Chapter 5 - 7.BLACK SWAN

He was paralyzed by shock. He couldn't believe it. A Storm Dungeon had appeared. He shook his head rapidly. He grabbed Ergon and Googaling and rushed to the village before the fire could spread any further. Abruptly, a powerful roar was heard from within the portal. The force of which nearly blew Elthem away. However, he was even more motivated to get to the village.

As he ran across the savanna, Awkrions appeared from the portal. Enischy quickly put Ergon and Googaling down. Instantly, a barrage of razor sharp feathers rained down upon them. Enischy deflected the storm of feathers with masterful technique. However, that was only the first wave mad the second quickly followed after. Before Enischy took action, Googaling landed on his head. She folded her wings and in the next moment, a powerful shockwave erupted forth and rendered the feathers useless. As they prepared for the third wave they saw an azure light streak across the sky slaughtering the Awkrions. The sky was colour red as the light multiplied and beautified it with their starry light. Enischy and Ergon recognized it as their mother's sacred spear. However, they had no time to celebrate. They had to quickly make their way to the village. He picked Ergon up and rushed forward.

Abruptly, an Orc landed just a short distance ahead of them. It had weapons and pieces of armor. He clicked his tongue. The orc charged at them. He dropped him and charged at it. He dodged it's axe slash and landed a powerful kick right into it's neck. It staggered for a moment. He didn't let up. He quickly swept it's legs and it collapsed onto the ground. He lifted his foot and crushed the orc's head. However, things were not to be so easy. Three more orcs were landing. Moreover, this new batch looked stronger than the previous one. Suddenly, he heard a deafening scream coming from behind him. He remembered. These were the worst beasts to have fallen from the portals.

Behind him, Ergon lay on the ground. He was shaking violently, hyperventilating, pupils dilated and shaking all the while sweating profusely. He grabbed his hair as if to tear it all the while screaming his lungs out. Tears cascaded down his cheeks.

"IM SORRY!"

"I DIDN'T MEAN IT!"

"PLEASE FORGIVE ME!"

Ergon kept screaming as if possessed. He stared at the ground as if scared to look up. Enischy turned but the orcs quickly assaulted him. There was no moment he had to lose concentration. He was angry.

(These damned beasts!)

He clenched his fist and took a deep breath. He quickly blew the head off one of the orcs. An orc lunged at him from the side. He quickly sidestepped and hit it at the back of it's neck, breaking it. An axe flew right at him. He swiftly dodged it and grabbed it. He threw it right back, headshoting the beast.

He turned, Ergon was still in a trance. He wanted to rush and help him but five more orcs had just landed all around them. The situation was escalating quickly. The orcs he had just fought were common class but now these orcs were warrior class. Each capable of fighting toe to toe with a warrior. He wasn't particularly worried about killing them. He could. In fact, orcs always targeted the strongest before killing the weak. However, time was of importance. He glanced at Ergon. He was now vomiting severely. Extremely important.

The orcs rushed at him. The flurry of attacks from the orcs was much more difficult to handle. He was able to dodge the attacks but his blows didn't shift the tide of battle. He took a quick breath. His jab suddenly gained speed, sending one of the orcs reeling back. The other were undeterred. They kept attacking, covering each other's backs to ensure he couldn't get another chance. He dodged the attacks with minimal movements. Mostly because he had to gather Ki within his body before going on the offensive. He also had to ensure he didn't waste stamina recklessly. Though this allowed the knocked back orc to join in quickly. However, he did not mind. Five was a moderate number to handle. Luckily or unluckily, most beasts were concentrated in the village. Though he wasn't sure this was going to last. All the more reason to be quick with it.

An orc tried to go for a downward slash but he dodged it. He clenched his fist, muscles bulging and countered by blowing it's head off. The others rushed in. However, he disarmed one and pierced it's heart. Broke the neck of the other. Crushed another's skull and caved in the ribs of the last one with a powerful blow to the chest.

He turned and rushed to Ergon. However, that proves to be a grave mistake. Instantly, his left arm was sliced off. He winced and held his hand. The beast quickly swung it's razor sharp blades at him but he managed to barely dodge them. It was a Mandriulla! No. Mandriulli! Three more landed. Not only that but Orcs that had landed far from them had caught up with them. He gripped his remaining left arm. He closed the wound using ki.

