A clear divide appeared within the Justice League as as much as anyone wanted there was no mending this problem. A line had been drawn in the sand and now everyone was just waiting for someone to make the first move that would set off the powder keg. Avengers weren't backing down either especially Tony he wanted blood. Thor's eyes glowed with power as he tightly gripped his hammer he didn't want to fight against heroes but he wouldn't let this injustice stand.
Superman was caught in indecision on one hand murder wasn't the answer but on the other Julian was dead and his soul was lost. He knew he couldn't justify protecting either Hawkman or Green Arrow but this seemed like vengeance, not justice. He wasn't certain though as maybe Julian's widow was right maybe it wasn't his place to stand in the way of the consequences of their actions.
Batman: you can take Hawkman and Green Arrow but as for the others you will back off. I'm not saying that what they did was right but they need to face judgment in court.
Flash: Batman you can't be serious I know what they did is... but they still are...
Batman: No Flash they aren't one of us... not anymore when they crossed that line they stopped being Justice League now they are just criminals and murderers.
Batman didn't want to give them over to the Avengers but he had no choice for the good of the world he was forced to back down. He was still able to save his son even if he would likely spend the rest of his life in prison. He couldn't take the risk that Thor would follow through with his threat of having Asgard invade Earth. The loss of life it would cause would be devastating plus Clark was too conflicted to act. If he pushed he knew that Clark would have his back but the Justice League would be no more.
Aquaman and Wonder Woman made it clear that they would fight against them on this one if it came down to it. From now on the Justice League would never be the same on the surface everything was the same but in reality, they were shattering. They were already feeling tension due to Julian's existence and now with his death, their future was now uncertain.
...
Why couldn't he just have waited for a better opportunity to present itself!? Why did he have to crush his skull after Oliver put an arrow through his heart!? I understood that he was a warrior, especially for how he dealt with Grod but he was still just a human. Humans are fragile had he just backed off the fault would solely belong to Green Arrow. He would have been sent to prison where he could have waited for the invasion to be set free.
The Green Lantern John Stewart tried to comfort me but all it did was make me angry. I only dated him to be close to the Oaian's attack dog so that they wouldn't suspect anything.
While I was lost in thought I noticed Diana seemed to be in meditation of some sort. It wasn't long before a portal opened and a woman... no a goddess wearing a blindfold stepped out. I wasn't familiar with earth's gods but I didn't need to be as Diana greeted her.
Diana: Greetings Themis goddess of Justice I asked for your aid as this is a matter beyond mortal judgment and I don't trust an Asgardian to be unbiased.
Thor: It is not her place to judge the value of a soul
Unknown: It seems that Thor is expressing his opinion regarding the involvement of the goddess of Justice in the matter. He believes that it is not her place to judge the value of a lost soul. It's interesting to see how the different members of the Justice League and Avengers have different perspectives on the situation but considering that we are judging souls wouldn't it make sense for a god whose very purpose is exactly that instead? Although that isn't my domain if you need suggestions I think Osiris would be a good fit.
Yet another being who is most likely a god appeared but unlike the others, he had the head of a bird and the body of a man before it shifted to a handsome Egyptian man.
Thoth: This place is just full of curiosities! Allow me to introduce myself I am Thoth god of wisdom, knowledge, and a few other things.
With the appearance of yet another god everyone became on edge not that Thoth seemed to care either way. Which ironically further served to increase tensions as he was a wildcard.
