The sun rose and Kier's shoulders hurt horribly. Apparently, sleeping with your hands under your head only resulted in stressed, tired joints. Still, he did not move. He'd let Irel wake up when she woke up.
The girl finally stirred. Still not moving, Kier spoke to her as he looked at the golden sky above.
"I'm sorry it wasn't all a dream," he said. "But I am going to pay a visit to the people that did this to you."
Irel drew her legs toward her chest and bowed her head, still using Kier's arm as a pillow.
"I want you to come with me, little cannibal. There's something I have to show you and I feel it is very important that you learn it."
