Chapter 2 - THE GODDESS WHO COMES UNDER THE MOONLIGHT

The tavern patrons held their breaths, the second personality's usual smugness replaced by a look of utter shock. The old man leaned in, his voice a whisper that seemed to carry across the silent room. "You've lost, young Gray. Now, I want you to bring me something of great value. A treasure that not even your world has ever seen. You have one year to do so." With that, the old man rose, leaving the tavern as mysteriously as he had entered, the door swinging shut with a thud that echoed in the stunned silence.

Revy's second personality took the loss hard, sinking into a deep depression that affected all three of his personas. His gambling worsened, his grades dropped, and his relationships strained under the weight of his secret. The year passed in a blur of despair, each day a painful reminder of the promise he had made and the powerlessness he felt in fulfilling it. The deadline loomed closer, and the once-confident young man grew paler, his eyes haunted by the specter of his impending doom.

One moonlit night, as he sat on the edge of the village, contemplating his fate, a strange sensation washed over him. The ground trembled, and a cold wind whipped through the trees. The first personality looked up, glasses slipping down his nose, to see the ethereal figure of a goddess descending from the heavens. The red katana at her waist was reacting to the goddess. She was the embodiment of beauty and power, a stark contrast to the mundane world he knew.

"Revy Gray," she called out, her voice like a melody that resonated through his very soul. "I am Aria, the last of the true gods. I have chosen you to be the instrument of our vengeance."The first personality, ever the skeptic, took a step back, his heart racing. "A goddess?" he murmured, his voice shaking. "What could you possibly want with me?"

Revy, who had never been out of his village until now, had no knowledge of the gods or the 13 kingdoms. Even the inhabitants of the village were from a forest village that had never been outside before.

Aria's smile was filled with a knowing sadness. "I have watched over you, Revy, since you were a babe. I know of your gift to erase magic. The same magic that fuels the power of the false gods that rule your world. The time has come for you to embrace your destiny."

The third personality, the one with the fierce swordsmanship, stirred within him. The air grew electric as the shy young man was replaced by a figure of steel, the spectacles forgotten on the ground. He picked up the crimson katana that lay by his side, the weapon humming with a power that was as much a part of him as the personalities within.
