For the next fifteen minutes, the only thing that came out of Jean's pretty mouth was her cult brainwashing about peace between mutants and humans. How Charles was a visionary and through his teachings and ideals could they end the violence between the two groups. Now I have created a cult as a scam artist selling people on stupid ideas making them believe that giving me money was saving their souls. Still, I never achieved this level of indoctrination that Charles Xavier did.
Sure he calls it a school but let's not kid ourselves anytime a heaven's gate-looking bald dude asks to save your soul it's most likely a cult. Let's tally the facts he comes with a message of peace like he is the second coming, he has an army of those willing to fight and die for him, he preys on young vulnerable children to brainwash and they live isolated and far away from the rest of society. These are all signs of a dangerous cult that doesn't cover the uniforms or the X-Men logo which definitely refers to him.
There are plenty of warning signs but I don't have time to go through them all but long story short I'm definitely not drinking the Kool-aid.
Jean: Do you want me to get something to drink maybe Kool-aid or something?
"No! I mean no I'm fine thank you let's just go see Charles"
When we finally made it to Charles's office I wasn't all that shocked or happy to meet. Personally, it's mostly because he drank his own punch. These greater good types always find a way to justify their actions for the manipulative shit they do. Jean and Scott are perfect examples of this behavior one is a loyal soldier and the other is someone with her emotional issues suppressed till she explodes. So I wasn't surprised when he tried to fish around inside my head and bounced him back.
"What were trying to do I did not give you permission to dig inside my mind"
Charles: I'm sorry when I meet new people I tend to touch their minds I meant no offense
"It still doesn't excuse it as a habit or not it is the same as molesting someone and then apologizing except it's far worse as you are trying to touch the core of who I am"
The room fell into an awkward silence Charles tried to think of a way to make things right the others shifted around uncomfortable while Scott seemed pissed. The reason I said what I said was to create doubt and fear to form cracks in their trust in their beloved cult leader. To make them see how wrong they are to put their trust in someone who could and would invade their minds. Unable to handle the silence Cyclops explodes in rage glaring at me for daring to challenge and accuse his beloved cult leader.
Scott: How dare you accuse the professor of such a horrid thing?! He said it was a mistake!
"The same way it's a mistake when two kids play with a loaded gun and one ends up dead it may have been an accident but the consequences are very much real and saying sorry won't fix it"
The room becomes deathly quiet as no one can rebuff me. What I said was true even if my analogy was extreme. Looking at all their faces I could already see the cracks forming especially in Jean as if she suspects something below the surface. The same could be said for Storm and Wolverine but to a lesser extent never the less the damage is done. The only way to fix it would be to erase it but that would be too risky as he knows that I won't let him near my mind and I suspect Jean will be reluctant as well.
