"Right," said Ina. "He's got two brothers. I don't know how the world stands with three of them in it."
"Rien and Myken are fairly sane. It's Kier who can't muster a grain of sense."
Ina sighed. That wasn't true. He was weird, to be sure. But she was convinced Kier's actions were anything but senseless. What he'd done to handle the situation with the Shadow convinced her of that.
"Crazy? Yes," she thought. "But completely conscious. What he did was definitely better than a fight."
"So why don't you go try your luck with Myken? It sounds like you'd have an easier time with him."
Athyn tipped her head to a side, looked away, and opened her mouth to say something but never got to it.
Ina waited for the excuse.
