Athyn gulped. "I don't understand."
"Nor I," said the eldest. "You were brought here that you may speak of your actions, but you bring up the subject of, perhaps, the only family of Mages I have ever heard of. Whoever sent you, did he have a reason for you to simply disregard the life of my descendants so you could build a tower?"
"I was sent here…" Athyn gulped again to stop herself from stuttering. "I was sent here for one of the members of this family."
"Is that your reason to kill the children of my children?" The elder pulled back away to take his weight off his arms. "Because you seek a person?"
Athyn could only bring herself to nod.
"We seek justice, human. Shall we disregard your life pursuing it?"