He grit his teeth. His eyes shone a brilliant blue. Hit breath emanated from his mouth. Veins popped up all across his body. Instantly,a Mandriulla charged at him with the same tenacious speed it's species was known for. However, its speed was leagues behind this Enischy. Before it could even attack him, it's head fell off and he has disappeared. An orcs head suddenly popped. Within the time the beasts took to turn their heads, he had already slaughtered another Mandriulla. The remaining Mandriulla and Orcs charged at him. Just as the Mandriulla slashed at him, he jumped to the side dodging it. Instantly, he blew off the Mandriulla's upper body completely off. An orc slashed at him but the propulsion from the previous kick threw him out of it's range. As he landed a sword had already flown dangerously close to his neck. With a glare, it stopped in mid air. His barrier was up. He grabbed the bone sword and rushed at them. An orc tried to face him in a clash of swords but Enischy's cut right through it's sword and upper body. The born sword emanated a blue eminence as if filled to the brim. The other orc rushed at him while the one at the back rained a barrage of arrows at him. It was easy to dodge those arrows, however, they limited how he could counter the orc assaulting him. The orcs were perfectly in sync with each other. Every gap in the front orc's assaults were immediately covered by the second other. The front orc prevented me from just simply chucking his sword at the other orc. He took in a breath. He pulled back his sword and went in for a jab. The orc put up a guard. However, Enischy didn't even get close to it. Monumental force shot forth from the tip of the sword, ripping the two orcs and everything in it's path to shreds.

Although he had eliminated the beasts, an even bigger threat appeared. Ostrogorths. Two of them. Without delay, one immediately attacked him, the force of which nearly three him off balance. The other rushed ahead toward Ergon. He tried blowing the beast away but to no avail. It was matching him blow for blow. His body was already hitting it's limits. Three limiters was draining him extremely quickly. Not only that, the Ostrogorth was abnormally strong! Googaling put up a desperate struggle against the Ostrogorth but it quickly blew him away. It was now eyeing the now collapsed Ergon.

"Agroc!"

A blue flame erupted and engulfed him. A mighty man was looming over him.

"Amount of prestige:76050

Instantly, his body grew massively, so much so he was now towering over the Ostrogorth. He quickly blew it away and instantly appeared behind the other Ostrogorth. He grabbed it's head and smashed it into the ground. He threw it at the other Ostrogorth rushing toward him. They collapsed into a heap. He tried immediately pouncing on them but felt his muscles being torn from the inside. He puked up blood he didn't have much time left. The Ostrogorths immediately charged at him in this moment of weakness. However, he dodged the first Ostrogorth's claw attack and grabbed its neck. He smacked the other with it's beautiful body repelling it. He immediately plunged his fist into the Ostrogorth's chest. He dropped it's lifeless body on the ground and faced the other. It tried running away but he wouldn't allow it. He instantly caught up to it and smashed it's head into the ground. It lay there unmoving.

Instantly, he felt his innards coagulate painfully. It felt as if his entire body was constantly being crushed by a titanic force. Blood erupted from his mouth. He felt weak. He struggled to stand up. His eyes half closed from the physical and mental exhaustion. However, he couldn't leave him alone. He turned and walked to him. He had committed such an atrocious act before. No. He even exacerbated his problems when he needed his support the most. That was what he regretted the most. It still ached him that he was that stupid in the past. That inconsiderate. That jealous. He circulated ki through his body

He collapsed onto his knees right next to him. His legs had given out. He embraced his little brother. He was breathing. He was glad. He embraced him tightly. He looked around. Surprisingly there were no more monsters landing near them. He wondered as to why but was content leaving it as it was. He saw Googaling in the distance. She was injured but nothing too serious. He sighed in relief. Ergon woke up. He immediately started shaking, crying and hyperventilating. Enischy embraced him even more tightly.

"It's fine, Ergon. Big brother is here. No one's going to hurt you," he said as he gently stroked his hair.

He calmed down a bit. However, he noticed his left arm. Tears welled up in his bright blue crystalline eyes.

"It's not your fault!" Enischy said

"Bu-"

"I did it because I wanted to, saying it's your fault is insulting me!"

He looked up into his eyes. He was barely holding back his tears. He pulled him close.

"It's fine to cry sometimes," he said soothingly.

He did just that. He cried. He wailed. He let the tears at least soothe what he endured. Enischy understood to a certain extent. He was always stoic. Didn't talk much. Never expressed himself. Never defended himself. He just endured. Just sealed it up. He was stronger than most but he was glad. He was glad he could cry and wail. He didn't want it to resurface into something ugly later on. He didn't want a future where his heart was filled with hatred. He just wanted to regain his brother's smile. A simple goal. Not as grandiose as the goals the village had placed upon my shoulders. He didn't desire wife and children either. Actually, he rather hated the women of his village. One sidedly treating Ergon like demon spawn from a false accusation. Not even thinking twice about it. He hated it. That angered him. Mostly because he was guilty too. However, he was trying to atone. If he tried his best, maybe he could regain that smile of his that he had helped extinguish. That's why he was going to fight for him if no one else did and support him the best he could. Then one day, when he's powerful enough, he can fight back against the village and restore his honour. Yes. It was simple. He looked at Ergon who was deep in his embrace all the while crying. Better a simple purpose than a grandiose mission. They stayed a couple of minutes stuck together.

