging for help but everyone had already left her. The orc grinned as its penis teared through her vagina. With every pumping action blood spurted out as she screamed in agony to the horror of the remaining women. The orcs were more determined to catch up to them as they tore through the rear guard and onwards towards them. Just as the chief approached the bunker there was only one woman left, shivering, crying and bloodied.
(Well at least I'll have something to ease my stress) The chief thought.
Before he could open the entrance l, an orc landed In front of them.
"Go on distra-
The orc decapitated the woman instantly. The chief shrieked and fell onto his bottom make his whole fatty body ripple. He put up his flabby arms in a crude attempt at defending himself. The orc lifted it's axe. Blood spurted everywhere.
***
An orc rushed up behind a man but with one swift turn from the man, his broadsword cut the orc in half. More orcs came in greater numbers but the man lifted his mighty weapon and struck the ground with such tectonic force as to blast all orcs around him far beyond the dark clouds. He looked around. Mandriulli were now landing. The combination of the orcs' unending stamina and the Mandriulli's ferrocity led to casualty numbers quickly stacking up. The warriors were being pushed back, many of them being injured.
"Hey you bastards! Catch!" Shouted Rimache from behind them.
He was throwing a bunch of calabashes at them. Some warriors caught them and immediately started drinking the continents. Their wounds quickly healed.
"Finally!" Shouted the men.
With renewed vigour they cut down at the orcs as the remaining warriors were treated by Rimache.
"Kungatha ne-
"Heal my men first," he cut in.
He shut his eyes and took a deep breathe. He opened them, his eyes glowing a bright amber radiance. His breathe had become hot as his muscles bulged and veins popped from his skin. He instantly disappeared. The bodies of the surrounding beasts were instantly decimated. Rimache clicked his tongue.
"What an actor," he said casually.
The man groaned.
"Oh shut up! You're a man deal with it," Quipped Rimache as he treated the man's cut off left arm. He noticed a golden light coming from the chief's homestead. He sighed.
"The Poor man is back."
Kungatha obliterated any orc or Mandriulli in his path all the while rescuing the surviving villagers. Though he wouldn't be able to keep this up for long. Using the first, second and third limiters simultaneously was detrimental at best. However, he had to keep this up for who knows what else would drop out of those portals.
He felt a mighty gust of wind pulling at him. He looked over and saw a massive tornado over the chief's homestead. He could see beasts being pulled into it. Abruptly, it dissipated a golden light appeared above all the now floating beasts. Afterwards, the ground shook tremendously. He was back.
(If only he weren't so hooked onto the chief) Kungatha thought and sighed.
In the distance he could see Veralia had joined in the fight and was guiding some children and elderly toward the coast.
(Of course! The cave!)
She really was a fast thinker. Moreover, she was composed even in a time of crisis like this. He had never met a woman like her in his life before.
(How in the world did the Gathron-
He shook his head. Now was not the time. He had to guide the rest of the people to the cave. They'd have to turn this from an all out brawl to a war of attrition. With Rimache's help, he was confident they would last.
***
Blood erupted from the neck. A golden axe floated. The chief shrieked in disgust. Before the chief was a collosal man, more massive than the orcs themselves with long and beautiful golden hair that were too heavy to freely flow with the wind and eyes that only looked at what he was supposed to.
"What took you so long!" The chief yelled.
From his left arm, a chubby boy lept into the chief's arms all the while crying.
"There. There," he said as he patted his head, "you're in papa's strong arms now."
"Why is he crying!" The chief whispered as he embraced the child.
On his right arm, a girl tightly in the mighty man's embrace quivered. He held her closer to him.
"The orcs... scared the boy," he responded.
"Huh?! Then isn't that thing of yours crying too!" The chief retorted.
She quivered. "Papa," she said, her eyes teary, as she lifted her hands at him.
The man gave her his hand. She grabbed it and placed it next to her cheek. She was calmer now.
"Tch! I don't get you. Why put in so much for a daughter. Betrothed her to someone and be done with it," the chief stated.
She looked up at him. Her eyes bright and clear. One that he could freely sink into. He smiled. She smiled and giggled.
"Just get rid of the orcs," said the chief, " they're waiting for you anyway."
The man put her down.
She flailed her delicate arms, "Papa!"
