Chapter 28 - There... All caught Up. (II)

I love nature... It's Bliss. It's peaceful and the beautiful cycle of life. Death and Rebirth it all loops around you see. It's a perfect system. Mother nature truly is something else.

However...

There is literally one factor that would ruin that perfect balance.

It would literally ruin the ecosystem. One fucking invasive species and it all goes kaput.

What might that be? I hear you ask.

Well...

It's kinda big.

And don't you fucking say that's what she said!

I've had enough of that fucking joke.

"Damn it! Damn it!"

You're probably wondering why I'm cursing out. Well... It's related to that problem I said earlier.

It's a giant fucking skeleton.

Hm? Why should you care? Who am I you ask?

Huh... I didn't think of that.

Why don't we start from the very beginning.

I am Rhistel Nessa Lúthien from the Elven Noble Bloodline of House Lúthien. The Most beautiful elf in my kingdom. Well... Maybe I have a rival... She's not hotter than me! But I do reluctantly admit I have an equal. Yavanna Lanthir... However that's besides the point.

Half a year ago I was spending my days as usual

I was just pestering and sparring with my eternal rival Yavanna Lanthir. Spending my days languidly and lavishly. As all nobles do...

However this day I wanted it to be different. You see earlier that day my mother kept pestering me to get married and settled or what not. Not this free bird. No one can tie me down.

So I drag Yavanna outside the kingdom to have some fun perhaps an adventure or get drunk till morning comes. That's the kicker we didn't even manage to step outside the sparring arena when we were suddenly transported here.

Next thing we know we're given golden apples and all of a sudden we're renowned adventurers.

Thus here's the crux.

Why am I fucking hunting a Giant skeleton you ask?

Because of my rival. She has completely surpassed me. I won't let that pass.

I'll show her.

So That's why I have to hunt this monster.

Luckily the person I'm hunting the monster with is kinda strong. I know... because Mother nature told me.

Who you ask?

This beefcake running beside me.

Black hair, Black eyes, a nice face.

And an even nicer body.

What!? We're all thinking it.

He ticks all the right boxes honestly.

Anyways back to the main point.

We are not running away from this giant skeleton.

Yes... That's it!

We are doing a tactical retreat to lure our opponent into a more favorable terrain.

Or you know... Tire him out.

Do skeletons get tired? I mean it was sleeping earlier...

But let me ask my companion.

"Kaz! What do we do?"

Huh? did this asshole just ignore me?

"Hello!! Elysium to Kaz!"

Rhistel grabbed Haruki by the collar and dragged him towards the nearby tree to hide.

"Hey Kaz! Stop zoning out and focus!"

She drew out her bow and chanted softly.

<

Her wooden bow with golden engravings softly shone. She drew back her silver arrows as they shone with holy light. She pulled back the string as the forest trees swayed and the leaves rustled.

The trees were pushed aside as they bent in an unnatural angle. The two were covered by a massive shade. Not made of trees but the gigantic skeleton towering over them. The thick stench of death permeated the forest. A misty violet fog shrouded the once bright place. The sun's rays were suddenly shrouded leaving only but a dim flicker.

"Newbie! Stop daydreaming! Draw your damn weapon!"

She said as she clicked her tongue towards the daydreaming Haruki. Haruki finally snapped out of it and sighed. He softly placed the bow on the ground. "This won't work."

Haruki breathed in and a blood red blade appeared from his own shadow. Rhistel raised her eyebrows, "I didn't know you could do that." Rhistel said as she fired her arrows towards the giant undead. With a metallic clink the arrows bounced off leaving nothing but a small scratch on its skull.

Haruki responded with a shrug. The undead skeleton tilted its head as it raised the gigantic axe it was holding.

"Well shit! Dodge!" Rhistel said as she pushed Haruki away.

With a strong swing and a forceful tempest that followed blew away the surrounding flora. The two were also tussled around as they rolled on the ground a few times as the weapon breezed past them by a hair's breadth.

They regained their footing only to find themselves caught dead in their tracks in an open space. The two dusted themselves off and Haruki with a small smile said. "You know what I like to do in moments like these? I imagine we're on a show. It's the first episode and the main character is in a tight situation. Then the character blabbers on showing his origin story and what not. Spanning several episodes until they reach the current predicament. Giving the Writers ample enough time to figure out how the main character will solve it."

Rhistel stopped dead in her tracks and stared blankly at Haruki.

What?

It was that moment where I actually finally snapped.

CAN YOU ACTUALLY FUCKING BELIEVE THIS GUY?

That's it...

Im done.

Fuck this guy.

I mean...

I kinda did.

But seriously Im out.

Peace bitches!

Rhistel took a deep breath. She slowly stared at the approaching gigantic skeleton arm.

"I don't wanna die singleeeee!!!!!! Fuck you newbie! It's all your fault!" Rhistel prostested as she put her palms on her face.

"Well, That's a cheap studio trick anyways. This is most certainly the first episode of a horror thriller. Besides, if you want to... You won't die single." Haruki said confidently.

Oh my fucking god.

We might actually die today.

I might've made a huge mistake recruiting this dumbass to hunt the four anomalies.

Is it too late to run away.

Huh? What's this idiot doing?

Why's he stepping up?

We should run you reckless fuck.

Oh no.
