The low sun illuminates the island with a golden hue. In the middle of it is a group of goblins chasing a boy in a black jacket. They have long passed the crash site and are heading to where Ransom comes from.
No matter what they do, they just can't seem to catch up to Ransom. It even looks like he's waiting for them sometimes due to their short legs, even intentionally mocking them with gestures.
Suddenly, Ransom passed a thick brush and suddenly disappear. The leader of the goblin group who has a big scar on the back of its head signals the group to stop. He finds it suspicious that their target disappeared in front of their eyes.
"Ragruura."
Hearing this, the group splits into two groups of 4. One group searched the left area while the other, the right.
The forest is eerily silent and every vine can be mistaken for a snake due to its color.
The leader is smart, he didn't let the other group travel far, and they're at a "helping" distance if anything happened.
The human is dangerous, he killed one of the goblin warriors Dragnar, the axe-wielding goblin.
While thinking about this, suddenly, one of his group was bitten by a green viper!
They panicked and attacked the viper with their weapons, it died but one of their members also died. As they look at their comrade's pale corpse, they blame the fact that they are in an unfamiliar place, this isn't their home, they are lost.
"Raaa!" The goblin leader heard the other group shrieking, he immediately rushed to them and saw one of his kind impaled by spikes underneath. They've fallen into a trap prepared by Ransom beforehand.
The leader realized this and immediately shouted for the group to retreat.
"Graaru-"
WHOOSH! SPLAT!
Suddenly a spear came flying from above the tree they're gathered, directly impaling the head of the leader, the impact embedded him to the ground.
The goblins were shocked as they look above and saw Ransom looking at them with a face that looks like he was having fun. Beside him is a bundle of wooden spears tied in the branch with a vine.
"Surprise f*ckers!" He threw a spear again, hitting a goblin's leg, incapacitating it.
'2, second direct kill since the level-up.'
At this point, the remaining goblin is in chaos. One of them threw a stone at Ransom.
Ransom jumped to another branch without losing balance. He has practised his tree climbing skills on the fruit trees while avoiding large ants. 'It's a very useful skill if I think about it. Climbing is.'
Another goblin threw his weapon at Ransom. He was then forced to jump off the tree. When he came down, all 4 goblins rushed at him.
'Shit! Can I handle four? 1 archer, 2 warriors, 1 idiot who threw his weapon... Worth a try.'
He took his pike from his jacket and flung it at the leading goblin. Due to that, it was forced to duck and Ransom took this chance to jab at the second goblin. Unfortunately, the goblin evaded it.
'Shit!' He overestimated himself.
The leading goblin slashed at him, he evaded it with reflex but an arrow struck him at his elbow.
"Ack!" Intense pain flooded him as blood flows freely. He gritted his teeth and tried to fight back the two goblin warriors.
The battle took a toll on his mind as he took note of every goblin's action including possible reinforcement. Even the unarmed goblin is a huge threat when it retrieved its fallen weapon, a club.
He blocked the goblin's attack and kicked it hard. It stumbled backward with its small body and so he took this chance to impale its head. The remaining goblins didn't take it for granted though, he was struck by a huge force at his ribs and with a small 'crunch' sound, he knew that something broke.
He endured the pain and slashed with his spear, the goblin parried and took advantage of his lighter weapon to slash at Ransom's hands with its bone knife. The wider the motion of an attack, the longer time it needs to perform another.
Ransom was scared shitless, he immediately elbowed the face of the goblin saving his fingers in the process, but he was still cut a little at his chest.
'Sh*t! I can't die here! I still have so much to do in life!'
He's in a terrible condition with his shoulder aching in a burning fume, his chest also is bleeding every time he breathes, and sharp pain from his side serves him muddled thoughts. He knows that if he doesn't finish this soon, he'll be dead.
He struggled with all his might but the three goblins have experienced hunts versus animals twice their size, thus their teamwork seems invincible to Ransom.
His wounds keep on accumulating, and soon, he'll die from blood loss.
Suddenly, he noticed the archer goblin dropping, and then a viper can be seen encircling its leg.
If the Goddess of Luck exists then she's smiling at him at this moment.
His mind is filled with nothing but vengeance, to kill this one goblin in front of him even if it kills him. With a last desperate attempt, he pushed his body to the limit. His arms cried out, his bones cackle as he did a monstrous swipe with his spear.
WHOOSH!
The winds formed a mirage as it sweeps on the neck of the knife-wielding goblin. The goblin's head flew off, smashing into a nearby tree leaving its fallen body behind while his spear broke into two, its handle dusting into smithereens.
Ran is so exhausted that he didn't even notice what happened. He is just standing straight, half-conscious.
The remaining goblin awkwardly looks at the body of its comrades, then at the mighty image of the blood demon (apparently that's what he thinks Ransom is with its crazy tenacity). Its body shook and it threw its club to the ground, it then sprinted like crazy with its arms flailing around while screaming "RAAAAAAAA!!! (Demon!!!)"
Ran slowly picked up his axe which he lost when he jumped from the tree and pitched it directly to the head of the running goblin 30 meters away from him.

And before his consciousness fades out, he saw a mp3 player in the ground.
'That's my mp3...'
