Chapter 20 - 20 The wedding day

He concluded and began to check on the kind of gaming facilities in the hotel that he can engage himself in to keep his head afloat. He had been an indoor man all his life, today, he had to find a hobby that would make him happy. Likewise, he dressed up and walked around the hotel. To his excitement, there were many activities going and everyone seemed to be happy. He gave Eric a call.

“Hello boss. Is there anything you want me to do for you?”

“Eric, nothing for now. I just want to inform you that I am at the Gaming Center of the hotel. Inform the other team members. You can join me if you wish.”

“That is good. We are joining you.”

After a few minutes, the team members joined him, and they walked around to discover the kind of games that they could fit in. Now, they got to the football court and discovered that there was a match going on, and the players were also visitors who came for the exhibition like them too. And some faces were familiar. They had met them at the Exhibition Arena.

“Wow! We have been missing. We can come here after the exhibition each day.”

Mr. Louis, informed.

“Yes, boss.”

They made inquiries on how to participate, and they got the information that they needed. The next day, Louis asked them to order for the sports kits they required, and he paid. After the day's work, they joined others at the Gaming Center and had a good time. They had dinner together before he retired to his suite, delighted. Afterward, he spoke with his family members while Tony and Fred, his domestic staff members, called to check on him.

“Hello, Fred, good to hear from you.”

“Wow!”

Fred exclaimed. Mr. Louis, who was surprised with such exclamation and familiarity, asked.

“What happened, Fred?”

“I am so happy to hear from you. You sound thrilled.”

Louis was rendered speechless.

'So I have rubbed my problem on many people.'

He thought. All the same, he encouraged Fred.

“Yes, I am happy once again. Thank you for your concern.”

“You are welcome, boss. We just called to hear from you. Bye for now.”

“That is nice of you. Later.”

The next day, he got to the Exhibition Arena full of hope. He had never been involved in the exhibition for the past few days that they had been there and was not familiar with many things. He adjusted and covered many business deals which the staff members were unable to cover since they arrived.

After the exhibition on that day, they returned to the hotel rooms with great expectations.

At the Bailey Native Home

When Nichole returned to her apartment with her family, Arthur settled down to have a talk with Julie about Olivia.

“Julie.”

“Yes, father.”

“I want to believe that Olivia must be a well-behaved girl. Am I right?”

She gave her father a warm look before she spoke.

“Father, that is an understatement. I had known her when she was growing up, and she is from an excellent home. I was thinking of arranging a blind date for her and Louis. But as you can see, it will never be possible again.”

“You are right. But she is still part of us. Denise is also your brother.”

“You are right, father.”

“I am excited to see all of you settling down with your spouses. After Denise, the next and last would be Louis, and I'm sure it won't be long before he would settle down.”

“Yes father. Nonetheless, before him, there is someone that should settle down, too.”

Arthur, who was amazed, asked expeditiously.

“Who?”

Julie looked at him and announced.

“Father, it is you. You need to settle down with another woman. It had been thirteen years since mother passed on. You need a partner.”

Before Julie could end her discourse, Mr. Bailey was already lost in thought because she had torched an old wound, and it had hit him badly. She was troubled when she saw the moist in her father's eyes. Then she quickly apologized.

“I'm sorry, father, if I have opened up something you wished to forget.”

Julie became elated when he responded, as his words were encouraging.

“You are right, Julie. I will give it a thought, if that will make you happy.”

Julie, who was excited, gave him a hug and advised.

“This is great news to hear. Don't go into a relationship just to please me, but because you are confident that is what you want.”

“I'm sure of what I just said. I have waited for a long time.”

At Cairo, Egypt

Louis was supposed to have arrived at Kent the previous day for the wedding, but the flight for that day was cancelled abruptly and rescheduled for 6 am for the next day. Then, he called his family members to inform them of the change in his movement. However, the wedding was slated for noon and from Mr. Louis's prediction, if he leaves Cairo by 6 am, he would arrive at London by 11 am and find his way to Dover, Kent. Denise expressed worries.

“That means you would be a bit late for the registry.”

“Big brother, don't allow anything to ruin your day. I must be there.”

“It is alright. Safe trip.”

After the call, he settled down to have fun with his new friends and team members. He had regenerated himself without any therapist. He remembered Olivia McGregor once in a while, and he had been keeping track of the pregnancy.

'By now, the pregnancy should be three months old. Olivia, you are overreacting. I know I offended you. But disappearing without looking back is uncalled-for.'

He dismissed the thought quickly and replaced it with one fun or the other. The next day, as early as 4 o'clock, he was already set to leave for the airport. Eric booked for a cab that took him to the airport in the company of other male team members.

“Fair trip boss.”

“Thank you. Take care of the business of today.”

“All right, boss.”

They returned to the hotel afterward.

At Denise's Apartment.

Denise had taken Mr. Louis's advice of not allowing anything to ruin his day.

“After all, it is Olivia and me that are important in this wedding. Louis can join later.”

He consoled himself. At 10 am, his makeup artists were at his house to dress him up and by 11 am, he was set and unfortunately, Louis was not around yet and Denise instructed the makeup artists.

“You cannot leave. You will have to wait and dress my best man up. He is on his way.”

“All right, Mr. Bailey.”

At the Bailey Native Home.

The team of makeup artists who would make Olivia up had arrived as early as 8 am. Her chief bride's maid and little bride were around. They had arrived the previous day with Olivia's parents, who were in the hotel. After the breakfast, they began to dress up.
