Chapter 40 - Chapter 40

"Is it his money you're after?"

"That's so typical of you rich people, thinking a woman is with a man just because he's wealthy. For your information his money has nothing to do with us being together, it's something entirely different."

"Really, and what would that be?"

She knew she had said too much and wasn't about to tell him that she and Ryan were just fuck buddies. "We enjoy each others company, that's all."

He moved closer to her and she backed up, trapping her between him and the desk. "At first I was worried that he would end up breaking your heart, now I think it is you who will break his."

"Am I interrupting anything?" Ryan's said angrily as he cleared his throat.

They both turned to look at him and Robbie backed away from her. "No brother, we were just talking."

"Why are you here?"

"I was dropping off those reports you asked for." He looks at Ria. "It was nice seeing you again, have a good dinner."

When Robbie walked out he went over to her. "Was my brother coming on to you?"

"No, of course not." She didn't want to be the cause of two brothers fighting so she felt it was best to keep quiet about how Robbie tried to kiss her.

"It looked to me like things were a bit tense between you two."

"It was nothing. Robbie was just making sure I wasn't using you for your money."

He walked over to her and taking her chin in his hand. "You're mine and if I find out anything is going on between the two of you I'll make you both pay."

"Not liking the way he was talking to her she knocked his hand away and picked up her purse. "Go to dinner yourself jackass," she said and walked out in a huff. She leaned against the wall when the elevator door closed. When she looked into his eyes they were like a pool of dark evil and it scared her the way he said those words.

Ryan poured himself a shot of whiskey from his minibar and sat down.

He shouldn't have lost his cool with her, it wasn't her fault that Robbie was as much of a player as he was, or was until Ria came into his life. She was angry when she left and he knew he was going to have to grovel to get her to forgive him. Picking up his phone he dialed the flower shop and ordered five dozen long stem red roses to be delivered to her place asap.

At home, she took off her dress and put on a pair of shorts and a tank top, still fuming over the way Ryan behaved. A knock at the door startled her and looking out the peephole saw a man standing there, his arms full of flowers. She thanked him, taking the flowers and shutting the door read the card.

Ria, please forgive me for my childish outburst Ryan.

Smelling the flowers she started putting them into a couple of vases. When she was done there was another knock at the door, thinking it was more flowers she opens the door, it was Ryan holding a six pack of beer and a large pizza.

"Can I come in? I brought dinner."

She stepped aside, allowing him to enter.

He set the beer and pizza down. "I see you got the roses."

"They're beautiful, thank you," she said in a cool tone.

"Ria, I'm sorry. It wasn't you I was mad with, it was Robbie but I took it out on you and I shouldn't have."

Her arms crossed she leaned against the table. "I think you know me by now, that I'm not the type to cheat on you. I made a promise not to be with anyone else while we're together. You have to stop being jealous and possessive or we should end things."

"It won't happen again, I give you my word. So does this mean you forgive me?"

"Yeah, you're forgiven. Open me one of those beers and I'll grab some plates."

"Wait," he said, pulling her into his arms. His lips came down hard on her, his kiss passionate, leaving them both breathing hard. He pulled away from her mouth, his hand caressing her neck. "I want you now, I want to f**k your brains out."

"The pizza will get cold," she said, ...
