Chapter 3 - journal entry 1#

In the words of the great bard Shacksheild's uniqueness and persistence create genius, but we can't trust bards. I saw one convince a water mage that ice is the same as fire, too many fools seem to roam around too willing and eager to listen and hard-pressed to think. Another thinking fellow convinced a group of farmers that pain was an illusion and that they shouldn't listen to something that tricks their opinion. some people like to think their way into wholes and fill them with air. I know that if my body tells me I need to collapse there may be a good reason. If my anger rises I assume a second brain is telling me there may be a reason. They're the ones who look at everything like if they look hard enough it'll eventually make sense. they say magic has to have an origin and the other group says magic should be understood, though the most peculiar are those that can see the nature of one's magic before they use it. they are a weird subgroup of the latter. I heard one say my words move like a watery wine, the other like a stone wall that rejects anything but the facts, and the last like a sieve. maybe that eludes more to the potential nature of my magic. I can't wait to see if I'll let it out.
