Tech Geniuses
21 weeks...
Trey walked into the office last, trailing behind his assistant and bestfriend as he pondered what to say. He popped a few more buttons of his shirt open and shrugged off his suit jacket, letting his gaze wander over to Alexandra who stood stiffly by the glass windows, staring out of them.
"Please sit, at least," he said quietly, hanging the suit jacket on the back of his chair. The tension in the room was palpable, and he wished she would listen to his reasoning. But how could he ask that of her when he hadn't done same for her? When she stood rooted to her spot, he added, "I don't want you to get stressed out. It's not safe."
"What do you care about?" she muttered, still sounding mad. "Oh right, your children - the babies I'm carrying. How could I forget?" The amount of hurt that accompanied her words was heartwrenching. The last time he'd heard her sound like that was after they'd lost the second baby.
