Chapter 4 - orange

I took my time from answering back Eddie, who calling my name repeatedly. When I turned my eyes to them, they were all staring at me with weird looks.

“Huh?” I asked, with a surprised look.

“Did you even hear me calling your name many times?” Eddie asked, with a worried voice.

I didn’t even see the food in front of me until now.

“Yes, I did.” I said with a reassuring voice.

“You’re weird,” Aaron said, while sipping his cappuccino.

I wonder if she ever thinks of me. I am here, with my friends who are worried about me, because I am always oozing off and yet, I am still thinking about her whilst I’m with them.

“Are you okay? Who exactly stole your mind from yourself and us?” Toni asked.

“I am okay guys, it’s just I keep seeing that girl, and I still freeze when my eyes meet her,” I said, with a serious face while reaching out to my Chamomile herbal tea.

“We were hoping to find them here, this is their day of eating out in this café, so that you could show us exactly whom you’re talking about.” Edward said, with a slightly worried face.

“Do you know their schedule?” I asked, are they psychos? I gave that glare.

“We always follow them around, wherever they are, we follow them,” Toni answered, politely.

“We just love being around them, and I guess now you also joined the team,” Aaron said, and winked at me.

Edward seems like there’s someone on that group he wants and he’s very curious about who I want hoping it won’t be the person he’s also crushing. And I really hope we are not crushing the same person.

I saw Toni and Eddie whispering but in an argument way, until I asked, “What are you two arguing about?” they mumbled first before they could answer.

“Nothing, Bro,” Toni answered, while removing his eyes away from me to the other side.

“Can you at least now describe her appearance, I am sure by that we can be able to pick up who you are talking about,” Aaron said, while leaning toward me and he was right in front of me.

“She has longer hair, and she always makes a messy bunny hair style, and she’s about 165 cm in height, she always wears a simple perfect make up with a pink lip gloss, she always wears a crop top, she has a very light glowing skin,” I said, whilst explaining with my hands and a wide smile escaping my lips, I mean I could feel that smile while talking about her.

They were staring at me. If they say eyes could pop one eyes out, they would be talking about them. And I glared back at them expecting their response.

Toni was about to talk until my phone rang, it was my mom, I couldn’t put her on hold and listen to Toni. I stood up and went outside the café to answer the phone.

“Hello, Mom,” I answered with an excitement voice.

“Hello, Nathan, how are you doing there?” my mom asked with a grumpy voice. I knew something was not right.

“I am good mom, and everything is going alright here, are you okay mom? How is everything there including dad?” I asked, worriedly.

“Where are you now? We want to talk to you about something important,” mom said, the hurt in her voice made me so worried.

“I’m by the café with my friends, eating lunch, I will face time you when I am alone at the apartment.” I said with a worried voice, I was so worried.

She said “Okay,” and hung up. What could the important thing be about!

I stayed outside for a few minutes trying to clear my mind.

“Guys I guess I will see you all tomorrow at school, I’m leaving first,” I said, took my backpack and left.

I couldn’t even give them a chance to ask or to say anything. I just wanted to see myself being at my apartment.

“Mom, Dad,” my mom could hear the worried voice through the face time.

“Nathan, we didn’t want to disturb you, but we think you also has the right to know,” mom said, her voice says a lot. I felt the pain on my chest when she was saying that.

“Son, I got a call from the police this morning, and they think they have found your little brother,” dad said, with a tear escaping his left eye.

And my mom she was already crying, seeing my parents and the news they offered I couldn’t stop crying also. I have been waiting for this news for five years ago.

“Do you know where they said they think he is at?’ I asked, with a raspy voice, from crying.

“Out of this province, in Western Australia, we are going there tomorrow in the morning to check, because they also received a tip off, so they are still not sure,” dad said, the pain in his eyes it was unbearable to watch.

My mom, she is busy sobbing none stop. She just wants to see herself, seeing and hugging her son, my lost little brother.

“Okay dad, keep me updated, I will call you tomorrow when I’m at the apartment,” I said, with my voice. My eyes were still filled with tears.

“Sorry for disturbing you with your friends, we sent you there to make friends and socialize a lot not to stress you with the problems,” my mom said, while sobbing and wiping her tears with the tissue.

“My little brother he’s not a problem, and I am glad that you still include me, call me anytime, if I am free I will answer,” I said, while giving her a warm smile.

“Okay son, we are heading to sleep now it’s very late. As you know we are 8 hours ahead of South Africa,” my dad said, whilst waving his hand to me including my mom.

I pushed myself on my bed, after a hot shower I took. My mind now is more focused on my little brother; I miss him so much. I could even see the happiness from my mom and dad when seeing my little brother for the first in five years, in my imagination.

I sighed, when I remembered that I have to finish off my assignment, because Professor Poof, need them tomorrow morning first class. I sighed again before standing up from the bed.
