What just happened?
Confusion and curiosity filled the air as we all tried to comprehend what had just transpired. My mother's reaction had left me perplexed and hurt. How could she not recognize her own daughter? Was it possible that she thought I was someone else, or had she simply forgotten about me after all this time? The thought was both painful and unsettling.
Well, if I wasn't told about her being alive, I would have also thought the same thing. But then again, why did she run inside after looking at Elizabeth.
As Lily questioned Elizabeth about their connection, I couldn't help but wonder what had transpired between them in the past. The fact that they seemed to know each other added another layer of mystery to this unexpected reunion.
Turning to Lily, I sought answers. "Why do you think our mother acted as if she didn't see or recognize me? I'm sure she looked right at me, but then she ran inside without saying a word."