He kissed her on the forehead and put up a golden barrier around her. He did the same for the chief. He turned. The orcs shivered. Unlike most beasts, it was near impossible for them to be unaware of the strength a man was hiding. The man stared at them. Abruptly, large swirls originating from his chest started imprinting themselves onto his body. His muscles bulged, a golden aura surrounded him as his eyes shone a brilliant golden colour. Calmly, he took a step forward. Instantly, golden spears erupted from the ground and pierced through all of them. Mandriulli started dropping from the portals. They quickly rushed at the man as all the orcs quickly took off. However, the man wasn't going to let any beast get away. He grabbed one of the spears protruding from the ground and with a mighty heave, swung it all round, decimating all the Mandriulli rushing at him. The shockwave of the attack levelled what remained of the chief's homestead. He held the spear above his head and spun it rapidly, sucking in all surrounding beasts. He stopped and swiftly lept into the air. A golden spear materialised next to him. He grabbed it and pulled back his arm. His muscles flexed powerfully as he launched the spear downwards at the beasts. The ground shook from the force of the spear's impact. The man landed with a thud.
"You stupid beast of a man! You destroyed my homestead," The chief shouted
The man looked around. Indeed, not even the foundation of his stone house was left in place
The man bowed. His daughter rushed out of the barrier and towards him.
"Oh boohoo, you apologized, I'll just forgive yo- My house is still gone!" The chief retorted, "You dare treat me like this after all I've done for you!"
The man picked up his daughter in his arms.
"It's only because of me you can hold it like that!"
He nodded.
"Set up a barrier around my homestead already! Don't want any vermin getting in,"
The man looked down at the villagers, "What about the-
"What part of vermin don't you understand?!"
The man sighed and put up a large golden barrier around the homestead.
***
Kungatha had caught up with Veralia and her group of villagers. The two groups merged and rushed forward. Time was of the essence. Veralia was upfront taking the charge, Kungatha was the rear guard while the rest of the warriors ensured security from the sides and carry the weak elderly and children who couldn't keep up with the group. Abruptly they spotted a large golden barrier appear around the chief's homestead. He sighed.
(If only Kiriku wasn't so hooked onto the chief) He thought.
Suddenly, he heard screams erupt from all sides of the group. He saw a man flying across the sky back toward the village. Before he could even identify the assailant he heard it. A wild contorted laugh erupted everywhere. The laughter sent chills down his spine.
(Ostrogorths of all things!)
A warrior tried running away to who knows where in fear but an Ostrogorth instantly claimed his head. It opened it's jaws, nay it was more unhinging than opening, and effortlessly swallowed his head. The towering figure stood motionless as it turned to face the terrified group. It's arms was as long as an adult male, it's knees were backbending, a skinny frame that hid it's enormous power and a face without eyes nor nose nor ears. It didn't need them. For it could feel the fear within it's prey. It cackled. More and more appeared all around them cackling all the while.
"Damned warriors! What're you waiting for! We have children here!" A woman shouted at them. The rest following suit as the beasts continued tearing through their defenses.
They didn't seem to understand the situation they were in. Ostrogorths usually lived in packs of ten. They needn't any more. For ten of them were enough for them to climb to the upper echelon of the food chain or even wipe out a village. However, these weren't just ten Ostrogorths but HUNDREDS! How such territorial beasts could gather in such numbers was a mystery held within those white portals above. Not to mention there were other beasts such as Orcs and Mandriulli thrown into the mix.
An Ostrogorth launched toward him. He barely managed to block it's claw attack but his foot dug into the ground. He was lucky he had his first limiter activated otherwise he'd be cut in half. He pushed it back and followed it up with a downward slash but the beast quickly sidestepped and kicked in him in the face. His head reeled back from the force, blood spurting from his nose. He grit his teeth. He let go of his sword and grabbed the beast's foot. Using his left foot as a ln axle he slammed the thing I to the ground but he knew that wasn't enough. He grabbed his sword to finish it off but yet another tried to plunge it's hand into his chest. He quickly dodged and took a step back. However, the beasts had sliced off some of his flesh. It smiled at him, it's contorted smile displaying it's razor sharp interlocking teeth. This was dire.
He clicked his tongue. He spat out blood. The limiters were pushing his body to extremes he hadn't felt in a long time. It was time to use it for the first time in two years. His blood continuously trickled to the ground.
