I was bewildered by the news. Nethan, the beast, here yesterday? It couldn't be true. They said he vanished after that dreadful night years ago, and no one had seen him since, so why now all of a sudden?
"Nethan was here? Why?" Elizabeth asked Loretta, her expression tense with concern and curiosity.
"How did he find you?" Aiden chimed in, his eyes searching for answers.
Lily jumped into the conversation as well, her worry for her mother was evident in her voice. "How come you didn't tell anyone? Mom, what if he had hurt you?"
My mind was spinning with questions. Why had Nethan suddenly appeared after all these years? What was his motive?
"What did he say to you? You know you can tell me anything, right?" Elizabeth gently prodded my mother, but Loretta remained silent.
