Chapter 11 - Murano vs Barou

Team X

Barou's (POV)

'He used me!'

"Murano used me!?"

Despite the fact that we have been winning our games, I can't seem to get this feeling off my chest.

I haven't been scoring as much as I used to yet I felt satisfied when we won.

I thought to myself, unable to comprehend how he could manipulate me like this.

I am the King on the field.

He won't get away with it, not from me!

I thrive on the thrill of proving myself and taking the spotlight away from others. But lately, I can't get rid of the nagging suspicion that Murano purposely held me back. Maybe it's just my imagination, but I can't help but question his motives.

Now, however, I believe that Murano has exploited my abilities and placed me in a supporting role. It annoys me that he gets to shine on the field while I'm left with a hollow feeling.

It is irrelevant. Regardless of the difficulties I'll encounter in Blue Lock. Jealousy won't hurt me in any way. I'll never again allow someone to overshadow me.

'So why can't I score as many goals?'

Blue Lock...

Team X

Training Room.

10 am

"Look I went up from 247 to 246," Ruto said excitedly.

Ruto shouted, "Wow, Murano, you moved up to first place in Team X!"

I overheard Ruto and Murano conversing as I entered the training room.

I then stepped onto the mat and joined Murano and Ruto in the Training Room. We then began the jumping test.

"And... Jump!!" I yelled as I soared through the air.

"I got to 67 cm," Daido announced proudly.

Damn it! I missed the mark.

Murano, who had jumped higher than Ruto and I, commented, "And I reached 71 cm!"

Ruto, intent on surpassing both of us, said, "I need to work harder to catch up."

"And I will definitely do better next time," Murano added confidently.

I'm not going to let Murano keep shining while I'm here.

We then went on to the next session, the endurance test.

Endurance test

Ruto: 25 km/h

Murano: 32 km/h

Barou: 32 km/h

"You alone?"

"How about we play together then, one-on-one of course," I asked Murano after we finished the endurance test.

"Sure, why not," Murano replied enthusiastically.

With how carefree he was, it started to piss me off.

I couldn't stand his nonchalant attitude.

Team X's Indoor Training Facility

"Yo Barou!"

"Why don't we do this, the winner of this 1 v 1 gets to be the main man for team X."

I was taken aback when Murano said that.

This guy...

For some reason...

Murano gets me...

This is just what I want.

"This is where we would finally settle this once and for all."

Barou vs Murano

1 vs 1

3 rounds.

Murano started the game as he approached the center of the field, his eyes locked on.

He ran with the ball and dribbled past Barou with ease, showcasing his exceptional skill and agility.

Barou then tract back as he sprinted to catch up to Murano, determined to not let him outmaneuver him again.

"Focus, you stupid," Barou said to Murano as he caught up, he then slide-tackled him with all his might, bringing Murano down to the ground.

He won the ball after his dirty foul.

Barou then started running upfield with the ball at his feet, ready to make a play.

With magnificent speed, Murano then tried to catch up to him, but it was too late.

As he approached him, Barou unleashed a powerful shot into the net, determined to prove his dominance and claim victory in this match.

Barou 1-0 Murano

Murano restarted the 1 v 1 as he swiftly nutmegged Barou and hit a long shot into the top corner from the mid-field, equalizing the score.

Now the match is tied, and both players are eager to secure the win.

1-1

With the last round of the game, tension fills the air as both players give it their all to break the deadlock. They know that only one goal can secure victory.

"The stakes have never been higher."

"The ultimate showdown to determine who truly reigns supreme."

Barou resumed the game as he dribbled past Murano and took aim at the opponent's goal.

He attempted to replicate Murano's long shot, but his attempt was blocked by the goalpost.

Murano then took possession of the ball as it rebounded off the post.

He used stepovers and hit a nutmeg through Barou's legs. Barou dropped down as a result of Murano's skillful move. Murano then hit a long shot sending the ball flying as it went through the net.

Barou 1-2 Murano

'Argh!! Dammit,' I lost again...

As he came closer to me, He stared at me, looking disappointed.

His eyes fired up as he said

"FROM NOW ON" "I WANT YOU TO MOVE FOR THE SAKE OF MY GOAL."

Huh?

This little shit.

What's he trying to say?

I'm the King of the Field, how dare he say that to me.
