Yohana resisted the urge to grab Thea's hand and take her to the Reinhard manor. She composed herself and kept her back straight. "Have you given it a thought–the apprenticeship offer from Mrs. Lo?"
"Forgive me, My Lady. I haven't been able to think about it. I will take the time to consider it tonight. My apologies if the delay in my answer has caused you any inconvenience."
It pained Yohana to see Thea so formal. The bright rainbow that used to decorate the girl's face had become monochrome. She bit her lower lip and decided just to be herself.
If Thea noticed the peculiarity, and if she asked about it, Yohana promised herself that she would tell her everything. Would Thea believe her? Would she be seen as a mad woman? Even Henrie couldn't believe her words right away.
After all, she was a stranger to them now. They were not familiar with her name or face. Who can guarantee the truth in her claims?
