It was early in the morning, on what was supposed to be a fine day in August, a weirded-out start to the morning. But in general a fine start for the first day of school. Looking at the alarm- 5:12 A.M. At the crack of dawn, a kid wearing a ring breaks a window.
*Bang* Hearing the massive noise, a big burly man gets up from his bed. Grabbing what seems to be a weapon, he goes to his son's room.
Busting through the room, the kid has a rock in his hand.
"Jay, what are you doing?"
Making his way to his son, he grabs the rock out of his hands.
Waiting for a response from his son, Jay looks at his dad with a confused face. Looking past his son, he looks at the damage he did.
"So we're not saying anything?" Staring at Jay until he cracks, he stays silent. "Go downstairs. Your mom will be home to pick you up soon."
Grabbing his backpack, Jay picks it up. Watching his son walk out the door, the dad goes to the window. Looking out of it, he sees nothing in the backyard. His first thought was that his son might have thrown something at somebody, but there was no trace of anyone. "Must've been a spirit."
Walking away from the window, he goes back into his room. Pulling out his phone, he calls a number.
"Hey, can you take Jay to school today? I need to do something." Going to his closet, he quickly puts on his clothes. "What's going on Kaleb? Why do you need me to pick him up?" Hearing her tone of worry and also an annoyance, he quickly responds. "I have to go grab something for his birthday this morning."
Giving a quick excuse to her, she takes a minute to respond. "I get him in around an hour, make sure he eats."
Getting the confirmation, Kaleb takes out a suitcase. Stuffing all of his clothes into them, he grabs his keys. Doing a dash to the front door. He does not bother saying bye or anything to his son.
Closing the door, he leaves it unlocked. Getting to his car, he throws his suitcase in the back trunk. Getting to the front door, he got in the driver's seat. He was starting the car. *Grr, Grr, Grr* Dealing with multiple failed attempts, the car finally starts. "Let's get the fuck out of here."
Pulling into reverse, he puts his gas onto the pedal, and something jumps on his car- *BOOM* Exploding, debris goes everywhere.
Running out of his house, Jay looks at the exploded car. Hearing screams of help, "DAD!?" Rushing to the car. He attempts to try to grab his dad from the massive flames that are spewing up.
Getting closer, he gets tackled to the ground. "Jay! What are you doing?"
Looking at the person who tackled him. He sees his mom with tears in her eyes. "Don't do something dumb like that again!"
Moving her son to the middle of the yard, she helps him get on his feet. "Hey, hey." Snapping at her son, "Keep your eyes on me." Distracting her son from what's happening behind her, she tries to calm him down.
Until- *Shred* The thing that jumped onto his dad's car perfectly sliced his mom into two. The cut happened right in front of him.
Seeing her lifeless body fall, Jay watches her die helplessly.
Looking at the monster in front of him, he gets attacked. Closing his eyes, he waits for death to take him.
"Whew, I made it in time." Getting saved by a teen with blonde hair, she swings her sword and kills the spirit.
"My name is Kirin; what's your name?"
Feeling hesitation to tell her, he does it anyway.
