"Man, you are such a party pooper, this is just like driving a car." She looks at him and a smile curled up on the corner of her lip." Hang on, time to see how fast this thing will go," she said and cranked it up.
The force from the speed had him falling back into his seat. "Holy shit Ria, slow it down before you end up killing us," he yelled through the roar of the engine and the waves as they splashed against the boat, making it rock back and forth.
Glancing over at him and seeing the frightened look on his face she started laughing. "Relax, this is so much fun."
"Ria, damn it slow down," he said, getting to his feet he goes over, giving her a shove out of the way he took over, slowing it down and then finally stopping. Grabbing her arm he gives her a shake. "You foolish girl, boating is serious, not a f**king game."
"Alright, calm down, I was just having some fun." Knowing she had really upset him she wanted to make it up to him, so going over she put her arms around his neck. "I'm sorry. How about if we go below and I make it up to you?"
Removing her arms he backed away, his eyes filled with anger. "No thank you."
Her eyebrow lifted and she stared at him, shocked. "You're refusing me?"
"That's right."
"Fine, see if I care," she snapped and went to walk away but was stopped when he took hold of her hand.
"Ria, you scared the shit out of me. The speed you were going was dangerous, not just for us but for anyone else who is out here. As you can see there are several other boats out here, some have kids on them."
She looked around, suddenly feeling guilty and stupid. "Oh God, you're right, I'm so sorry. I got so wrapped up in the thrill that I wasn't thinking about anyone else."
Lifting her chin up his anger disappeared when he saw how remorseful she was. "Well, no harm was done, but from now on I'll do the driving. Remind me not to get in a car if you're behind the wheel."
They both had a chuckle over that.
