I'll be quite happy being single and f**king who I want."
"But you haven't been with anyone since Ria left six weeks ago."
"I've been busy with work, haven't had time."
"Bullshit. You've not been with anyone because you still love her. For the love of God man, go to her. Tell her again how much you love her and get her to admit that she loves you."
He slammed his fist down on the desk and stared at Robbie. "I took your advice last time and look what happened. If I had kept quiet we would still be together. If only I had hidden the ring better and not told her I loved her." He started pacing, running his fingers through his hair, messing it up. "Just get out before I fire you."
"Alright, I'm going. You won't have to worry about Ria much longer."
"What does that mean?"
"Nelly called me today, Ria's has accepted a job in Paris."
He sat down, all kinds of feelings went through him. "Paris, when is she going?"
"She's leaving next week. You know it's not too late to stop her, tell her not to go."
"She doesn't love me and you can't force someone to love you. It's better she goes, for both of our sakes."
"I think she does love you but because she was hurt a long time ago she's afraid to admit she loves you."
"Who hurt her and what happened?"
"You should ask her yourself."
"I'm asking you."
Robbie sat down. "Nelly told me three years ago Ria met an older man. After a whirlwind romance and she had fallen in love with the guy she found out he was married. When she confronted him he smacked her around, told her she should be grateful for just being with him. It was then she vowed never to love again, that way she wouldn't get hurt. But Ryan, I know she loves you and that you would never hurt her."
"I need to hear her tell me, and she never will."
"I better go, I'm taking Nelly out tonight. I guess I'll see you tomorrow."
