It was the night before Ria was to fly to Paris that she and Nelly sat in the living room having a drink along with Robbie. Her flight wasn't until morning and this would be the last time they would see each other for a while.
She turns to Robbie. "Keep an eye on Ryan, make sure he's alright."
"He's in a really bad way."
"How?" she asked, her heart was breaking.
"He working around the clock, he's not sleeping, barely eating. Ryan has a broken heart and I'm really worried about him. Judging by the way you look with those dark circles under your eyes and how pale you look I'd say you also have a broken heart. Ria, if you love him don't let what happened to you in the past stop you from loving again."
She turned to stare at Nelly. "You told Robbie?"
"Yes, please don't be mad."
He stood and went over to Ria. "You're leaving tomorrow, is that really what you want or do you want to be with Ryan? If that's the case you better get off your ass and go to him, one of you has to stop being so damn stubborn."
Getting up she goes over to the window and looks out, just thinking about Ryan was tearing her heart apart. Her heart was saying go to him, but her head was saying run. Once she got on that plane there was no turning back, was she making a mistake by leaving, should she open her heart and go to him?
"You dumb stupid cow," Nelly yelled from her seat, making Ria turn sharply in her direction.
"What?"
Getting up she walks over to Ria. "I said you're a dumb stupid cow. Grab your purse and get your scrawny ass over to Ryan's. I'm sick of you feeling sorry for yourself and that you're willing to leave the only man you ever loved. Phil hurt you years ago, but face it, you never really loved him, not like you do Ryan."
"You're such a bitch," she said, smiling at Nelly.
"That's right, I'm a bitch. Now here are my car keys, take them and go."
"I do love him, I love him so much it hurts."
"Don't tell me, tell him."
Giving Nelly a hug she grabbed her purse and dashed out, not bothering to wait for the elevator took the stairs. All kinds of thoughts raced through her mind as she drove to Ryan's place. What if he wouldn't see her, worse yet what if he was with someone? It was a chance she had to take, she couldn't leave without telling him she loved him.
Standing outside his door she hesitated, trying to think of what she was going to say. Taking a deep breath she knocked. It seems to take forever before he answered, opening the door. Their eyes locked but neither one spoke.
Robbie was right, he did look like shit, his eyes dull and he looked like he hadn't slept in days.
