MINUTES LATER.
For a while, two pairs of eyes were fixed on each other, and the mood in the room had turned tight.
Badum badum
Her heart was racy, and it was pounding furiously.
'How come those eyes look familiar?'
'When I look at her up close, she reminds me of someone, but who?'
Felicia couldn't help but wonder as she glanced at Avita, whom she was meeting for the second time since her hospitalization.
"Mommy!" exclaimed a sweet female voice.
This brought her back to the present.
"Umm, uh, sorry about that!" Felicia apologized gently as she averted her sight from Avita, who was staring at her with interest.
Lucilla, who was about to suffocate as a result of this small drama, was relieved as well, but she couldn't help but wonder what her mother was thinking at that brief moment.
Avita appeared to resurrect as well, and she smiled shyly at the middle-aged lady, who appeared to be in her thirties rather than forties and added, "It's okay. You are a stunning woman."
Avita couldn't stop herself from complimenting Felicia.
Felicia Larson, Miguel Larson's second wife, was a celebrity in Wakothanie.
She was well-known among the socialites for her kind heart. This woman was interested in charity and ran her own foundation targeted at assisting women.
However, this foundation was mostly run by professionals, and she wouldn't be present all the time unless she was needed.
Felicia was a housewife who looked after the house and the children. This lovely lady was 45 years old, 1.63m tall, and had the same gorgeous brown eyes as Avita.
Felicia did not grow up in a wealthy family, and the entire city and country are aware of this. She was an orphan who struggled in life but never stopped dreaming because of it.
Felicia's life changed when she met her husband when she was twenty-three years old.
She married at the age of twenty-seven, and her life has never been the same since.
She was not only lovely but she was also blessed with three more children for Miguel, the guy who never aged.
Miguel was well-known, and despite being fifty years old, his appearance could fool anyone, and he was beloved even among teenagers.
Felicia reddened as she was complimented on her appearance by this girl she was quite interested in, and said, "You look good too."
Avita's face lit up, and she began to shower her with accolades.
Lucilla couldn't believe Felicia had accomplished so much in such a short period.
Felicia fell in love with Avita right away; after all, the girl has a nice mouth and appears innocent and honest. Something that was very uncommon.
Avita didn't question why others weren't present, instead focusing on what was.
She was also delighted to learn more about Felicia's other two children, Faith and Millicent.
Faith and Millicent were two years apart in high school. They were both attractive and likable girls with whom she enjoyed conversing.
Felix, on the other hand, was acting well and causing no problems for anyone.
Avita was not ashamed of her upbringing, and whenever the youngsters asked her a question, she always answered and put light on what they wanted to know.
"Big sister, you must love your boyfriend!" Faith exclaimed at hearing the story of Avita and Patrick's meeting.
Felica frowned at her daughter, but Faith didn't care and kept digging for more facts.
"He is my heart, ha ha. I don't think anyone else can compete with him!" she replied confidently.
Felicia grinned as she heard this. She could tell Avita was head over heels in love, which was quite risky. She realized that being blindly in love may only injure the person and not the other way around.
Lucilla would contribute here and there, but Avita never mentioned that she had been fired.
This was her own problem, and she wasn't going to make it appear as though she wanted to use this wealthy family.
Felicia didn't know why she was so taken with this child, but a deep part of her did like this girl and wanted to know more.
"Are you certain you don't want to stay over?" Felicia inquired for the hundredth time.
Avita laughed at Felicia's cuteness and politely declined, "Aunt, I really can't do this tonight, but maybe another day."
Felicia sighed in defeat, "Fine, come and sleep over next time. That will make the kids happy."
"Big sister, you should visit more!" Felix said, looking at Avita with his huge eyes and nodding his head.
When Lucilla saw this, she shook her head and chided her younger siblings, saying, "You kids, don't worry, she'll come back. If you wish, we can also pay her a visit."
"Oh, we can do that as well."
"Why didn't I think of that?"
Avita was upset about leaving, but there was time for everything. She'll see them again; their friendship isn't going to end anytime soon.
Lucilla returned Avita to her apartment, and Avita, who hadn't seen her boyfriend for a while, was overjoyed to see him.
"Did you miss me?" Patrick teased, noticing how clingy his girlfriend was acting.
"Ummm, I missed you so much," Avita said sheepishly as she rested her head on his shoulder, “did you miss me as well?"
"How can I not miss you?" Patrick chuckled as he dropped a peck on her cheek. "I miss you every second!"
Avita was pleased to hear this and a smile appeared on her face, "That's more like it!"
Avita didn't bother Patrick any longer because he was too busy working his part-time job online.
"I'll go wash my hands. You keep doing your job!"
"Of course, love. I'll see you later!"
Avita kissed her man before drifting to the bedroom to sleep.
It was Sunday the next morning, and no one needed to go to work. Avita and Patrick were not churchgoers and preferred to spend their time earning money rather than attending church.
They didn't dislike religious people; they simply didn't believe in anything. They were agnostics.
It was a beautiful day to generate money, and for Avita, it was another day to figure out how to get a job as soon as possible.
