"No sleeping over, no getting to know each other personally. No s£x with anyone but each other but then sleeping over started and after that, he was the one who broke his own rules. I told him many times to never fall in love with me."
Nelly was shocked, she never knew this was the agreement between them. "Alright, so you two started off in an unusual way but look what happened. You moved in together, he gave you a job and you both enjoyed each other. Love was bound to happen and whether you want to admit it you have also fallen for Ryan."
"No, I haven't. I care about him more than I have for any man I've ever known and it hurts so much leaving him."
Nelly put her arm around her shoulder. "Oh honey, you are most definitely in love, you just don't know it. If you weren't you wouldn't be hurting so much."
She accidentally knocked her purse over and all the contents spilled out and as she was picking everything up and putting them back in she picked up the small box. "What's this?" she asked, holding it up to show Ria.
"It's my birthday present from Ryan. I didn't want to take it but he insisted."
Nelly opens the box and lets out a loud whistle. "Wow, these are gorgeous and are real diamonds. I can only imagine what the ring must have looked like. I bought you a gift too but I don't think I should give it to you."
"Why not?" She asked, curious as to what it could be.
"It's sexy lingerie."
"Oh, perhaps you could hang on to it for now."
They stayed up until the sun started to rise. Tired and exhausted from crying and talking Ria climbed into the bed in the spare bedroom. This was the first night in months that Ryan wasn't laying next to her and she couldn't help but miss him. If it weren't for the amount of wine she drank she never would have been able to fall asleep.
Meanwhile back at Ryan's place: Wiping his eyes he goes back into the bedroom and starts picking up Ria's clothes, folding them and placed them back into the suitcase. There was an ache in his heart, one that was so painful he had to sit down. Everywhere he looked he saw her, saw her sitting at the makeup table, coming from the bathroom wrapped in only a short towel, but the hardest was the bed where they spent most of their time.
It was late but there was no way he could sleep in that bed tonight. So grabbing a pillow went out into the living room. There he went to the bar and took out a glass and a bottle of Crown Royal, pouring some into the glass sat down and started drinking. He planned on getting so wasted that he would pass out and not have to think of the woman that ripped out his heart.
Robbie was shocked to see the state of Ryan when he went over later that night. He opened the door, his shirt unbuttoned, his hair was a mess and he stunk of booze.
"What the fuck do you want?" Ryan barked.
"I came over to give Ria this bottle of champagne for her birthday."
"Don't ever mention that bitch's name around me again," he said, slurring his words.
Robbie noticed a couple of suitcases thrown recklessly by the door. "Where is she?"
"She's gone, moved out."
"I don't understand, you two were so happy together so what happened?"
"You, you're what happened."
"Me, what did I do?"
"Tell her I love her before I end up losing her. Well, that's what I did and she bolted, thanks to you. I never should have listened to you. Let me tell you this brother," he said, poking Robbie in the chest with his finger. "I will never let another woman get close to me. From now on it will be hit it and quit it, the way it was before she came into my life."
He followed Ryan over to the sofa where he fell down, picked up the bottle and started drinking right from it. "I think you've had enough," he said, trying to grab it from his hand.
