"You may be the boss but I'm just an employee and I take my work seriously, and that includes being on time."
He leans over the table. "You're not just one of my employees, you're my girlfriend and that gives you extra privileges." He loved that they had defined their relationship and his heart swelled with love whenever he called her his girlfriend.
She threw herself into her work when she got to her office, she had to write out the speech Ryan had dictated to her in response to the press asking about his latest invention. She also had to make calls to the investors, setting up a dinner meeting. She also had to answer calls from companies wanting to be the first ones to buy the product. This job was more than she expected but was loving it.
Three months later she got a call from Nelly, after hanging up she went to Ryan's office.

The news was one she was expecting but it still shook her and she needed to feel his arms around her.
He looked up from his desk when she entered, he could tell she was upset about something so getting up goes over to her. "What's wrong?"
"I just found out Richard got released early. "Oh God, what if he comes after me for revenge?" She went into his arms when he held them out.
"He won't, he's probably on his way to Florida."
Pulling back she gives him a strange look. "How would you know that? What aren't you telling me?"
Now was the time to tell her the truth, well most of it anyways. "Now don't get mad at me but I went to see him in prison. I told him to leave town when he gets out. I also told him to stay away from you, not to call or text. You don't have to worry about him, he'll never bother you again."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't want you to get mad at me. I had to do it, I wasn't going to let him scare you so if you want to be mad go ahead, give it to me, tell me off." He was completely taken off guard when she flung herself into his arms.
"Oh Ryan, thank you. I'm not mad, I'm grateful. No one has ever stuck up for me before, what you did was so sweet."
Stroking her back he rested his head on top of her head. "Don't you know by now that I'll do anything for you? I'll never let anyone hurt you. I-I care about you." He was about to tell her he loved her but stopped himself just in time, it was too soon.
Stepping back she gives him one of her seductive smiles as she started undoing the buttons on her pink satin blouse. "Why don't you lock the door?" Sliding it down over her shoulders let it fall to the floor, she unhooked her bra, dropping it to the floor where it landed by her feet.