(At least he's acting like a child)

Abruptly, the roar was heard again. Now more powerful than ever. Thousands upon thousands of beasts fell from the portal. However, none fell anywhere near them. He started suspecting something was off but his train of thoughts was interrupted when the wyvern arrived. He has never seen anything as massive as a wyvern. Nor a monster with scales all over it's body. Ergon shivered. It was expected. None of them had even seen anything close to that monster. However, he didn't have the luxury of expressing his fears. That would only worsen things.

They watched as that monster fought Kiriku. However, as he expected, Kiriku was no match for it. He wasn't particularly worried. For a while now he had sensed his father speed across the savannah. It would soon be over.

Abruptly, he noticed something moving in the grass. He was alarmed. It was moving quickly. Extremely quickly towards them. He couldn't even detect what it was. He pushed Ergon off him. A large blob of meat with tentacles erupting from the core leapt at him. It quickly pierced his chest and ruthlessly made it's way into him as he screamed in pain desperately trying to get it off. However, it was of no use. It had already eaten out his chest and was settling in. It's tentacles quickly traversing his body like nerves.

"Enischy!" Ergon screamed.

He couldn't do much else. He tried moving but couldn't. He only watched as the thing devoured through his brother. He cried. He was hopeless. Powerless. Useless!

"E-Ergon..." A hoarse voice called, "...Grab a sword."

He couldn't understand. He trembled. However, he obeyed. His trembling hands found a bone sword nearby and dragged it to where he was. He smiled. He chuckled.

"Ergon, you're stronger than most," he stated hoarsely.

Ergon just stood there dumbfounded. He had no idea what was going on. He had no idea of what to do. He was worried. Fearful.

(He can't die...right?) He thought, tears welling in his eyes.

He looked deep in his eyes, "Ergon, take care of the family for me,"

"...Huh? What're you talking about?"

The beast was trying to make it's way to the head but Enischy was keeping it in bay.

"Stab it,"

Ergon stood there. Motionless. His hand shook violently. Again. He had done it. Tears cascaded down his cheeks. Enischy looked up at him. The beast was forcing it's way up his neck inch by inch. He was losing ground. He didn't know what would happen. He could only imagine the worst of worsts happening but it was all clear, his journey had to end that day. He couldn't see Ergon anymore. He couldn't see his family anymore. Tears rolled down his cheeks.

"...Please."

Ergon held the sword. There had to be another way. There had to! He couldn't do this! Not a second time! But he knew he couldn't do anything. He was too weak. He wailed. That beast had already reached the base of his head. Enischy couldn't speak anymore. He just stared at Ergon. He could read the pain in his eyes. Ergon flinched. He lifted the sword. It was heavy. He hesitated. He looked at him. He smiled at him. He closed his eyes and felt the sword plunge right through flesh. Blood spurted all over him. He heard wild screeching then silence. Complete silence. The storm dungeon disappeared. I opened my eyes, blood was all over me. I shook. I started hyperventilating. I looked at Enischy. His eyes had lost it's vibrant blue color. Tears cascaded down my face. I didn't understand what I felt.

Abruptly, I sensed a presence behind me. I turned. It was my father. He stood there dumbfounded. Then his face quickly contorted to that of a demon. He kicked me away. I crashed into a tree. I felt as if my neck was snapped. Blood spurted from my nose, my vision reddened and I couldn't breath for a moment. I couldn't move. I sobbed and whimpered. This was unfair.

(What have I done?)

I had no idea how long had passed until i was able to move again. I got up. I was scared. I started limping home. I didn't understand why my own father kicked me. Yet I clearly did. I simply limped home. I needed someone. Desperately. I limped home.

The village was in sight. I couldn't see anyone. I continued forward. I felt a blow hit my chest. I felt my ribs shatter. I collapsed onto the ground. Someone got on top of me. They assaulted me with ferocious intensity. They suddenly grabbed my neck trying to choke me.

"You monster!"

It was a feminine shriek. Some other people came to her side. I couldn't make out who they were but I recognized that voice. It was Lanuer's. She was screaming loudly. She dropped me as some people restrained her.

"We don't need to dirty our hands and soils. Let the beasts handle it," a man said.

Suddenly, I felt my foot be grabbed. The next moment, I felt a great rush of wind. I was floating. The stars looked so much closer. He passed out.
