Chapter 19 - First Kiss, Indescribably Wonderful

Bo Su's lips landed on hers like a storm and an electric current instantly spread from her lips to her limbs. Yan Shu didn't expect a kiss to feel so wonderful.

Even though it was just a light brush.

Just as Yan Shu thought that the kiss was over and was about to pull away, Bo Su's big hand suddenly landed on her waist. He pulled her into his arms and deepened the kiss.

It felt like a century had passed. Just as Yan Shu was about to suffocate, Bo Su finally let go of her reluctantly.

Looking at the woman who was slumped in his arms, with eyes bright and sparkling, Bo Su could feel his heart sinking.

"Shushu." His voice was husky and deep. "You're a great kisser."

Yan Shu sat up bashfully.

At this moment, the waitress suddenly pushed the door open and stood there awkwardly after witnessing their exchange.

Yan Shu quickly got out of Bo Su's arms and sat herself on a chair.

The waitress braced herself and went ahead to serve the dishes on the table. Bo Su was very unhappy and commented, "Shouldn't robots be employed to serve the dishes?"

The waitress felt like her world was falling apart. She had just seen something she shouldn't have. Was this big shot going to dismiss all the wait staff here?

Before the waitress left, Bo Su reminded her unhappily, "Remember to knock on the door the next time you come in."

"Yes."

After the waiter left, Yan Shu finally lifted her head. Bo Su looked at her blushing face and laughed even more joyfully.

This girl was indeed innocent. Although she had been in love before, she was very inexperienced in kissing. However, that scumbag Gu Yucheng didn't know how to appreciate such a gem. With some guidance, a top student like her has huge potential. Kissing Yan Shu was indescribably wonderful.

With the wonderful kiss as an appetizer, Bo Su and Yan Shu ate to their heart's content.

After eating and drinking their fill, Bo Su and Yan Shu came out of the private room.

The director and a few doctors from the Psychiatry Department happened to be eating in the hall. When they saw Yan Shu, the director walked over without thinking and began to assign work to her.

"Dr. Yan, that patient in the Supreme VIP ward specifically asked for you to be her doctor-in-charge. Please go there now and take over the case."

Bo Su questioned the director with a cold expression, "It's lunch hour now. Is there no lunch break in your hospital?"

The director was feeling embarrassed by Bo Su's direct questioning. The hospital did not belong to him, and he had no right to ask his employees to work during their lunch break.

The director was intimidated by Bo Su's cold aura. He opened his mouth and said, "Yes, yes, yes. She can start work after lunch."

Bo Su continued, "Shouldn't Dr. Yan's work be arranged by the hospital? Why is the patient making decisions from the VIP ward?"

The director was speechless.

Yan Shu tugged at Bo Su's sleeve and helped the director out of his predicament. "Bo Su, the hospital is not a court. The hospital has to consider the patient's needs."

Yan Shu never bargained when she was at work. She said to the director, "I'll be right there."

The director was relieved.

After sending Bo Su to the car, Yan Shu ran towards the VIP ward anxiously. Bo Su rolled down the car window and watched Yan Shu leave. His gentle eyes immediately turned cold.

It seemed that his stepmother was going to challenge him.

Bo Su's lips curled into an evil smile. If the tiger didn't show its might, did she think he was a sick cat?

In front of the VIP ward, Yan Shu took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

"Come in," a languid voice sounded from inside.

Yan Shu pushed open the door. The rich lady was wearing an expensive silk camisole and lying lazily in bed as she turned to look at her.

"Everyone praised you as a top-notch graduate from a prestigious university with exceptional medical skills. I believe that Dr. Yan can definitely cure my illness. So, I asked the hospital director to send you here. I hope that you won't disappoint me," the wealthy woman said with a haughty tone, enjoying the feeling of mocking Yan Shu.

Yan Shu responded cautiously. "I'm just an ordinary doctor without a title and mistakes can happen. It might be better for Madam to seek help from experienced experts to avoid any delays in your treatment."

Yan Shu's heart was as clear as a mirror. Mrs. Bai's request for her to be the attending physician was likely a trap. She must be trying to find fault with her and blame her for medical malpractice. If that happened, it would be hard to get out of the situation.

She wasn't going to give Mrs. Bai a chance to do that.

The lady turned a deaf ear to Yan Shu's request. She took a leisurely pose and stretched out her fair hand, insistent on her request. "Let's begin."

If she couldn't avoid it, then she would face it head-on. This was Yan Shu's principle.

Yan Shu walked up to her and put both hands in her pockets. "I have reviewed your medical records, Madam. You have been experiencing chronic fatigue, frequent palpitations, and muscle pain, especially after intense physical activities. Despite various tests, doctors couldn't find the exact cause of your condition, but there was an abnormality in your electromyogram. The doctors suspected myositis. The purpose of you checking into the hospital is for comprehensive genetic testing, isn't it?"

Madam smiled arrogantly. "You've put in a lot of effort to memorize my medical records. Then tell me, what do you think after reading them?"

Yan Shu said with a serious tone, "This is not profound insight, but I highly suspect that you might be suffering from a neurological disorder."

The rich lady sneered. "Hehe, I thought you might have some insightful views but you're just like the other mediocre doctors. When you can't find the crux of the problem, you blame it on some neurological disorder."

Yan Shu said, "Since Madam doesn't believe me, there's nothing I can do." With that, she turned to leave.

"Why don't you prescribe me some medicine? I'll believe you if it works," the lady suddenly said.

"Neurological medications have side effects," urged Yan Shu with a responsible attitude. To avoid giving the lady any chance to find trouble with her, she advised the lady to change her treatment plan.

"From my observations, your condition is not so serious that you have to go on medication."

The lady was furious. "Just prescribe the drugs as I have requested. Why are you babbling away?"

Yan Shu picked up a pen and paper and prescribed a health supplement for the lady.

The lady looked at the name of the medicine and crumpled the prescription into a ball before throwing it into the trash can. "Yan Shu, are you trying to fool me?"

Yan Shu said, "Madam, if you can't accept my treatment, please find another doctor."

The rich lady looked at Yan Shu. "Yan Shu, you're the most proud doctor I've ever seen. I'll make you understand that in the face of power, pride is worthless."

Yan Shu shrugged and remained unmoved.

"Alright, I accept your treatment plan," the lady compromised helplessly.

Yan Shu's brows relaxed slightly. She picked up a pen and carefully came up with a specific plan for the rich lady.

The lady glanced at her and chatted with her intermittently.

"Dr. Yan, are you friends with my son, Bai Lancheng?"

Yan Shu didn't even look up as she said calmly, "No."

The rich lady looked puzzled. Looking at Yan Shu's calm expression, it seemed like she really didn't know Bai Lancheng.

On second thought, it was normal for doctors to not remember the names of the patients. After all, they had to see hundreds of patients a day.
