A few days had past of constant training. Either it was how to control our powers or just more combat.
Jaxon even started giving me private lessons on how to be a better leader.
He taught me different strategies and even made me analyze everyone's performance to figure out their strengths and weakness in order to know how to fully utilize their skills for various missions.
I'm not going to lie, at first I didn't think I would be a good leader. A small part of me still doubts it but with Jaxon and everyone else's encouragement, I guess it's not that bad.
I was deep in the library after practice gathering information about the previous elementals, especially the first ones.
Coral was right about the fact we had the same spirit animals as them was uncanny.
From the information I gathered, there was once peace between light and darkness, none crossed any boundaries until one day darkness suddenly wanted more power and started to cause havoc.
Light, because of this, used her powers to bestow six offspring of royal families with elemental powers but doing this weakened her and she hasn't been seen since then.
The six first gifted ones created the scepter and they used it to defeat the darkness with the cost of two of them lost forever but he came back and when he did another set of gifted ones were already created except for the ones that were lost and it continued like that.
I was still flipping through a book trying to get more information on what could be the relationship between them and us when the book suddenly closed.
Then came an annoying voice from behind me, 'You look too serious', the voice said, amusement evident with each word.
A figure then dropped on a chair beside me.
'Is there a reason you're even at the library Aiden?', I asked opening the book again not bothering to spare him a glance.
'Simple, I was looking for you Snowflake', he said closing the book again with his powers and moving it to his hands.
I finally looked at him with a bored expression.
'Come on. You need to loosen up a bit', he said placing the book back on the table now that he had my attention.
'Well excuse me if I'm taking an attack on this kingdom seriously', I said rolling my eyes.
'I'm not saying it's wrong, just... take a break at least. You'll wear yourself out Snowflake', he said, his expression turning serious.
'Look, I'm fine Aiden', I said reassuring him. He opened his mouth to speak but was cut off when a voice boomed from somewhere near us.
'Amy, where are you? You've been in here forev...', Zayn said stopping when he saw I had company.
'See. Even he knows you're wearing yourself out', Aiden said pointing at Zayn.
'He didn't say that', I scoffed. 'And even if he did, you guys are overreacting. I'm just doing what needs to be done'.
'You're over doing it', he argued.
'I'm not', I countered.
'You are', he said.
'I'm not', I said.
And we kept tossing those words at each other until Zayn stepped in saying, 'Okay that's enough', his voice showing his irritation at the situation.
I kind of forgot he was even here and by the look on Aiden's face, so did he.
'What are you guys even arguing like kids over?', he asked
'He thinks I'm overworking', I answered. 'Well he's not wrong', he mumbled catching me off guard, 'What? No I'm not', I said.
'See Snowflake, I'm only telling you the truth', Aiden said.
I noticed how Zayn's jaw slightly clenched when Aiden called me Snowflake but he said nothing.
'Whatever guys. I said it before and I'll say it again, I'm fine', I said trying to pick up the book again but Aiden picked it up giving me a disapproving look.
'Amy, he's right, you know? I understand that you're trying your best so we can succeed but at least let us help you with somethings.
You're doing everything on your own and the rest of us are just left to rely on you.' Zayn spoke before I could try to pry the book out of Aiden's hands.
'If you want to keep doing whatever you're doing. At least let the rest of you're team help', Aiden said smiling slightly.
I took a deep breadth. Maybe they are right, I'm meant to lead them but I can't do everything myself.
'I guess you guys are right', I sighed. 'We're a team and we should be doing this together. I'm sorry if I got you worried, I just don't want to mess up as the leader.'
'No one said you had to be perfect. It's okay, we understand', Zayn said.
'Just call us anytime you need us and we'll be there Snowflake', Aiden said as he rested his hand on my shoulder.
'Thanks guys', I said. Then I noticed Zayn was staring, more like glaring, at Aiden's hand on my shoulder.
'Well, I guess I could finish up tomorrow', I said getting up followed by Aiden as his hand dropped to his side. Zayn seemed to visibly relax at that.
'We will finish up tomorrow Snowflake', Aiden said pointedly. I rolled my eyes at this as I gestured for the two gentle men to move.
'Now, don't you remember? Ladies first', Zayn said with a mock bow. I laughed at the gesture but bowed slightly as I passed him.
I looked back to see him walking behind me with Zayn glaring daggers at Aiden.
I raised an eyebrow at him when he saw me looking but simply looked away.
I opened the library door to see Iris standing on the other side, her hands outstretched to open the door.
'Hey Iris', I greeted.
'Good, you're all here', she said.
'What's wrong?', Aiden spoke.
'Well, everything is ready for us to go find the scepter', Iris said.
'And?', Zayn asked.
'We're leaving first thing tomorrow, before day break. Jaxon told me to inform you guys', she said.
'I guess it's finally time to start putting our training to use', Aiden said as he looked at each of us with a determined smile.
