After a few hours at the office, he was anxious to get home to Ria. He had given her a key to his place to keep, it was only fair since he had one to her place. He entered his apartment and could smell something cooking, he saw her bag on the floor by the sofa and goes into the kitchen. "I thought you were bringing takeout home?" he asked when he saw her stirring something in a pot.
She turns around to look at him and smiled. "I was going to but I thought you'd appreciate a home-cooked meal instead."
Going over he puts his arms around her waist from behind, looking over her shoulder. "It smells good."
"Chicken breast in a creamy sauce, mash potatoes, and corn. It'll be ready soon so if you wanted to wash up you have time."
Moving her hair over to the side he kissed the side of her neck. "Care to join me in the shower for an appetizer to start with?"
"Not his time, I don't want our dinner to burn," she answered, nudging him away.
"So how was your lunch with your friend?" he asked when they sat down to eat.
"It was good, she was telling me that Mathew and Mr. Milton aren't that tight anymore. I wonder if it's because I told him how Mathew screwed his wife. Oh, and she's breaking up with her boyfriend which I for one am glad about."
"Why?" he asked.
"He never treated her right, always getting mad and breaking dates with her. I don't have proof but I think he was cheating on her. If there's anything I hate it's a cheater. Enough about me, how was your day?"
"It was good, I got done what needed doing," he said, a smile crossed his lips. Pushing his empty plate away. "That was delicious, you really are a great cook."
"Would you like some dessert now," she asked, getting up to clear the table.
