Chapter 76 - 74

Wonder Woman: We are here to judge the weight of their crimes not the value of a soul as the soul in question is lost

Thor: The very same soul that shaped the ground that we stand on you should not have interfered. As it was your people that caused this disaster.

Thoth: This is indeed a massive loss for the universe I don't think that any judgment could make up for this

Tony Stark: Not that I don't enjoy meeting with new people but right now I don't care. While I appreciate the sentiment Thoth it is unneeded and unwelcome as I intend to just kill those two and move on.

Without missing a beat Tony shot both Hawkman and Green Arrow through the skull giving no one time to debate the issue. Thor was annoyed but understood as Tony had been close to Julian as a friend. Thoth didn't seem to care either way about the result but rather the end of the philosophical debate. Wonder Woman while annoyed looked to Themis for judgment on what he did.

Themis: It was far less than they deserved their punishment was too lenient

Thor: I concur with the goddess of Olympia they didn't suffer enough

Tony: But they are dead before the Justice League could renege on the deal as they are against killing or try to convince us to not kill

Superman clenched his fist in impotent anger as he was forced to allow murder to happen before his eyes. He wanted to react to stop it before it occurred but Batman held him back. He couldn't hold him back physically but Batman only need to place a hand on his shoulder to stop him. He knew that they couldn't justify protecting their former teammates but it still hurt him deeply. He felt utterly powerless even with all his remarkable gifts and abilities. What made it worse for him was the fact that even Wonder Woman seemed dissatisfied with how quickly they were executed right in front of everyone.

Just as everyone was getting ready to head back to earth there was a large flash of light. The light somehow felt profound as even the gods were in awe.

Thoth: This should be impossible...

Thor: What sort of power is this?

Thoth: This is the light from the beginning of creation but this shouldn't be here now

Dr Fate: I can confirm that this is exactly what it is

As the light began to fade a look of awe began to spread amongst the crowd. Standing in the center of the blinding flash was Julian Black fully alive and unscathed. To say that they were more than a little shocked would be an understatement especially considering that they knew that he was dead and his soul was lost.

Thoth: It seems that the universe itself refused to allow his death and has called him back

Dr Fate: It isn't merely a replacement or a rewind of time it's really him as his soul is exactly the same as it was before but something is different

Thor: And how would you recognize what his soul looks like?

Dr Fate: Batman insisted on ensuring that he wasn't a demonic entity or some sort of malicious intent disguised as a human

Thoth: What exactly is different from before I sense that there is power in his soul but was it there before?

Dr Fate: No, his soul was definitely completely mortal before it would appear that a part of the light has left its mark upon his soul

With Julian's return Thor was relieved as he wouldn't be forced to choose between Earth and Asgard in a possible war scenario. Although now he was worried that his resurrection was witnessed by other pantheons. Julian was already regarded as by Thor as a high value asset that he must acquire for Asgard but with the universe itself returning him his value skyrocketed. He was also certain that the light of creation was definitely felt by various powers in the universe. There was a chance that they didn't know where exactly it came from but Olympus and enigmatic Egyptian gods definitely would. He thought about killing them but immediately dismissed the idea as he wasn't certain that he could kill or stop them before they escaped.

Thor: As the son of Odin I propose a meeting with both your pantheons regarding this important issue
