"I bet they're keeping her," said Mint.
"It has crossed Kier's mind," said Medes. "He's very ambivalent about it."
"Yeah. Ina too. But she mostly leaned towards keeping her before she fell asleep."
"I figured. Kier was trying to come up with an alternative before he dozed off."
It was by the moonlight that the two Familiars contemplated their Magic users. Ina still had an arm over Irel. The little girl had turned over to use one of Kier's arms as a pillow. Kier had fallen asleep face up, both hands under his head.
"I bet they're having kids, if they don't keep her," said Mint.
"Really? You want people raised by Kier to grow and reproduce?"
"Don't you?"
Medes took a moment to envision the prospect. "I guess it couldn't hurt."
