"I... Hmm...I'm a small town girl and I tend to eat a lot." I said and held my hands together really tightly till my knuckles were almost turning white with my cheeks burning red.
Even at the moment, he still couldn't believe himself but he found her cute.
"I thought of going around the house but I was afraid I might get lost in this big beautiful mansion." I finally trailed off.
"Come in..." He said and stepped out of the way a bit. For some reason, he found it odd to keep conversing with her at the door step but he also didn't want to invite her into his room but he actually found himself asking her to come in.
Damn, what the hell is going on with him?
"Oh..." I mouthed an "O" but I couldn't deny the fact that I was kind of shocked by his actions. I never really expected him to invite me in but if he's inviting me in, why decline? I hesitated a bit but finally made a move to walk into his room. My brows creased and my jaw almost dropped when I stepped into his room. His king seized room was just magnificent, it was way more bigger and more beautiful than the one I had slept in. There was this particular sweet scent the room gave out, it was the same scent that filled my room when hero walked into the room to come check up on me... The scent of fresh squeezed oranges.
The instant she walked passed him, there was a particular scent her body gave out that suddenly erupted something new in him... He suddenly wanted to sniff her all day long. She scented like roses. He had never liked the scent of roses but there was something about her scent that drew him to her. Her scent filled his nostrils and soon clouded his mind and he couldn't help but take a step with the attempt of coming close to her. It was happening again... He was starting to lose control, his demon was waking up again. The dark and monstrous side of him, his demon, wanted to pull her into his embrace, kiss and taste every part of her body and probably make her his. Drawing in a sharp breath, Raman immediately took a step away from her and turned around to cool his head and control his demon.
What the hell is happening?
Ever since this lady stepped into his life, he has began to lose control over his demon which has never happened to him... Why is this happening? What's so special about this lady that awakens his demon? He thought to himself and was finally able to calm this demon before he finally turned around to gaze at her.
"So what were you saying hmm..." He wanted to call her by her name but he finally realized he had no idea what her name was. He hadn't even asked her name.
"Ella." I said realizing the fact that he was trying to call me by my name but he couldn't since I didn't tell cause he never asked. "The name is Isabella but I'd rather be called Ella." I added and smiled a bit.
"Oh... Ella, what were you saying?" He asked again.
"Hmm... I was just suggesting if you can show me to the kitchen." I said.
"Actually, I don't prepare food myself nor do I have anyone to prepare it for me so I just go out to eat or order food from a nearby eatery." Raman said.
"Really?... Well you don't have to anymore. I'm a very good cook." I said with a broad smile on my face.
"Oh really..." He said like he actually didn't belive me.
"Yes I am. I'm not from a rich family, I wasn't pampered. Although we had a maid yet I was taught how to cook. You know what?..." I paused for a moment, "Since you've done so much for me, let me repay you by preparing a meal for you." I suggested.
"Hmm... If you prepare a meal for me, I won't take it as you repaying me, I'll just take it as a form of gratitude from you. Simple."
"Really?" I said in excitement.
"Yes." He replied.
"OK then. But first, you'll have to show me to the kitchen hero." I said taking two feets away from Raman.
"OK then Ella. Let's go." He said, walked up to the door and opened it.
"One more thing hero, can we go to the market once we're done, please..." I said and looked at him with pleading eyes.
"Hmm... Only if you're able to prove you're that good of a cook as you said. If you're able to prove you're a good cook, I'll take you to the market to get clothes for yourself." Raman said and for the first time, he smiled at me.
His smile was captivating, he looked more beautiful with that smile on his face though it wasn't that big of a smile yet I couldn't help but admire this god of beauty before me.
"Let's go." He gestured to me to leave first.
"Wait hero, you said you don't prepare food yourself right?" I asked
"Yes, any problem?" He asked with curiosity.
"If you don't prepare food yourself it means you don't have anything in this big house I can cook. Well, in that case, we'll have to visit the market first. What do you think?" I curiously asked, hoping to hear a "Yes".
"Hmm... You're right..."
Of course she is, there is no way he can argue this out with her. "Let's go to the market then." He added.
I watched him walk up to the bedside drawer, draw out a drawer and take out a wallet. He pushed the drawer back in before walking up to me and with that, we headed to the market but not before I insisted he show me around the lounge, dinning hall and the huge libary. Gosh... It was magnificent.
....
For the first time in all of his existence, Raman actually found himself walking with a human by his side, heading to the market. In all his life of existence, he had never been to the market neither did he ever picture himself going to the market to buy anything especially groceries. Whatever he needed both in the human world and demon world, his advocate, Oliver who had always provided it all for him. But now, he would actually go to the market just because this human wanted him to. Why didn't he just refuse her and let her go herself or could it be because he felt it wasn't safe for her to roam around yet after what happened last night.
I was really happy my savior would actually agree to accompany me to the market, it wasn't something I actually expected. I immediately halted in my tracks when I realized the fact that everything seemed different.
This definitely isn't Vartish so if this isn't Vartish, then where am I? I asked myself.
"Hmm... Hero, where is this place?" I asked.
"This is Decra." He said, focusing his gaze and half of his attention on the road.
"OK then, do you mind showing me around?" I said.
"Not today. It's dusk already, let's just get what we need and head back ok..." He said softly.
"OK then, as you say hero." I said.
Finally, we got to the market but then, the attention we got was way beyond my imagination. Almost all the women who were buying and selling stopped whatever they were busy with and began staring at us but Raman in particular. What could I expect? I was walking with a god of beauty by my side. Some were giggling and some whispering, even the men at the market were staring at him and some became jealous cause their wives could see nothing other than Raman. I felt my knees tremble and I wished that the ground could just open up and swallow me. The attention we got made me really anxious but he didn't seem to care.
Finally, we bought everything we needed to prepare a meal and more groceries than we needed to prepare a meal for just one day or two and clothes for me. I felt extremely relieved the instant we got home but I knew deep down that Raman will of course be the talk of the market among women.
It was almost dinner time when we got home and finally, Raman showed me the kitchen before heading back to his room to freshen up. Alas, I finally prepared dinner and severed Raman the meal I had just prepared.
I sat at the left hand side of the dining table, a few meters away from where he sat at the first end of the table. He began digging in gracefully and I couldn't help but admire his awesome eating etiquette and I also prayed he might end up liking the dish. He finally stood up after almost emptying his plate and was about leaving the dinner hall when he halted in his tracks.
"Ella..." He called out and turned to look at me, "You're really a good cook..." He complimented and smiled a bit at me, "Prepare a meal for me again tomorrow. Goodnight." He said and finally walked out of the dinning hall.
Oh my gosh, he loves me cooking... I thought to myself in excitement. At least, I managed to make him smile... Twice... I actually did make my hero smile. With my heart dancing in joy, I ate my portion of the meal, cleared the table and headed to my room.