"Oh righteous ancestors, hear thy prayer!"
As soon as the other warriors had this they moved in to protect him. The people were flabbergasted and threw a whole hurricane of insults to the warriors. Though they didn't mind. For this was possibly their only shot.
"You fought off great evils to give us these fertile lands. To ensure our continuity. But oh great father's! We have fallen prey to the very evil you fought off! Your sons daughters scream and cry for thy names fathers! Hear our cries and grant us your protection! Father's, strike with a ferocious vengeance all that wishes destruction against your offspring! Hear us!"
Instantly, hundreds of beams of amber light struck all around them and some even struck some beasts. From the light emerged titanic men all decorated with tattoos, each one the hundreds of beasts they had slaughtered in their lifetime. They all were a large togas over their crotches, no more. They needed no more The smallest man, a grinning man, a confident grin, lifted his war axe.
"Men, our children wish for VIOLENCE and we shall deliver!"
The men roared and charged at the beasts. An Ostrogorth tried charging at one of the men but he quickly grabbed it's head and smashed it into the ground. The force of which sent all unlucky beasts around him flying, massive pillars appeared from the ground. They glowed a brilliant red and all warriors instantly felt their muscles bulge powerfully. A feeling of invulnerability engulfed them. Yet another one of the men clapsed his hands and 3 beast king level beasts appeared. The first was a massive scaly three headed beasts with no limbs. With a shine from it's eyes all beasts in it's path turned to stone. The other beast was the smallest of all of them. It was covered all over with dark individual plating down to it's two tails that had large bulbous ends. Suddenly the plating around it's tails ends separated and circled round the hole formed. Abruptly, a loud explosion tore across the land and beasts. The plating around it's head disappeared to reveal a large hole. Blindingly bright golden light gathered within it lighting up it's interior a golden colour. The light flashed for a moment then a massive inferno erupted accompanied by a deafening explosion. The beast continued bombarding the beasts. The third was a gloomy figure floating above the man. It was covered in a dirty and old rag only it's red eyes visible for the world to see. It poked out it's long grey hands and drew symbols in the air. Promptly, a massive purple sphere appeared above the battlefield. The beast opened it's palm and slowly lowered it. The beasts and surrounding landscape were crushed by a titanic force. The ground shook as if in pain from the force of the attack. The being swiftly closed it's palm and all beasts were rapidly pulled towards the sphere being crushed as more and more beasts piled on.
Many more fantastical displays of power were beholden by the people leaving them all but see struck. Within an instance of their appearance, the ocean of beasts had been halved and it looked like the land would be clean if beasts in a short while. These men were their ancestors.
"Where did it all go wrong?" A warrior said as he smirked.
Abruptly, Kungatha dropped onto his knees and spewed blood from his mouth. The warriors supported him. He felt as if all his innards were mush. He couldn't stand. He felt like just closing his eyes and resting. Quickly two warriors supported him.
"Don't you dare close your eyes!" Yelled a warrior. "Not until we get to the SafeZone!" yelled the other as he held Kungatha's eyelids open.
That's right he had to remain conscious lest they lose their upper hand. They now had the upper hand but it would only last a short period. They had to capitalize on this opportunity. They restarted their advance. Now moving doubly fast. The warriors carried Kungatha at the head of the group. The ancestors protected them as they charged forth. Rimache rushed to where Kungatha was and constantly healed him with his ,last , high grade portion. It didn't do much for his mental burden but it helped with his physical at least. He held Kungatha's face.
"You best hold on! We're depending on you!"
Kungatha weakly nodded. The cliff was rapidly approaching them.
"Everyone jump!" Yelled a warrior.
"Off a cliff! Are you insa-" said on of the villagers
The warrior kicked him down, "It's either that or being devoured!" He yelled to the others.
They hesitated. Abruptly their ancestors started fading. Instantly, everyone rushed to jump off the cliff. Some warriors jumped down with the weak and helped those who sprained their ankles at the bottom get into the cave. Rimache looked back for a moment. The warriors were tensed. Even the ever serious Kungatha.
"I'll inherit your wives don't worry!" He yelled.
"What!" The warriors responded, some smirking
"It's too early to say that old man," a 15 year old warrior responded.
"Best live then," he said nonchalantly as he jumped off the cliff.
