Chapter 11 - Skill Shop

"Ransom, wake up!"

"WaKe uP!"

WAKE UP!

It was already midnight when he woke up. He only has an ounce of blood left before his organs suffer from blood loss. In his fuzzy vision is his status screen, with all difficulty he was able to read the announcement.

[Congratulations for achieving such a memorable Feat! You have been given 50 experience points for developing your Talent.]

[You have earned First Tier Talent "Vengeance"]

[You have levelled up!]

[You have finished the Sub-Quest "The First Step" and has unlocked Shop]

[Congratulations! The system has fully integrated with you!]

[You have levelled up!]

"Vengeance..." He muttered.

[Vengeance - The more someone has inflicted pain on you, the more powerful you become.]

"F*ck!" He couldn't help but curse out. This looks like an extreme talent for masochists.

[You have been given 5 Red Crystals as a reward for being the 7th in your race in developing your first Talent. If you wish, your talent can be sold in the Shop and you'll gain 88% of the profit in addition to +100 Experience Points.]

"...No."

[Are you sure? Your choice cannot be redacted]

"Yes, I don't want to sell any shit to you."

Although he's not sure what his choice entails, he won't sell his Talent. Even though Vengeance is a skill for perverts, he knew how strong it is just based on the last attack he delivered on the head of 'that' goblin. He exerted at least thrice his strength that time.

'And what does selling it to the Shop means? Does it mean that every player like me can see my talent and buy it? Dogshit!'

He's not in the time to think about those though, his body is feeling weak and his face is getting pale every passing second.

'Shit, give me the Shop!'

Before he even tap the Shop, it already showed in front of him.

'Is this what It means to fully integrate?'

[*Shop*

Skills:

Basic Swordsmanship

Basic Spearmanship

Basic Archery

...

Masterful Spit

Swift Balls Breaking

Reinvigorate

Restoration

etc.]

Ransom saw dizzying lists of items and skills.

'Hmmm, there's even Basic Spearmanship which I really, really need. What, It's worth 20 Red Crystal!? Damn capitalists'

He ignore some skills which looks like it was named by a child and focused on these two;

[Reinvigorate (Active) - A skill that immediately heals the user's body based on their Fortitude and Psyche.

*Can be used once a day after a good night's rest.

5 Red Crystal]

[Restoration (Passive) - You produce cells faster, which makes your body heal 20% more efficiently than your average human.

Seller: K

10 Red Crystal]

Red Crystals are the crystals that solidify in the middle Dantian of every monster 10 minutes after their death. If you include the goblins he just killed, he has a total of 10 Red Crystals.

'Hmmm... Reinvigorate is good when dealing with destructive damage to the body while Restoration improves the whole human physiology and focuses on long-term healing, and it comes from K which I presume is also a player from Earth.'

It seems like the other players are doing great if they're already selling their skills.

[You can only own 3 Skills before your first Class Ascension. Number of Skills 2/3]

'Wait, what? When did I get a second skill?'

[*Skills*

°Fleeting Footwork (Passive) - You have tapped into your inner potentiality and can now move 1.5x faster based on the limit of your body.

°Throw (Passive) - You throw things better...]

"Give me the Reinvigorate skill."

His biggest concern is to get away from this place as fast as possible, he has been here for too long, and the next a goblin walks into this place, he'll die a dog's death.

A ball of white light suddenly came shooting from the sky directly into his chest that makes his body tingle with a bit of warmth.

[You acquire the skill "Reinvigorate"]

The moment he saw the text, he immediately spent 2 free stat points to his Fortitude, strengthening his bones and muscle structures considerably.

"Here it comes."

He rolled his shirt sleeves and bit into it.

Slowly, he put his hands to the arrow on his shoulder... and then pulled out in one swift motion. With a bated breath, he activated his Reinvigorate skill.

"REINVIGORATE! HUFFFF!"

Suddenly, he can feel his body heating up. His wounds can be seen closing slowly while his skin reddens like a man in a sauna. He grits his teeth and endures the itchiness all over his body.

...

A little over an hour later, his wounds have finally closed and his bleeding has stopped. Although his body is still weak due to blood loss, he knew that a proper rest and meal would be all that he needs.

A part of him wants to immediately head to where the goblins are and exact his revenge but it will be like 'a chicken heading to a slaughterhouse' scenario. He needs to rest first

"Grudges are better left once you have a full stomach... Leave your grudges in open stomach... Eat first, grudge later. Ahhhh f*ck!" Anyways you get the idea...

Slowly, Ran stood up. He look at his surroundings and saw goblin corpses littering around.

'Fortunately, the snake didn't bite me in my sleep. Lucky, lucky.'

He took the goblin's weapons. A bow, an axe, a spear, three unidentifiable sharp things (?),  and two wooden clubs.

Actually, he threw the three unidentifiable weapons... Next, he crouched and picked up his mp3 player and walked weakly in the direction of the pit.

'I've already finished my Sub-Quest "The First Step". Let's go back for noe.' He comforted his rage with this thought.

...

10 minutes after Ransom left, a group of goblins led by a shaman walked into the area. The goblin shaman's eyes shone blue as it gazes in the direction Ransom left.

...

After that incident, Ransom rested for a whole day. The next day, he continued his daily routine, exercise, practice his spear, throwing anything he could get his hands on. He has taken a liking to his new passive skill "Throw". He can only accurately hit targets 20-30 meters away from him, now he can do it up to 60 and can still hit those targets within 80 meters. He even wonders if he can do it on a bow.

He took the bow he got from the goblin, made a makeshift arrow and tried to shoot it. Unfortunately, the "Throw" passive doesn't work unless your hands and wrist are the main source of inertia.

His target is a goblin puppet made of grasses and vines in a 20-meter-far tree.

WHOO-

The first shot passed through the tree.

WHOOSH! SPLAT

The second shot killed an ant, accidentally...

WHOOSH! CREAK!

The third shot finally hit a tree! Another tree.

"What the f*ck."

He then throws the arrow and it hit a bird. Next, he tried throwing the bow and it finally hit the goblin target.
