While Patrick was busy marketing his items online, Avita was in the bedroom checking LinkedIn to see if there were any jobs available near her.
But she was always coming up against a brick wall and couldn't seem to find anything. This, however, did not cause her to give up.
If she can't find work right now, she plans to keep looking until she does. Even if she couldn't find work in accounting right now, she can always do something else.
Finding a job is still preferable to doing nothing. And she wasn't planning to notify her lover about being fired until she was stuck. If Patrick's family members found out, she had no idea what kind of difficulty they would cause her this time.
The next day, Patrick left first as usual, and Avita, who no longer had a job, decided to go to the salon.
She has a chair there, so since she was free, she can go there and work till she discovers something.
Unfortunately for her, she had no clients for three days in a row, which was beginning to worry her.
Avita began to look for anything she could do right now because she didn't want to be in the salon every day. The money was there, but the process was tedious.
She didn't want to make this her full-time job, but she did want to do something that would allow her to use what she had learned in school and at work.
Finally, Avita began to look for jobs she could do online, and after careful investigation and searching, she decided to work online as well.
Working for someone was simply exhausting, and there was a risk of being bullied, as she was. She didn't know or comprehend why she was fired until today.
Was it really necessary to kick her when she was down like way, even if she had provoked someone?
In the end, she believed that being self-employed was preferable since she could guarantee that her work would be immaculate and, even if something went wrong, she wouldn't have to walk on eggshells.
Finally, she created an account on Fiverr, a global online marketing platform that connects freelancers with businesses or individuals looking for people to hire.
On this platform, a person can offer freelance services based on what the other knows and be compensated for it.
The benefit of this platform was that she could work for someone hundreds of kilometers away and still get paid without any scams.
She followed the instructions and chose to become a seller. By selecting this option, Avita will be able to officially begin selling her services to those in need.
Another stressful aspect was determining how many freelancers were offering the same services as her.
It was frustrating, but she had learned from a young age never to give up without trying.
She placed her gigs at three different prices before browsing the platform for new opportunities.
One thing that made her skeptical was how experienced most freelancers were, and she felt like a joke in comparison to her two years.
'I suppose I should keep working on myself. Things will be fine one day!'
Avita has no intention of staying there. She had seen her partner make money by selling stuff online. If he can do it, why can't she?
However, she lacked the talent of sweet talking and sugarcoating words to persuade people to buy what she was selling. But, if she sold online, wouldn't that problem be resolved automatically?
There are so many things that people want, and she believes that as long as she finds a niche, everything will work out.
And now she was going to think of methods to make money. She was going to make it one way or another.
Days passed rapidly, and Avita eventually devised a strategy. And she needed to tell her boyfriend about her plan in order for it to work perfectly.
After all, she couldn't keep this from him forever.
So, when she realized this, she decided to prepare a delicious meal for Patrick to appease his rage because she hadn't been truthful from the start.
When Patrick arrived, an aromatic scent that heightened his hunger assaulted him.
Avita, his devoted girlfriend, greeted him with a grin, and Patrick enveloped his virtuous girlfriend in a warm hug.
"Welcome back home!"
"Umm, thanks a lot, ae!"
"Go change your clothes. The food will be ready in a few minutes!" she said with a smile.
"I'll be there in a flash!"
Patrick didn't suspect anything and went to the bedroom, where he emerged twenty minutes later looking extremely refreshed.
Avita had also prepared the table.
Patrick gazed at the curry samp with lamb and chakalaka, a glass of orange fresh pressed juice, and realized that pursuing Avita wasn't such a horrible idea back then.
Unlike the girls who tend to ignore their heritage, Avita never forgot to make home-cooked and traditional meals for him. She would occasionally test cuisine from other continents, but she prefers African recipes seven out of ten times.
Patrick was so full after supper that he sat in the living room with a toothpick in his teeth, waiting for Avita to join him so that they could both watch the news and stay up with current events in the country.
After clearing the plates, Avita quickly joined him and brought some ice cream for the two of them.
"Darling, I have something I need to discuss with you!" Patrick was caught off guard when Avita stated something that sounded serious.
"What is it?" he said, confused and curiously looking at her. "Is this serious?"
Avita paused before responding, "umm, it depends on how you see it, but it shouldn't be that much."
Patrick felt comforted when he heard this. He was concerned that... Anyway, it was good that she was relaxed like this because it meant there was no need for him to be concerned.
Heaving a sigh of relief, he changed his seating posture and said, "Shoot!"
Avita moaned as she stared at her partner, "ummm, it's like this. I..... I was let go from my job last week!"
“What?”