"Damn bastard," Kungatha responded struggling to his feet, "he couldn't handle my wife."
The men laughed.
"You sure you wanna say that infornt of her?" Said a warrior pointing at Veralia.
"No I'm fine with it," she said smiling.
"Cause she's difficult too!" Quipped another warrior. They all laughed.
"That's mean!" Veralia said pouting.
"When all of this is over I so need a new wife," Quipped a warrior. The others laughed.
"You guys are lucky you have wives!" Responded a young warrior.
"Don worry! After this you're gonna get one," said an older veteran patting his head.
They looked over at their ancestors. One ancestor after the other were now disappearing. Until their leader was the only one left. He looked back.
"Do me proud my children!" He said as he waved at them, disappearing.
"You heard him! Charge!" Kungatha yelled as he wobbled and started running towards the beasts.
The men rushed at the beasts. An Ostrogorth caught a warrior off guard but a spear quickly impaled it's head. He charged forth and killed an orc. Veralia stood behind the warriors. She had summoned five more spears. All an exact replica. However, the strange symbols on her body were now all the way down to her hip. The pain was nearly unbearable but it was necessary. Her head wondered for a bit. She wondered where Strox and Enischy were. She was worried, however, now was not the time for that. She had to focus. She could only hope they were safe. She and the warriors charged at the beasts, the kill to death ratio was in their favour but it wasn't something to smile at. One death for them was catastrophic but they had no choice other than to fight.
After a long tough battle, the end was near and the end was a victory. However, they were quickly reminded, they hadn't even begun the main event. Abruptly, the same terrifying roar was heard. Thousands upon thousands of most the previous beasts started dropping from the portals. The cacophony of the Ostrogorths meniscal laughter, the orcs war cries and the Mandriulli's screeching crafted a terrifying and chilling atmosphere. The stage was set.
A column of golden red fire spewed from within the portal hitting the earth beneath it and scorching it beyond recognition. The beast reared its red head out the portal, it's red horns displayed to the world. It's silver white neck emitted a faint golden red light. It's massive scaly body bloated the portal as it emerged. Massive wings that seemed to touch both ends of the horizons. It's long tail snaked out the portal. It had conspicuous holes along it. It was a beauty to behold. It was a terror to acknowledge. Veralia didn't know whether to be relieved or horrified. Indeed it wasn't the beast she had so fearfully awaited but it was a relative of it. A wyvern. She had learnt of it in the imperial library. It was a beast whose firepower was matched by no known beasts at the time if one didn't count the beasts of legends. As she looked up at it, she wondered how they could even defeat such a beast.
(Hope he comes back soon)
***
The man looked up in a mixture of horror, confusion and awe. He had never seen such a beast. He had only encountered one beast similar in size. The giants of the eastern plains. However, unlike the giants, this beast didn't seem willing to open negotiations. The chief and his son shrieked as they held onto each other. His daughter sat still looking up at him. Calmly. Gently. Warmly. The chief clicked his tongue.
"What're you waiting for Kirik-
The wyvern's neck started glowing a brilliant golden red colour. The fire within the beast built up and erupted out of it's jaws and crashed into Kiriku's shield. The force of which shook the shield as he struggled to maintain it. However, the power was far too great for this large shield. He erased the shield and quickly moved closer to his daughter and the chief as the fire barrelled towards them. He erected a wedge shaped barrier before them and split the fire into two, bypassing them completely. Despite that, he could feel a portion of his barrier had melted off. He was shocked. No beast he had come across had ever managed to even dent his barrier. Yet this beast did so in mere seconds. He had to get serious.
He swiftly launched himself off the ground and landed a powerful kick onto the beasts lower jaw. The wyvern's head reeled backwards but something felt off to Kiriku. Immediately, the wyvern swang it's head back down slamming Kiriku into the ground. He spat out some blood but quickly got up. The wyvern used it's fire breath again. However, Kiriku formed a massive spear and sent it right through the fire. It hit the wyvern's lower jaw forcibly closing it. He continued shooting more spears at it. Though they didn't pierce the wyvern it did at least distract it for a moment. A moment that he capitalized. He formed massive hammer above the wyvern and instantly smashed it into the ground. The Earth shook from the collosal force of the titan crashing into the ground but Kiriku wouldn't allow it a moment to catch a breath. He formed massive chains around the wyvern's limbs and wings. Another all round the main body to keep it chained to the ground. He quickly leapt up and raised his hand forming ultra thin barriers. This was a last ditch effort. The ki consumption of having activated manifestation was immense. He had decided. He launched the barrier at it and then dozens more in an attempt to atleast breakthrough it's tough armor. Dust rose up hampering his visual on the beast. However, he could easily sense that his attacks had barely pierced through it's armour. Suddenly, an inferno erupted. The heat nearly knocked him out but he was able to retreat just in time. His chains were melted off completely. The dust cleared. The wyvern had a flaming crown upon it's head, flames erupted from the thin spaces between it's scales and it's tail's holes now had sword shaped flames erupting from it. All it's surroundings were burnt to the ground by it's mere presence. He launched a spear at it but it just passed through it as it melted. Physical attacks were proving to be null and void.
He couldn't beat it. It was too powerful. He swiftly retreated to where his daughter was. She looked a bit worried but her adorably small face lit up once she saw him. She lifted her arms. He picked her up. She curled up in his arms. Enjoying the protection and warmth offered by his masculine frame.
"What're you doing here! It's still alive!" The chief yelled at him.
"I advise a retreat," he responded calmly.
"What! Useless! Do you even know why I've allowed you to live here for so long!Huh!Do you?!" The chief yelled.
The man just stared at him.
"You knew the deal! I offer medicine, you kill anything I want!"
His daughter coughed. A gentle cough. Kiriku's face immediately turned ashen. The chief smirked.
"Either you do as I say or no more medicine!"
Kiriku stared at him. It wasn't his usual stare. No. There was something sinister in those eyes. He remembered what Rimache had told him. The chief always gave him just enough of his blood to make the required medicine but not enough to make one that could cure the disease. He sighed and picked up an axe on the ground. The chief shrieked in fear, his son hiding behind him. Kiriku glared at them. All he had to do was extract as much blood as possible then grab Rimache and run off with him. It was wrong. The chief was kind enough to let him live in his village. He didn't like repaying good with evil. However, this was a line he was willing to cross. The only person who could stop him now was Veralia. She would be a nuisance but that wouldn't stop him.
Abruptly, he sensed someone. The worst person in this scenario. He clicked his tongue. He threw the axe, just barely missing the chief's head and hitting an orc behind him. The chief stared at him unsure of what he was thinking.
"Understood," he said.
However, he knew he didn't have to lift a finger. He had arrived.
***
He couldn't believe it. A storm dungeon has bypassed his senses. However, that wasn't the end of all surprises. He could smell the stench of blood and death oozing from his village. Furthermore, he noted a massive creature wreaking havoc across the village landscape. His heart nearly skipped a beat but he soon realised it was just a wyvern.
(One strike)
A purple aura engulfed him. A thin long curved sword was summoned. The aura quickly engulfed the sword to form a purple flame like sword. The wyvern only had time to turn it's head. He instantly decapitated the beast. It crashed into the ground. He quickly followed it up with a blow from the flames that swiftly devoured the beast. Using the rest of the flame he sent out thousands of flame spears and killed every beast within the village. He then crashed into the ground. The flames started burning his flesh. He held onto the sword tighter.
(It's stronger!!!)
He resisted and endured the pain. It had been so long since he last used this sword and yet it had gotten this strong. It was ludicrous. After a while, the flames subsided and the sword disappeared. He collapsed onto his knees as he panted heavily. He felt completely exhausted. That sword had drained him completely. However, he was glad it was over. He looked up his eyes widening. The Storm Dungeon was still there!
(How is this possible?! Didn't it have the core?!)
Veralia arrived beside him.
"Darling!" She said as she rushed beside him to help him up.
She caught on to his terrified look. He looked at the wyvern's corpse and up at the storm dungeon. The terror was now sinking into her too. Abruptly, they heard the roars of SIX more wyverns. They shook violently.
"We have to find the core quickly!"
However, before Veralia could take off something peculiar happened. The Storm Dungeon disappeared. They were shcoked. Suddenly, he turned to her. She was looking out to the savannah. A jubilant smile etching itself onto her face.
"He did it!"
He too looked out to the savannah. However, his face immediately contorted. He started panicking. With all the remaining strength he had, he got up and took off to the savannah. He soon arrived however what he saw left him speechless and devastated.
